[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Shiva and Terra, are you going to implement any of the handicaps suggested earlier?

There is an excellent savanna south of the city, mostly grass and just a few thistles to watch out for. And a tree here and there for trainers to find some shade under.

"That's good information, Nathan. Thank you. Yes, I promised I'd be ready! If you need to visit a PC or anything before our battle, feel free! Otherwise, shall I go ahead and change into my battling clothes?"

Nathan's been looking forward to this battle quite a bit! His next set of comments is said with a sly smile. "Prepped my team before I got here.  We're ready when you are.  4v4, Single Battle, no items besides held items, battling until fainting, and the usual standard League rules besides those, right?"  (I've updated the character sheet with the team and their held items now as well)

Grid will be Nathan's first pokemon.

.....Outside on the ground, only with a blanket and soft plants beneath one, aaaarrrrggghhh! How the simple thought of that gave Shiva cold shivers of discomfort through every fibre of her body was rather understandable and from the look of it, it showed on the outside as it made her almost choke on the last sip of coffee. Yes, she herself did spend a night in Celebi Park with only her Pokemon and a bed of pine needles as matress AND one in the yard of Ginger Town's Daycare beneath the big tree there AND she enjoyed this peacefulness and closure to Mother Nature, but doing so regularly and over an extended time - Nope, thank you, in that case she'd prefer a comfy, soft, warm and clean bed to cuddle into. 

Though, on the other hand she's somewhat impressed by Terra living like that. Must be a lifestyle so different from her own one, in practically all means. " ....Weren't you, well, afraid of wild Pokemon approaching you during the nights then? Many are nocturnal, and not all of them are friendly. But the open sky full of stars as a ceiling - that must be an amazing feeling, isn't it...?" *more looking at him, but this time with coy interest*

Pondering about the offered conditions of Introductory Battle for a little, Shiva eventually nods rather hesitant. Something seems to bug her about them while the thought of officially being allowed to use more than four different moves in a battle raises wuite an amount of eager in her. So many nre possibilities open up! "I'm fine with these conditions, yes. But....do we HAVE to battle until the Pokemon faint, Terra? I don't enjoy my Pokemon fainting too much, the Pokemon themselves mostly don't either, it takes a while for them to be up and about again, but if you really want to....... S-so be it then." How most Gym Battles are until fainting as well, Shiva prefers to not think about right now too much, but it greatly adds to her accepting. "Let me just arrange my Team on Bill's PC, then we can head out to find a proper place to have our battle undisturbed. Battling is generally not looked at positively here in town, so we'd have to find a place a little aside. Meeting up at the exit of the Center to find one...?"

Agreed aditional Conditons

- LapisLazuly/Lovely is Terra's last Pokemon to be sent into the battle due to his enourmous amount of HP. I do want to face her and am curious to see how far I get, but she appearing in the middle or, hell, at the start of the battle would be quite a killjoy. D:
- No putting a foe to sleep, no usage of Encore either.
- Terra will only use maximum 2 moves that deal damage in a Round, but is free to buff and debuff to heart's content in return to that. That's for not outright defeating me/increasing the fairness.

Mechanics:
From my side, the battle can start and you can introduce us to our battlefield, Iron!~ I'd prefer it being somewhere on the Routes leading out of Cress City and into the savannah for a particular move of my Pokemon, if possible. I'll be heading to bed then though as it became late, sorry and good night.

"....What's wrong? Are you okay, Shiva...?" Terra asked, eyebrows scrunched together along with a look of light concern as he spotted the rather obvious sign of her new spit take. Maybe he DID say something wrong after all, if she's become so unnerved by (to him) seemingly simple conversation about his habits. Oh dear, not [i]again[/i]....

Her swift turnabout to honest curiosity and enlightened interest only served to confuse the plain monk even more, as he began scratching his head and looking both thoughtful AND befuddled. "....Maybe when I was little, but not now. I sleep lightly and......confidant in my and my Pokémon Strength. If a Wild Pokémon came to cause us trouble, we took care of them or scared them off. (…) *Smiles and relaxes a bit* Yes.....it is. The stars tell stories, and I am always happy to watch them."

"*Nods head* Yes. That is the way of true battling: giving it your all until you can not, or it is pointless to continue. *Pauses* ...At least, it is for me. (…) *Nods his head again* Agreed, and I know. Nathan told me about this yesterday, but thank you for the......reminder. Meet you outside and on the battlefield, Shiva. Prepare, and give it your all in battle, for I will too."

Terra then turned his attention to finish up the last of his breakfast, before departing from the table with dishes in hand to the cafeteria,(To clean up after himself, of course!), and then exiting the Center to begin his own pre-battle preparations and planning. Another day, and another test in the making....hopefully its just as interesting and thrilling as the last one with Nathan....

Orders: Have Terra finish up that bit of small talk, before agreeing to any and all of Shiva's additional condition and leaving the center to prepare his own team outside and nearby in relative privacy. Michael is going to be allow to have Toxic Orb proccing and is going to give Shiranui a dose of Stun Spore to trigger Guts for MAXIMUM POWER FOR BOTH!, while he gives some secrets orders to the rest of his Pokémon. Afterwards, he'll be waiting around the entrance for Shiva, and then follow her to the pre-ordained location for their battle! The Fae Mistress vs. The Wandering Monk is about to begin! Who will win?! We'll find out soon, won't we all!

Oh, and the conditional handicaps are fine with me, so long as Field Hazards and Status Altering Moves/Non Damaging are okay for Terra to spam to his heart's content, like those Attribute Altering Moves! Otherwise, me and Phantom might have to work things out a little more between us.

Heart finds a trainer, age 16, who has been journeying a while and already collected Zamboni's badge. His name is Peter the Snake. "Because I strike so fast!" he laughs. He actually looks like a very ordinary boy, except that he has a healthy glow from spending so much time outside, walking.

Ready for your first two Pokemon.

Heart show the Steel Badge of Dagny. "Not bad. You still have a long way to go boy. I not so much old myself, but I enough old to have good adventures. Anyway, if you are fast, than my pokemon is sturdy. Let me show you something cool." Then Heart takes Percival and Gargryph Pokeballs. "Show you two are made! Percival! And Gargryph!" Then the two sturdy pokemon have come. "Gargryph, I hope you are ready. Lets go!"

Peter tosses out an Arbok and a Pangoro!

Arbok: (5) + 4 Dex + 3 Survival = 12
Gargryph: (3) + 7 = 10
Pangoro: (2) + 7 = 9
Perceval: (1) + 7 = 8

When Heart see the Arbok, he couldnt help but feel sad. He remember Apsis and Ventus. "Damnit...I couldnt even have my chance to battle against him..." Think Heart. It still hurts the depart of Ventus and also the depart of Valder. But thats why he do that adventure...to forget even just a little the depart of Ventus and Valder. 

He decide to put aside that feelings and focus in the battle at hand. "Gargryph, focus in a more defencive style. Use Sandstorm, then go ahead with Substitute! Then use Ancient Power 2x against Arbok! If you receive the increase power of Ancient Power in the first or second, use Headbutt against Pangoro one or two times depending if you have your powers increase via Ancient Power!"

"Percival, focus in using your power against that foe! (Using 15 XP to teach Percival the move Iron Defense). Use Iron Defense to increase your defenses! Then use Iron Head against Pangoro! 4x! If any of you two receive to much damage (around half HP) I use a Potion!"

Sandstorm Accuracy: Dex (4) + Survival (3) + Nature (0) - Actions (5) = 2d6 (Using Will Point to make sure it will work)
Effect: All non-Rock, Steel or Ground Pokemon receive 1 Damage. The defense of Rock Pokemon Increase according to the Core Book. Last 4 Rounds.

Substitute Accuracy: Dex (4) + Survival (3) + Stealth (3) - Actions (6) = 4d6
Effect: User take 2 damage and make a decoy.

Ancient Power Accuracy: Dex (4) + Fight (3) + Canalize (3) - Actions (7/8) = 3d6/2d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) = 6d6
Effect: 1 Dice Chance to increase status

In case Ancient Power Increase power in the first strike or second:
Headbutt Accuracy: Dex (4) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (8/9) = 2d6/1d6
Damage: Power (3) + STR (3) = 6d6
Effect: D3 to flinch the foe

Nathan shows up in the lobby with Gallade.  Nathan yawns, looks around...

...sees Terra.

Nathan heads on over and gives the portfolio that Ventus had put together back to the big man.  "...there ya go...all done reviewing it...*yawn*...don't mind me...still trying to wake up a little...gonna go...see if Tanuki's available soon...*yawn*..." @Lord Windos

Gallade gives Shiva and Terra a polite nod and follows after Nathan.  Shiva, however, can probably tell that while he's not showing it on the outside, Gallade's feeling a strange mixture of happy excitement and nervous tension for some reason...

The rugged wanderer accepts the Portfolio and the skilled boy's comment with a smile and nod of his head, before saying: "Thank you, Nathan. Who's 'Tanuki', though? They sound important, like that Dagny and Chuckles..."

He also makes sure to return the psychic knight's courteous gesture too (Its only honorable/polite, and he respect the Pokémon greatly after their match against Lovely), before saying to them and their master: "Have a nice day, and good luck too my friends."

Not gonna get much more detail about that from Nathan atm, though.  He's already wandered off to sort out his stuff, grab some breakfast, and prepare for the day ahead.  Busy busy busy, and he doesn't want to interrupt Terra's conversation with Shiva.

Don't worry, really!~" To wash away any remaining confusions/wondering/concerns Terra may have, she does grant him a light and honest smile.

'The stars tell stories' - that sentence of the wandering monk Shiva does greatly enjoy, and she couldn't agree more which was indicated by her smile growing a bit more warm. She doesn't comment verbally however as her mind wanders high up into the clouds to dream herself to the starry skies. Haaah, being back at the surface and under the sky again was a good feeling indeed.

On that however, Shiva's not too sure whether she can agree or not; part of her would, but a bigger part of her is influenced by noble N's biased view on Pokemon Battling AND seeing some Pokemon she holds dear succumbing to pain was a look that she tends to take to heart. But, it was Terra who requested that battle, so she'll adapt to that without making a scene. Luckily a Pokemon Center was not too far away!

Waving Terra temporal goodbye for now, she told him that she'll indeed meet him in a few minutes, right after she cleaned up after herself as well, withdrawn Raphael and Vaporeon and arranged her team of six Pokemon on Bill's PC (It'll be secret, looking at the Party Listing Doc wll not reveal anything.) His 'Give it your all in battle for [he] will too' ringed back in her mind for a little, causing an anticipitated and slightly ominous feeling. So curious what Pokemon he owns and trained!

The thistles are investigated by Shiva with much interest, but she doesn't believe that any of her Pokemon would want to eat those.

Not too much time for things like that now though as there's a battle incoming! As for own preparations, two Pokemon appear in semi-privacy but nearby: An elegant bipedal fox whose fur resembles the robe of a wizard, and a female-looking figure held mostly in black and white that reminded on a goth lolita. They both gave out a feeling like having full trust in Shiva, and the air just around them almost brimmed with psychic energy. With a silent hand gesture, the fox took a deep breath and began a melodic chant that softly rolled over the whole scenery, filling everything from the leaves on a nearby tree to the dusty ground with a sense of luck. The other Pokemon remained completely calm, but she gave a highly concentrated appearance as she waved her arms a little; indulcing a feeling of DREAD and PAIN over the side of Master's opponent that will prevent any wounds from being healed.

"Hm....Okay then. Sorry for.....fussing about it. Its....hard for me talking with other people well sometimes, so I worry a lot about what I say to others." If all was really well with her, he could drop his own concerns, but the least he could do is inform her WHY he got that way to begin with. Communication is key, even if he's not all that well adjusted to it!

Any lingering doubts of offending the fair lady cleared away when she offer him several smiles from then only, which he returned with characteristic subdued stocisim, and simply enjoyed Shiva's company as he finished his breakfast, pondering about her as he did. 'Shiva...…..she has a good heart, shares it with others very easily, but seems.....sensitive. A very nice ….delicate lady....I'm glad that I can be her friend.'

'....No wonder Ventus loves her so much. Both seem to balance out each other, and make them better and more....complete than separate. Hm....hope they get back together someday....and that I don't screw that up and get eaten by boss' Dragons, *Shivers*...or worse …'

Terra had already prepared his own Pokémon before hand, so he didn't have any of them out as he took his place on his side of the stretch of savanna that would serve as the battlegrounds, arms crossed and looking calmly serious. He had already decided before hand to give himself a big handicap in order to make things more fair on the Fairy woman (as unlike with Nathan he could see/tell by now she wasn't nearly as combat orientated) so he felt that keeping his choice of Pokémon secret was fair too in this case. Of course, given that he didn't recognize either of her Pokémon, besides one was a Fire type and the other a Psychic, he didn't have that much of an advantage over her intel wise.

That doesn't matter in the end to the rugged wanderer, though. The only way to truly gauge an opponent was to fight them yourself or see them in action, after all. It was opportunity he was quietly anticipating as he stared at Shiva, patiently awaiting her finishing making her preparations so that their match could begin in earnest .
