[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
7* Dex would definitely be interesting to have.  Though I guess that'd mean we'd need another kind of supernatural limit breaker trigger or something to get there...

But on that note, here's a relevant question, @Iron: would it cost an additional 10 exp to increase a stat that's been boosted by a gym badge?  Say, would it cost 50 or 60 exp to increase Nathan's Dex again?  Or 40 or 50 for Heart to increase his if he were to get Tanuki's Gym Badge?

Me thought that an Atribute normally cannot be leveled beyond 5 and the +1 due to Gym Badges and 'more than human' is an exception to that...?

Since I certainly going to teach Golett Thunder and Ice Punch for better defense against Water and Grass types and get the benefit of Iron First, but what about Fire Punch? I very tempt to teach Rose such move, but she already have some cool Fire-moves such as Fire Blitz. Should I teach Fire Punch too to Golett or should teach another pokemon? Since Geodude learns too.

Geodude learning it would require GM approval since Fire Punch isn't listed in the book.

If you want to get the most out of Fire Punch, I'd say definitely teach it to Golett or Rose.  Iron Fist Fire Punch is just as strong as a STAB Fire Punch.  Golett would mostly get additional coverage out of it (it's pretty strong coverage, though), while Rose would get a more spammable STAB that has more than 2 Power without any major drawbacks.

Teaching it to one doesn't mean you can't teach it to the other, either.  You could always get another TM somewhere or get the move Tutored to the other as well.

I believe I mentioned that.  We have a boost to Insight already, so who's to say there aren't other boosts to Dex, Strength, and Vitality out there?

I'd actually suprise me if there were boosts for all Attributes, somewhat kills the feeling of 'It's an exception and something very special'. o.o

Even disregarding that very, very few would even have those exceptions in the first place?  And I think there's more to each one than 'you can mechanically raise that stat beyond its normal limits'.

It doesn't have to be completely 'one-of-a-kind' to be 'special'.

Hmm but still is a difficult choice. Some of Golett main treats have some good defenses against it: Thunder Punch for coverage against Water, Ice against Grass, and Rollout against Ice. Against Dark Golett have Rock Smash, but I cant use that move in no-official battles, and against Ghost he have the ghost moves.

Rose indeed could definitive get some boost of power with Fire Punch with a good Fire Move without drawbacks. But I may feel a little redudant because she already have her most powerfull Fire-move, the Flare Blitz even with the negative effect of Recoil. Maybe I could change her ability in the future when I get enough XP to let her use Iron First (who is her hidden ability). That way the power would be: Power(3) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + Iron First (1) = 8d6. More or less the same power as a Flare Blitz.

Dont know yet what to do...

I will say that Flare Blitz and CC will always be Infernape's most powerful attacks no matter what unless wonky rules bending stuff starts coming into play (Fire Punch has an effective 4 Power with IF, Flare Blitz has 5 Power).  The real value in Iron Fist on Infernape becomes clear when you factor in that it boosts Mach Punch and Thunder Punch too, making them rather respectable moves even disregarding the priority/coverage that they're almost exclusively used for normally.  So it's a choice between buffed Fist moves in general versus ludicrously powerful Fire STABs (primarily considering that Blaze buffs Flare Blitz while IF does not).

Another thing to consider is that Golett has nothing to hit Steel types for SE damage that isn't an AOE Ground move or a Fighting move with huge drawbacks.  Fire Punch could help it with that if you think that's a big enough concern.

Hmm looking in that side you right. Close Combat and Flare Blitz its already the most powerfull moves of Infernape, regardless of Iron First or not. Besides, Golett would have some use of Fire Punch for better better coverage and help against Steel types.

Okay then! I will teach Golett the Fire Punch then. I will sooner or later find another Fire Punch-TM to teach Rose, but she is already powerfull with Close Combat and Flare Blitz. Besides, a elemental Golett its something cool to have.

I should name him Aang or something...

Fire Punch is also useful for dealing with Grass and Bug types, since those blighteres resist Ground and the former does SE damage to Golett, so teaching FP to the little dude is more and more a good idea.
