[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
@Spiritmon: I would recommend not sending in Viktor until Tanuki has exhausted all her allotted Pokémon and one of them is NOT a bird of some sort, as she has plenty of Normal/Flying types that would make cutlets out of him and Rose. That, and Viktor's main STABs are mostly ineffective against them, and the only thing he has going is the fact that Sleep attacks won't work, so neither Noctowl or any other Normal type can force him into inactions.

Alright. I have make some changes when I see you commentary and Phantom too. Keeping Gustav in the battle then to see what is her next pokemon. If there is a Flying-type, its gonna be tough since any attack could potential KO Gustav (unless the dice screw Tanuki, but that would be too much luck). And there is a slight chance to counter attack flying types with Rose Thunder Punch. Hmmm....maybe depending in the next pokemon, Ambipom could be a choice. Fury Swipes+Silk Scarf+Nastly Plot+STAB. Huge damage. But lets see how this battle will go.

Given how much Pain that Gustav is in, I suggest you either burn a Willpoint for them to ignore it and use a Single Aura Sphere against Noctowl (To maximize the hit dice you have against it if it dodges), or do the same thing but with Water Pulse, and hope for a Confusion proc instead of a Never Fail attack. Or do something else, if you have another plan in mind!

Noctow problably have Insomia or Keen Eye so maybe he have some counters.

I know I should have summon Aura Sphere or Water Pulse, but any of those attacks can be dodge like Iron say. And I cant simple burn all of my Will Points that way @Lord Windos. Noctown either way would evade that attack.

Hm, should I bring Lairon and shoot Rock Tombs or other kind of moves? Or should I bring Ambipom and release some rage of fury swipes until that Noctown faints? Or maybe Rose with Calm to increase Attack and Defence and for with Close Combat + Mach Punch? Any tips people?

Noctowl are great Pokemon. No obvious hints from my side to keep at least some sort of suprise effect and prevent predicting from the foe's side, but with its moves the owl can safely attack both Caesar and Rose with SE-damage. If you'd bring the 4th Pokemon out now you'll be locked in your choice of Pokemon for the rest of battle - that's the risk to take, but sometimes it might be worth it!

No, save Lairon until she's sent out her last Pokémon, as if its one that can reliably chip away at Rock/Steel types but is not a Flying/type effective against Viktor, he's a better bet.

As for Noctowl, watch out for Hypnosis, Flitching Moves, and generally any sort of coverage that is available to it via its Level up and Breeding Move pools. Rose would be the best choice against it regardless, as if she's slower she can still use Mach Punch to cut Initiative, and Flare Blitz/Thunder Punch to nuke the damn bird before it can proc Sleep/Confusion and/or force it to Evade if they go first. I wouldn't recommend trying to set up on any of Tanuki's Pokémon given the tricks she employs, unless you thoroughly review each of her Pokémon's Movepools and can 'safely' judge to make that sort of risk.

*Raises Eyebrow* …I thought that we were supposed to root and support our fellow players, not deliberately keep them in the dark if we have usefull info. to give them, but to each their own.

Yeah....indeed bring Viktor would be a huge disavantage against me. And bring already my last pokemon would be a bad idea. Perhaps depending of the initial, maybe I should use Rose with Calm Mind to raise power and defence....

...But that would make me vulnerable to a attack like hypnosis, Flinch Moves or any other attack since any of Noctown STAB moves shall be Super effective for sure...either way its gonna be a tough battle....
