[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(10-04-2018, 02:16 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: That could be a interesting piece of information to be informed before I have begin to hunt one to be capture: "Hey Spiritmon, I would suggest you to not go after one because you cant train him to become a Aegslash". That would indeed help quite a lot, thank you very much.

Is there any other pokemon who I cant use that I need to know? If yes, please inform me. That gonna help me next time when we make another time travel and my char decide to hunt some good ol ancient pokemon.

I'm not saying you can't.  Like I said, I didn't want to influence your decision (nor ever really had any obvious reason for Nathan to drop the trivia IC until now), and I underlined the word 'Creshireans' for a reason.  If a foreigner showed up in Creshire with an already trained Aegislash (For example, Wilkstrom from the Kalos Elite 4, the only major NPC with an Aegislash in the games.  It also happens to be his signature pokemon), what do you think the 2017 League would do?

From what I know, I don't think they'd do much of anything at first, really.  That foreigner might get some...odd looks at least, but they'd still have their Aegislash.  I don't think any super extreme measures would be taken initially.

Now, I might be wrong.  Iron obviously has the final say on what would happen to a trainer owned Aegislash.  But as seen with Honedge and Doublade earlier in the campaign, the League is a little more...lax concerning using the evolution line than Creshire's royalty was.

In short, you'll need to ask Iron about some of the specifics, and then Nathan can inform Heart about them IC soon(ish) (provided I know what they are as well).

Hmmm...actually, lemme just link the post where Iron originally stated the Aegislash restriction, actually.  That's this post here.  The wording does suggest that only the Champion is allowed to raise an Aegislash...but again, it could mostly be a tradition thing.  Ask Iron for the exact details.  I'll stop blabbing and theorizing for now.  I could definitely be completely off track.

--------------------------

To my knowledge, no.  That's once again more of a question for Iron.  But in general, you should be able to use almost anything you want provided Iron makes it available somewhere in Creshire.  Key word: most.  The majority of Alolan pokemon are obvious exceptions.

Hmm...so I more or less can raise a Honedge to reach his final form, but there is the concern of the League might not be happy in see someone have Aegslash who is not a Champion. Now its explained. In that case, I will continue my hunt to have the slight chance in find one. I might go foward with, "screw the rules" and raise one since that "tradition" might be only happen to people who born in Cheshire like Nathan and not for outsiders like Heart who is a Sinnohsian. If anyone asks its because the Aegslash is owned by me from my travels. I have a Trevenant and a Clawitizer who comes from the same region as Aegislash, and Heart its a pokemon rare collector.

But I gonna ask anyway. @Iron, if by chance Heart find a Honedge/Doublade, and raise him to become a Aegislash, there gonna be huge problems to him since he is not a Champion? PM me to better to me keep that info or put here if you think its better.

Nathan knows that in modern Creshire, an Aegislash has never evolved or appeared for anyone but a Champion. It is a very very special Pokemon. Dusk Stone evolves Honedge, not Doublade, in Creshire.

Creshire Aegislash has special powers as a result of its special status, such as free Surprises and certain story powers.
There is no law against having an Aegislash but you wouldn't be able to use it in any high-stakes League battles under normal circumstances. And any trainer you met would be very confused to see you use one in a lower stakes battle.

BUT I am in favor of players being able to create the team they wish, so I'm willing to bend rules to make having an Aegislash possible for Heart. Just be warned it will probably be very very lategame before you amass enough power to get one, and you wouldn't be able to use it specifically in Gyms or Elite Four. (Against wandering trainers it will be fine).

In summary: Yeah you can get Aegislash, but it won't arrive until late in the game.

Maybe for our Pokemon to gain XP and test out their new Moves, though, since that's always a nice thing to do. I'd rather have a Friendly Battle (similar to the ones against Nathan/Shiva) , though, since those are much more epic, fun, and XP lucrative!

Keep in mind that Torchic Teeth can create Happiness Debt by dropping pokemon with 0 Happiness to -1.  I'm not sure dealing with a depressed Duskull is going to be enjoyable...

Camp Training also raises a Pokemon's Happiness by 1 along with Loyalty if I recall, so those two effectively cancel each other out. Even then, a more obedient if miserable Skull Ruins Ghost is better than a Happy but Willfully Disobedient one. I and Terra would like to be true friend with them, but that's going to take a loooot of work regardless of whether the Tooth is used or not.

I could always use the TT on Anubi to make them totally Loyal to Terra and further delay their Evolution, but I just can't find it within myself to make an already Happy Pokemon less so than a Pokemon that hates my character miserable.

Camp doesn't automatically raise Happiness by 1, but it contributes for any Pokemon who likes that sort of thing. For Duskull, I would say it depends on what Pokemon he meets there. He won't be too interested in the activities, but he might get up to some shenanigans after lights out.

I will let you choose either of those. Good thinking!

Welp, there goes that idea. Oh well, at least that means if we are stuck in King's Era for awhile we ain't without a source of first aid in a bottle.

Concerning Meowth's Pay Day, has he been with Terra long enough to cough up that $1000 Poke amt, and if so, could a Flashback Scene with Heart occur that has them double that payout with his Amulet Coin? They DID tell Terra all about that and gave permission, after all.

Given the no doubt time crunch (heh) that the group has in the past, farming and Crafting enough valuable Tears of Milotic would be too costly. That idea is a miss for now.

No contest then! I don't do longshots, especially if its bluntly stated it will be so!

Could a Max Potion (Explanation for look: 'Got bored, made it look different as challenge') be traded for a bred and trained HA Bunnelby, along with Pay Day muns?

Hmm......don't really have all that much collateral on me right now, save for Items I really don't want to sell and Pokemon (Definately not going to sell), so a battle is out. How about manual labor, or some menial task they can't be arsed to do to cover part of the cost?

Max Potions are very good - resale value is 1250$ in 2017 dollars. I don't keep track of things like Payday, that is all on you. If it's been triggered, it does make sense to me that your plan to double it with Heart would have gone through.

Its fair to me. A Aegslash seems to be a powerfull and important pokemon to the plot of the story, since its if Saminarok have one, than its looks really important. I dont mind in acquire a Aegislash very much lategame in this campaigh. If such pokemon have such status and power, its more than fair to be a difficult pokemon to evolve. Two last questions about it Iron: Its the Dusk Stone Evolves Honedge into Doublade or Honedge direct to Aegislash via the Dusk Stone? And if I choose evolve him to Doublade, are me still able to evolve him to Aegislash via another Dusk Stone or another method?

In that case, since Honedge its a Ghost-type I choose to Kecleon able to become Dark-type since its have a bigger advantage against that pokemon. And be able to use Sucker Punch in his maximum potential.

Rehearsals and good cabin construction stuff. In fact, I'm off to rehearsal now, which is why my post to Shiva ended abruptly. Sorry about that! I will get to all your actions tomorrow afternoon, I hope. Maybe not though! Busy busy busy!

We're rebuilding my driveway and backfilling the foundation!

Honedge and Doublade's evolution methods have just been swapped with each other.
