Realizing that there isn't much that Hida can do to the Magcargo, Spira says "Great job Hida, but that's enough, come back." He then talks to the lead Magcargo, "Thank you for the chance to test Hida's skills, I appreciate it."

Magcargo fwiggles his beard around like a turkey. He seems to think Hida is cute. Hida is enjoying the warmth up here compared to down in the valley.

With that, Spira gets ready to head back to the group.

Tension rises among the sensitive Pokemon. The herds of Mightyena are simply going about their business. None of the wild Pokemon seem to have any sense of anything being wrong...until the sky is set alight with blazing fire.

No amount of ash can darken the brilliant light as the meteor enters the atmosphere. A blazing aurora forms, in orange and blue and silver like the world's most luminous sunrise.

Now the wild Pokemon are looking at the sky, blinking and even whimpering. A noise begins, a terrible hissing and popping like water on embers. It comes from the sky, but no one can tell where this disaster will actually strike.

All you see of the meteor's progress and path is a fireball, so fast that you are mostly seeing its orange and blue afterimage. A line connects the heavens to the earth, striking a point midway between modern Teazel Valley and Botanville. A hundred Mightyena die instantly at impact.

You're miles from the impact site, but you feel the earth rumble and little bits of dirt rain down on you for close to ten minutes. You can take shelter in a nearby ice cave driving into a volcano's foothills, if you wish.
Nathan at least will be interested to observe that there's not as much dust as expected. Not enough to reduce the amount of solar energy coming down, not enough to choke breath away, not enough to change the composition of the atmosphere. Just the physical bombardment of small clods of earth. And a worrisome cracking noise.

Howling, the Mightyena and a thundering herd of Mamoswine flee eastward and northward, some passing very close to you. As 90% of them have passed the southmost prong of the Great Divide, a strange whirring noise emanates from the impact crater, along with a spray of laserbeams. Your Psychics flinch. A sudden wall of extremely thick Tall Grass slams upward, cutting off the final 10% of the Pokemon and trapping them here on the taiga.

Oh, and the Tall Grass Shiva has? I think Heart has some too? That grass begins growing, sending roots questing toward the soil.

A dim bipedal figure stands up within the crater, now visible as the dust has settled. It can be seen that it is vaguely humanoid, orange and blue in color, and possessing twin tentacles where each arm should be. This can only be one being: the legendary Deoxys, a sentient, mutating supervirus.

Its chest flashes, its tendrils plunge into the ground. Mindless clones appear and begin shepherding Pokemon about. What their agenda is, you cannot say, but even Terra knows he's witnessing a part of Creshire history that no one has ever, ever theorized before.

Gothitelle has her face buried in her hands. Dizzy and Calam seem to have gone insane, leaping back and forth in a frenzy, completely unsure about what to do, and knowing this has already happened. Delphox, though, is fascinated by the clones and keeps watching them. Sometimes they flash their otherwise-empty gems, communicating in a mysterious fashion as they go about their work. Shiva suddenly KNOWS that staring into those gems is another way to become More Than Human, but what impacts it might have, she has no idea.

Gallade is in a more appraising mood. He didn't know this would happen, but he seems to treat it as very valuable intelligence. Nathan's PTC starts pulsing, steadily increasing in frequency - a sign that another Lurch will come fairly soon. You'll need to survive until it does.

Humm. I'd guess that as well as the fact that Shiva feels protective over this unique Pokemon will lead to him being recalled for the being to be safe in his Ball to not witness the expected impact - the bond between these two is yet weak, and witnessing how his known surroundings are (for him suprisingly) hit by a huge rock from the sky doesn't seem like it'd do that bond any good.

Well Spira was going to leave the volcano until that meteor hit. He then notices the legendary Deoxys in the crater. "Not sure what that Pokemon is, but I don't want to risk leaving until it is gone."
mechanics: Spira will try and find a spot to hunker down at the volcano until the lurch.

You can rejoin the group before it hits if you like. I'll leave it up to you.

nah. Let's leave it as-is, except if the Deoxys group head toward Spira, he'll make a break for the group. (Hida is still out unless he has to leave.)

Eh, I'll keep thing short this time, but Shiva is F-R-I-G-H-T-E-N-E-D in every imaginable way possible, every wordy description would only barely make it to properly depict how S-C-A-R-E-D to the very core she was over what has happened. Never, NEVER she would have believed that THIS was coming, that THIS was coming there on the meteor - however, now as she was observing the whole scene with nothing but P-U-R-E S-H-O-C-K visible on her, it made SO much sense. Why... WHY has she not thought about THAT instead of just sitting there observing the sky, if she has that liking for Mythical Pokemon? How foolish, how naive, how blind she has been... But if she's being very honest, that blazing aurora in blue and orange was incredibly beautiful, she couldn't help but to admire it with awe. ALL of this happening was actually very awestriking.

What she also so does, is feeling incredibly lucky that she was able to save precious Primal Eevee from blatant doom here. Now, she also begins to see why Celebi has sent them all here to this particular time line.

She's very up to seek shelter in that ice cave to escape the instant aftermath of the impact, clutching herself and huddling up against the icy wall, all shivering despite her Ranger's cloak and Fire Types kept her warm. All silently, she eventually began to sob to herself, her tears as clear as the ice covering the walls. Ice... In a sudden flash of insight, she looked around - if her guess is right, she will recognize the mystified Ice Rock being nearby. How has Comite taken witnessing the impact, by the way?

Though what was most creepy to the sensitive fae enthusiast was not Deoxys itself, not the thought of the many burnt corpses of Mightyena or the trapped Pokemon and what will happen to them, it were these C-R-E-E-P-Y MINDLESS CLONES of it, how they had no soul inside and were shepherding Pokemon about for Reshiram knows which reason. Oh noble dragon of truth - Shiva'd give so much to have a Blue Flare of his scorcing the intruder from space.

Nope, by no means would she believe that becoming more-than-human by starring into these gem's flashes was a good thing in the slightest, and how Delphox was watching these clones with fascination was worrysome to her: With a short whistle she caught her magical fox's attention, gazing at him with eye full of DESPERATION and a STRONG desire for him concentrating on somethingelse. She was upriled in any means, but towards her dear Pokemon, she cannot allow herself to show weakness. She simply CAN'T... Means, she'll enwrap Gothy into a close, protective, heartmelting hug simply to express that she's THERE, that they're BOTH here, that they'll endure this if they only stick with one another. "H.... have no fear, Lilith... *held back sob, but a light smile nevertheless* I am here with... you... As long as I am, nothing will... happen to you..."

I feel a need to 'take care' of the *Tall Grass I've been carrying around, but Shiva will ONLY do so if it is safe to assume it won't catch Deoxy's or one of its clone's attention. I don't know, maybe it is somewhat connected to them, I'd like to avoid anything that might have a negative impact!

Correct - the Ice Rock is inside this cave! Oddly, it is toward the back, where the heat is greatest. The cave seems to end pretty close to the Rock there.

There are no signs of the Deoxys noticing your hideout. Rapidash and Delphox make quick work of the Tall Grass. It resists heat, but it can't survive a direct hit.

Comite is in the cave's mouth, watching the path of the meteor. That's pretty fascinating to him, since he was not brought to Creshire on a meteor, but knows his ancestors were. However, he's more interested in the psychic signaling of the Deoxys. It seems similar to the communication used by his kind.
