[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Oh deary......the Kadabra Chambers sound like an unholy cross between a Genus Loci, Time Trap, and Hidden Fairy Village, none of which are pleasant alone, but together...... Something tells me the group will end up in that place too at some point, or at least the 'opportunity' will present itself....

At this point, I'm wondering when the group will decide its time to delve into those god forsaken Skull Ruins, or more likely, what will force them to investigate....

On a less torturous and exhausting subject, what do you think Nathan's reaction will be once he sees that Angie has grown into a Dunseraph, despite it only being less than a 'week' since her evolution (If we count the days during the Time Travel, its been.....about four or five days since her hatching)? I know Nathan shares a interest in her, and she'd no doubt be rather interested in getting to know him better now that she's a full fledged Dragon.

He'll probably be surprised, but only because she evolved so quickly.  He doesn't know the exact conditions for Dunseraph's evolution.  Only that it has to do with 'Dunsparce learning to fly' or something 

He'll be very happy to see she's evolved, though, and will probably want to spend a little time with her.

It also sounds like the perfect excuse for Marco to be stuck despite having the ability to FLY out of there if he can get a clear shot at the sky.  If time runs extremely slow in there compared to the outside world, he could easily still be trying to find his way out despite 3 years of time passing.

Soon as Nathan can get a permit, he'll want to check out those Kadabra chambers for obvious reasons.  There's also those four artifacts that we'll have to find to stop whatever dark thing is corrupting the Ruins...that's probably going to be an adventure in and of itself...

Funny thing is, due to Nathan's Noble Bloodline, he's the only person in the group besides Terra that could have a chance of ordering her around, though a 1 Loyalty vs 4 Disobedience Roll ain't exactly good odds to overcome for him. At the very least, she'll be more attentive and consider his orders/request, rather than outright ignoring him.

Or he could be easily dead, due to the ample amount of spooks and 'magical' things wearing him down. The Skull Ruins takes no prisoners and pulls no punches, as both Ventus, Terra, and Heart can attest....

While going to the dread dead dungeon is the last thing he wants the group to do, Terra would be willing to accompany Nathan on his search for his father, as his duty to protect him is automatically overridden by his earnest desire to reunite a family and help his friend out. As for the Artifacts, Terra would be interested in collecting them to, and has a definate interest in the sword and shield (the former or which might interest Heart too, due to his ancestor's request of him), but he's rather leery of going to search the Ruins for them anytime soon upon returning to the present, as he feels he and everyone else is way too under prepared/strong enough to endure the place for any great length of time.

Another way you could look at it: if Terra were to trade Angie to Nathan when she has exactly 4 Loyalty, he's the only one she'd 100% listen to (provided the orders don't conflict with her own interests) because his +1 Loyalty bonus would cancel out the -1 Loyalty from trading.  She'd still lose -1 happiness from being sad about being traded, but Nathan would command enough respect from her (figuratively speaking) still that she'd listen to him.

Let's try and stay positive here.  There's plenty of other things that could have happened to Marco (some good, most bad).  He's capable, though.  Even if he's stuck in the Ruins, he could easily tough it out. Nathan earnestly believes that despite knowing the full extent of the Skull Ruins' reputation second hand...

In any case, the more we learn about what's in the Ruins and what caused them to become a breeding ground for Ghosts, the more interested OOC I am in seeing what's waiting for us down there when we inevitably explore them...

This Black Friday isn't really a thing here where I reside. Some big retailers are giving discounts in the means of 'What works well over there in the United States, could be worthy of doing here as well', but people don't storm into stores like crazy. I just find it somewhat inappropriately that such a consumption-oriented event takes place the day right after Thanksgiving.

Back on topic, to update-reading myself.

I only need to read that there's a mysterious chamber called Kadabra Chambers in the Ruins full of Psychic Types and a rumor about one being able to make a pact with the devil or - more importantly - fairies♡ to know that Shiva would definitely wish to experience this place herself; while being armoured with fitting Pokemon, at best enough Gym Badges for an additional point in all four Attributes and her wits on high alert that is. And never tell a word to Ventus about this because he'd probably die out of blatant fear for her safety and shock over such a thing/place existing. :o

I don't have anything to add at the moment, am just patiently waiting for progress. But, @Dragonstrike, if Nathan could share what he has been told about this particular Chamber in-chara at a fitting opportunity please, I'd be really thankful! She'd rejoice to try finding out more about the myths and rumors surrounding it given her interest in arcane + magical topics.

I would believe that more we all know about the Ruins, the better and sooner we can prepare for when it'll be time to eventually venture in there, that time will sooner or later come. I agree with Phantom in this case. Between the five of us, Shiva is the one with the deep and better connection with Psychic AND Fairy types. Not to mention her Cottonee was bless to by Jirachi Wish Tag of strength too so that's another thing to consider. So in my view, share that vital information would be the most wise decision. Unless you want to become some sort of sacrifice to Fairy pokemon? Or only tell everyone that important information only when it's too late?

I'm not saying he definitely won't, I'm just not sure if he will.

Mostly I'm uncertain about that because of how Shiva reacted to the Relic Stone.

If we end up going there eventually, Nathan will certainly tell all involved about what to expect, or will have at an earlier point.

There's also the matter of trying to separate fact from fiction.  All of what Nathan heard could be true, but it's all just as likely to be false.  As Elminster said, 'How would anyone know if nobody's ever returned from there?'  The Ruins being what they are, though, you can't discount the seemingly unexplainable from being possible.
