Heracross considers, then agrees. He puts his arms down and comes over to share some Honey with Heart. He's holding one unit of Honey you can add to your char sheet if you like. Then he shows Heart all his moves - his flight, his punches, his kicks, his Swarm. Hopefully Heart has some feedback about what potential can be unlocked there!

Spira'll go to the volcano and maybe collect soot, but he'll definitely be spending time there with Hida.

Hida is a simple Pokemon. He enjoys doing simple tasks with Spira. He doesn't stay on task very well, opting instead to leave trails through the soot.

Survival: (4)(3) You collect one unit of soot. It's nice and thick here.

There are other Slugma living on the slopes of the volcano, as well as Torkoal, Heatmor, and Numel. You also see Magmar tracks.

For Rock types, you see all the Roggenrola line, a Rhydon, and some strange fire-adapted Shuckle and Crustle with obsidian carapaces. Looks like humans have been hunting the obsidian Pokes.

Spira finds something to put the soot in, "This handkerchief ought to do." Then Spira sees the other Slugma and a plan begins to hatch, a plan to evolve Hida, that is. "Hida, for now, I'd like you to stay with these other wild Slugma, I'll be back for you soon, that I can promise." Spira then takes particular notice to the obsidian-laced Shuckle, he goes over to observe the variant Pokemon. Not going to engage it in a battle, though.

Hida shrugs and explores a little with the other Slugma.

Shuckle's shell is shiny and black, with little white snowflake patterns. The Pokemon only extrudes the barest nubs of head and legs, waddling along like a Shelgon to avoid the heat. Instead of berries, it seems to be roasting various nuts. A really good smell emanates from the Shuckle.

With that done Spira leaves the volcano, and Hida, then rejoins the group in the nearby rainforest.

Hida gives you the googly eyes as you leave, then gives a sluggish shrug and heads to play with his new Slugma pals. He trusts you.

Purrloin looks normal, maybe a little bigger but sleeker. You can see how the two spots on her head produce a dappling effect to camoflauge with sunlight through the tree canopy. When she becomes a Liepard, her spotted coat will do an even better job.

Purrloin spits out a few seeds you recognize as Aspear berry seeds. Doesn't seem all that hungry. Purrloin nods when Shiva asks her question. She slinks in and out of the dappled shadows to show how great this habitat is for Purrloin. If she spots that Trumbeak feather, she'll try to play with it - but this might risk hurting the feather.

Heart nod his head, clearly impress. "Impressive! Arm Thrust, Pin Missile, Close Combat, Bullet Seed, along with many other strong moves. Heh, you will quite fit very well in my team Heracross. And pretty dang useful ability Swarm! Very similar to Torrent or Blaze, but for bug types. And if I recall, you species can learn Guts and Moxie (as hidden ability). Guts might be useful in case we find a Poison Orb to be equipped. But Moxie is very powerful to faint foes and grow stronger. And with such powerful STAB moves you have you quite able to leave some scars in your foes."

In resume: Heart love the style of Heracross. "I think I could even give you a name for you. Its already a tradition to me name all my pokemons. You are strong and fierce and also a giant battle beattle. Lets see." He think for a few seconds then snap his fingers, finding the perfect name. "Hercules. The legendary greek demi-god Hercules. A legendary and powerfull hero from the greek mythology, and also the name of a species of beattle: Thhe beattle Hercules who is the strongerst species of beattle in the world. I think its a great fitting name to you."

"But first, let me take a check in both of you." Heart let out Gustav and ask him to give Heracross a healing patch. "One potion for you Netune, since you get hurt during the battle."

I hope this Purrloin walks on a fours, I never got used to the image of it being pictured as bipedal in the anime and Gen.7's sprites ._. . (Clever thinking on that feather also!)


Seems like her guess turns out correct, Purrloin originally lived in rainforests loooong ago. While that feels rather weird and suprising for Shiva when she's being so used to these cats strolling through the streets without much fear, she kinda enjoys that aspect. This alone already makes her wishing to maybe get a hold onto this exemplar!

That Trumbeak Feather however Shiva's very protective about; she either snatches it from a nearby bush if she hasn't collected it yet; all while giving that Purrloin a look that clearly speaks that 'This is no toy for ya!' Despite it technically is, you get the point."Nonononono, bad kitty. That's mine, that's my toy, my treasure, MINE! You want that feather? Nope, I have to disappoint you. >:V " Her expression lights up. "I've got a LOT of other and better things you can play with. You like feathers? Catching and going after birds? Here, I've got even THREE feathers, choose one!~" She overly-dramatically presents an unremarkable but very soft feather from a Noctowl (originates from the Crafting Floor in the Dept.Store), a big and deeply-scarlet one from a Weavile (Mt.Sentry) and a small and purely white one from Raphael.

If Purrloin agrees, Shiva will play catch with that cat for a bit to break the ice, near the end she'll suggest "If you wish to see that Trumbeak Feather again, then... Well, THEN there's only one way to do so. The choice's yours... You'd be up to stick with me? We could even go hunting for birds once together...! "

I'm thinking you'd have to train a Purrloin if you wanted it to walk on two legs. Maybe it's a city thing.

Purrloin demands to play with all three feathers! Her favorite seems to be the Weavile one. Nevertheless, Purrloin has forgotten all about the Trumbeak feather after being given three new choices.

Purrloin's Pay Day move is special. Instead of creating money, it creates berries! Once per battle, it will produce a randomly rolled berry. Every other time it is used, it produces an edible berry that you might use in cooking. For example, a Pirsif berry.
+1 XP for whoever thinks of the best name for this "new" move.

Shiva gets 2 XP for the capture.


Side note, I think it's interesting how you players often gravitate automatically toward Pokemon that synthesize really well with your team. I mean there was nothing to say this Purrloin had anything to do with Shiva or berries, yet the trainer who captured her is the one who can best make use of her specialty.

Any attempts to reason or talk her out of things were the practically LAST things Shiva wanted to hear in this case, she tried hard to block these out and concentrate only on Raphael and the smol Baby Form of the archangel. That blatant unhappiness she managed to pick up from the latter through the sphere was enough to insta-melt her soft heart like a Castliacone under the summer sun. However, please only under the compromise that you'll keep me updated on these Pokemon of Juni. Let me know when I can...come and see them, alright? Please."

++ Onwards to the foraging session in the rainforest habitat++


Shiva loved it to dwell in this area. It was almost scary how quickly she seems to have 'recovered' from having to leave poor Togepi there. The whole time she sported a small smile, she was interested in simply everything around here; like a child in a toy store would be. The difference was that HERE, Shiva could touch, investigate and take along everything and as much as she wanted without anyone objecting or asking her to calm down, and by no means she'll let such a chance go to waste! Especially since this Great Forest will be logged completely soon. :C

With Tropius', Cottonee's and Lilith's(/Telekinesis) help she gathers a bit of EVERYTHING to take with her, what exactly she'll do with it she can still decide later. About some parts she's already sure, like that Kobra-tongued Fern and the Ivory Nuts, that Aipom Orange was just too cool to leave alone. She'll collect 3 fruit from the Honey Tree with the grassy sauropode's help.

Now, about that Trumbeak Feather: Shiva's amazed by that feather. Finds it incredibly beautiful and worth more than sole money, it's a feather of a soon-extirpated bird! She'd like to have a few strands of it, just enough to make it into a small pendant to add it to her worn talisman consisting of that duskglass shard from the Fortune Hunter, then Terra can have it if he likes to turn it in for profit in 2017.

*Flashback!*

Terra couldn't help but let out a *Sigh* of relief as Shiva agreed to hand over Togepi to Thrawn, albeit it with a great deal of reluctance on her part. Admittedly, he frowned a little harder at seeing just how poorly she took having to give up the angelic hatchling, and her lack of faith in the League was.....mildly troubling and disheartening (as he had at least great respect in their governance, his own 'pragmatic' heroic tendencies/morality aside), but he still gave her a small, kind smile for her choice, along with head pat. No matter her outlook or perpesptive on various things, the fae lady was his friend, so he wasn't going to despair/worry over her less than positive feelings unless they become a legitimate problem, and just accept her for who she is. 

"Thank you, Shiva. League will take care of Togepi, so please.....don't blame them for wanting them. Okay?"

Regardless of her response, the rugged wanderer releases her , and in due time the pair make their to the jungle to forage for all sorts of herbal goodies!

.....But not before he witnessed the exchange between the mystical lass and Nathan, and how it left the later looking.........uncomfortable and sad.

This caused the sagely monk's stoic expression to become.....inscrutable as he glanced at his friends and tried to figure out what was going between them, before he let closed his eyes and let out a *Sigh......* to himself, shaking his head slowly all the while.

'.......Looks like Nathan........is having problems with Shiva. Hm........will have to talk him later about it. *Nods* Bring Angie with me too. She and him like each other, and he......enjoy company of Pokemon very much. Maybe it will.....make him feel better. Hm....'

With that thought trailing off, we transition to the next scene.

Since its been implied that all those Rare Plants are for the taking by Shiva and Terra, he'll get as many of each one as he can if it doesn't take an Encounter, as he's very much interested all the sorts of things he can do with them (With the Umbreon Hook being a particularly fascinating Item for him!). For the Honey Tree, [b]he'll be trying to get as many bottles/units of Honey as he possibly can, as he knows the sweet treat is not only one of the fastest ways to earn a Pokemon's trust and Happiness, but its just good, non-perishable food !

As for the Trumbeak Feather, he's extremely grateful that Shiva let him keep it, and of course lets her take some material from it to do with as she wishes. Its the least he can do for her generosity, really!

The steely brawler heart leaped up his throat when one of the predatory pitcher plants tried to swallow Anubi, but heave a GREAT big *SIGH* of relief when they managed to free themselves and serve up some flaming hot retribution simultaneously. In the end, both Tommy and Anubi managed to dispatch both the Giant Grass types with relative ease and minor injuries, causing him to proudly smile at them both for their accomplishment.

"Tommy, Anubi......you have done very well. Both of you worked together, taking down the plants quickly and with little injuries. Now, they won't be a threat to anyone,anymore .*Turns to Anubi specifically* Especially happy and proud of you, Anubi. You trusted and respected my orders, and stomped on those plants good. *Turns Tommy now* Happy with as well, Tommy. Supported your partner well in battle, and made us some Poke too. *Regards both of his Pokemon equally*  Thank you for your hard work, my friends. "

After saying this, he bends down to give the blue bomber and the tom cat some well deserve pets, much to their mutual enjoyment. Anubi can't help but feeling thrilled at both pounding some nasty Pokemon into the dirt and his partner's 'lavish' praise/affection, while Tommy appeared outwardly aloof and smuggly satisfied at cashing out those weeds, but inwardly was pleased with his boss' ministrations  too. He may be a wild feline at heart, but that he didn't enjoy being pampered like a house cat at times........just not too much.

Once Terra caught both of the Overgrown Victreebell (As his Pokedex so helpfully informed them of what they were) and he recalled both Anubi + Tommy for some rest, he decided to make his way back to where the group arrived, exploring the jungle and taking his time as he did so and picking up any and all the Rare Plants/Interesting Items he could get along the way (If getting his share of those Rare Plants counts as an Encounter; otherwise, he's just wandering around looking for interesting things/waiting for something interesting to happen to him). Shiva had disappeared to who knows were into the undergrowth during his Fight, but since she wasn't screaming for HELP, he figured she was doing fine on her own and he needn't go off tracking her down. 

Guardian of her and the group as he was, if he knew his friends could take care of themselves in a most situations, he was somewhat content with leaving them to their own devices and/or fend for themselves. Simple as that.
