Gonna be traveling tomorrow, and then I'll be with my family! Woot!

I'll lock the thread before we begin the Safari Cup or December 24th, whichever comes first. Unlocked on the 26th I think.

Have safe traveling then, I hope you'll arrive well! I appreciate these breathers during holidays etc. as they are good opportunities for me to reenergize and spent time with other things without a subconscious worry of missing in-game progress and similar.


I can only speak for myself naturally, but it almost certainly will be 24th December before the start of Safari Cup - all of us aside from Heart are just done with their first Encounter Slot, and my plans for the rest of the current Day are
- spending 2nd Encounter gathering plants and crafting material in the SafariZone
- spending 3rd Encounter in one chosen Safari Zone Level to meet/catch/fight the Pokemon there

Sounds alright and doable from your side? That way I was thinking I can fully concentrate on the Volunteer Ranger Duties during the Cup.

I'm also having two mechanical questions I'd like to ask:
- Is it possible to enter the Safari Zone without participating in the Cup or as a VolunteerRanger at all? Weird question, I know, but I'd mostly just wish to explore the area a bit during my third Encounter Slot. How much is the entry fee for one Encounter and how many Safari Balls are provided then?
- Will there be time to gather plants and crafting materials during the VolunteerRanger Duties? Given one will get to see various Levels then I can gather more than solely during my second Encounter, and it'll save money.

You can't get in the Zone without the permit. The only options without a waitlist are the ones listed in the Encounter List, though you could always pay the fee and come home early.

Yeah we'll just leave it. Heart would have used the Potion a little earlier given the possibility of Blaze, and the Slam vs Flamethrower being a few dice short pretty much cancel out.

250$ per Encounter Slot for the Gathering Permit, I'm having no problem paying 500$ to visit the Safari Zone this Day, and it should not be a problem for Shiva to proof knowledge about how to not take too much from a plant. Where can that Permit be obtained? And would it be okay if Shiva would for now 'just' figure out where notable plants/trees etc. grow to revisit them during downtime and look for some Pokemon in the Zone today? Can a batch of Safari Balls be rented together with the Permit? It's okay if it costs extra.

You know, the main reason I got Sky Uppercut for Michael was not to get another powerful Fighting Move for him, but just to fulfill the guy's dream of punching birds straight out of the air. If I were being strictly logical with his XP, I would have spent it on Seed Bomb, as he only has the dinky Absorb as his primary Grass STAB (which is just sad without Technician to back it up), and plenty of other good Fighting Moves, not the least of which is ROCK SMASH.

In fact, compare to his other Fighting STABs, Sky Uppercut is just worse than them all in some aspect, and unarguably in Accuracy. Mach Punch is less powerful but has Priority, Drain Punch heals and damage deals, and ROCK SMASH is both stronger and has super useful effects. The only thing that SU does is let Michael hit Flying Pokemon and jump good, which isn't all that good imo. So purchasing SU was not exactly the wisest decision, from a competative perspective.

Still, I went ahead with it, as again, I just wanted to make Michael happy. Strange how attached we get to our creation that we put their desires ahead of more optimal play, eh?

@Dragonstrike: Is Nathan going to Terra for a free $5000? Like I said, my character would be more than happy to help out, and it help square off the debts between them!

@Spiritmon: Hey, remember that Spirit Tag and Life Orb you got awhile back? Now that I have the Poke, Duskull is going to become a lot more tractable in the future, and Lapis learned Recover, I would like to purchase them off you. My starting offer I'd give you is $2000 Poke for the Spirit Tag, and $6000 for the Life Orb. I'm paying what should be the max value of the Spirit Tag to both be fair to you and the fact that it's also useful for Golett (And therefore I need to make a higher bid), but only a little bit above the bottom price of LO, since only Terra's bulky to ultra Bulky Pokemon can really get a use out of it without outright putting themselve in constant jeapordy (Shiranui, Lapis, and Angie), while arguably only Rose (If she just stuck to spamming Flare Blitz, which already has Recoil, so LO just gives that Move + 2 Damage), Gargryph (Passive Regeneration could help...), and D-Onix (Bulky Snek, can learn Roost potentially) could use LO 'safely'.

In sum, Heart would get $8000 Poke out of the deal (which is nothing to sneeze at) while Terra gets Items that would help him greatly but wouldn't serve you as well. How does that deal sound?

@PhantomUnderYourDesk: What is the rest of Shiva's Encounters for this day, dear? If its possible, I'd like to get started on teaching Shiranui Bullet Punch (If their is a PC in TV that I can grab him from to temporarily swap with Michael) or Tailwind to Genie (If their is no PC). Pangroo's help with Bullet Punch training would also be greatly appreciated in the former, but I'm not sure which Pokemon in the group has Tailwind that could help Tutor Genie that Shiva could borrow to help Tutor her favorite dragon.
