Hmmmm...Nathan thinks for a moment...then turns to address the others present.

"...I'm gonna take a look around outside.  See if there might be anything in the immediate area that was left behind since the Scims probably left as quickly as they came.  Maybe they left some clues behind in their rush to get in and out."

Basically, Nathan wants to try and figure out which direction the Scims fled in (and maybe how they escaped) if at all possible.  The attack on the shack was fast and surgical, but it wasn't stealthy.  As they say, haste makes waste.

Calam and Gallade are helping Nathan with this task, of course.  And Calam's probably very experienced with these kinds of searches, too, which would also help a lot.

That's an Insight+Survival+Alert check, -3 because you're in the city.

(5)(5)(2)(3)(1)(1) (4)(3)

You find a place in the gravel driveway where they scooped up a bunch of pebbles. They were coming from the direction of Keni's house at that point. Then they left straight west, along the road out of town, shedding bits of dust and shingle and sawdust. Calam nods when you voice this deduction.

No sign that they visited Juni or the old warehouse hideout.

"They were headed west when they left...and they came from the direction of where they set off that Earthquake...that means they were probably headed straight to..."

Nathan takes a few pictures of the evidence with his pokedex, carefully stands up from where he was kneeling, and heads back to the shack to tell the others what he found.

"I think I know where the Scimitars went from here.  Pretty obvious to us in hindsight, really, but every bit of proof helps.  I took some pictures of the trail they left behind.  They were headed west, which means they were probably headed to the Almanac Labs since they've got a base of operations there.  If we act fast, we might find Keni, my uncle, and the missing cards there...assuming we can find that hidden Scimitar base, that is..."

Nathan's demeanor is still a little distant and calculating, all business.

"...problem is, we'd probably have to convince the police to investigate the place to get anywhere near it...the Scims might also try to flee if we cause too much of a commotion while searching...hmmm..."

Heart was very much grumpy after the discussion with Shiva. "The last slap in my face if it she suddenly become a Scimitar too. The way she talk about them, I have my doubts."

He step by step trying to focus in the situation on hand. "*Sight* No time to think that. Need to find clues. I can think that later." Heart then release three of his Pokemon: Xatu, Honckrow and Meowth. "Sorry to bother you three. The Scimitar attack this and take two people hostage. You two will fly to see clues in the air. Meowth you and I will look in ground for anything strange."

@Iron Insight (3) + Survival (3) + Alert (3) to find anything strange or odd.

Spira snaps out of his little reverie when Nathan addresses him "Uh, yeah, coming." He shakes off the anger at the Scimitars for the unnecessary carnage and goes with them.

In which case, Spira gets to see the state the ramshackle trading card shack is in (clearly broken into, but mostly intact) and he also gets to hear where Nathan thinks the Scimitars went with the stolen goods and kidnapped people (the Almanac Labs to the west) sooner rather than later.

Nathan briefly explains some stuff to Spira for convenience's sake as well.  "That building that Almanac was building three years ago on the Cress Cliffs, when Juni attacked my dad?  They're done now.  And almost nobody outside Almanac really knows what's going on in there since it's private property.  There's a fence around the place with warnings about trespassing.  And unlike the Scimitars, Almanac isn't making any illegal activity they may be conducting very obvious.  It's gonna be hard to get in, and almost impossible to do so unnoticed."

Spira would also probably notice that Gallade is even more tense and serious looking than he was just before Nathan started talking about Almamac's building. And it was most noticeable when Nathan said 'almost nobody'.  Hmmmm...

Calam's still just as stoic as before, but he looks 100% ready for action!

*roll*

You've already found everything there is to find. With aerial observations, you can be confident no other targets were struck.

Calam shakes his head when you say this.

Nathan raises an eyebrow at first, but then chuckles, laughing at himself soon afterwards.  "...shoulda known you'd have a way in...and out as well, I'm assuming?"  Nathan's also half looking at Gallade as he asks Calam that.  Ever since learning that Calam is 3 year old Dizzy, he's been wondering if the Absol had more to do with how Ralts ended up in the forest back home than he first thought...

Yup, that's definitely hard to miss for everyone present (Spira, Shiva, and possibly Angela).  Particularly since Calam hasn't been very cuddly at all during this investigation.  Even a small gesture can speak volumes...

The full meaning of all of this is probably a little lost on Spira and Angela at the moment, though, since Nathan hasn't told either of them the story about how he first met Ralts yet.

You can tell from a reaction Gallade has that Calam didn't bring him to Trillium, that Gallade reached that place himself through lots of strife, but that doesn't mean Calam had nothing to do with it.
