[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Gonna need still that Baashaun boots to increase stealth. Gonna save them myself and find a way to get them.

Let me just elaborate on the current situation a little.

We're being attacked by a veritable army of Scims.  Last time Iron described something like that, there were around 50 of them.  This time, there's even more because we're in their home turf.  Those 20 Scims plus their leader?  That's not the last of them.  There's probably at least another 30 or so left that can't currently attack us because there's too many of them.

We're in the middle of that horde, and there's an incredible amount of chaos in the midst of this battle.  At this point, it's probably impossible to trade items with each other.

Even if we do manage to KO all of the Scims, there's more in the base.

And we know next to nothing about that alternate dimension, making Keni our only reliable way to get anyone out of it.

Think a little about the sheer odds we're facing already.  The only reason this encounter is 'winnable' at all is because we have a way to escapeafter achieving our original goal.  Anything beyind that goal is likely doomed to fail.

Then what you expect me to do? Leave Rose, Cottonee, Azu and everyone else to become slaves of those Scims? What if those demons have capture Gallade? Or Calam? Wouldn't Nathan move mountains and hell itself to save them too?

If we going that path, the next time Heart meet those Scims, he will have 0 mercy. He will simple torture them and make them spilled the information.

Them kill them. They are monsters, them Heart gonna be the monster of monsters.

The ONLY instance of brainwashed pokemon that we've seen so far is the Solosis line, and that required the use of very delicate technology that was specifically designed for that exact evolution line (which was presumably susceptible to it because of the species' natural traits).  We have no reason to believe that the Scims are capable of completely dominating the Will of our pokemon (particularly since the Reuniclus tried to do that to us and failed automatically)

Just because we need to run does NOT mean we're leaving the captured pokemon behind.  The best thing we can do for them right now is to save Keni and ourselves, or all the work they put in and any sacrifices they've made will have been for naught.

Yes, if Gallade or Calam were captured, Nathan would be pissed and possibly a little depressed and want to do anything to save them.  He would NOT do something that would ultimately 100% lead to him being unable to save them, though.

Shiva has a little info about this extra-dimensional situation, definitely try asking her.

...well, I WAS going to ask if we wanted to risk the Scims getting high enough in the initiative order for Trick Room to be useful since I hadn't seen any solid responses on that and we kinda got off topic.  That was supposed to be the first question.

The second question is should I use Trick Room now that we have an initiative order?  We definitely get the drop on Cosh, but the mob is still low enough in the initiative that it might be detrimental to reverse the initiative order since it becomes that much harder to thin their numbers before they get to act in each Round.

Going off of game mechanics, the first set of Actions might be unaffected by Trick Room since the turn order would already be progressing, but the second set on would all definitely be affected by it.

Well, I hope you're done now with soft-fighting and agree to disagree, discussing in lenghts when both parties appear set on their opinion and not up to compromise tends to lead nowhere and costs energy and time that could be used differently.

After having update-read myself now I'll start typing up my actions and orders, headache forces me to take things a bit slower today. Basically, I'm up for anything that might bring us an advantage in this fierce battle, this includes Trick Room (My gut feelings say yes to that suggestions and I trust them). I'm NOT up to surrender or run away when we're so close to making it in a spectacular way!~

Iron, was about to say about that about Sideways, thanks for that.

Something I also wanted to ask, @Dragonstrike: About which Cress Card are you actually talking there, I'm a bit confused what you mean as that Unfinished Card that'll bring us back to Keni's studio is in my hands and I thought we'll use that one to escape? Mind to explain to me please?

Phantom, I'm very, very concerned for the well being of the entire party in this scene.  Someone needed to make it clear exactly how deep the water we're in is.  This isn't the time for arguably rash actions, particularly when it's been made very clear IC just how dangerous the current situation is and that there's not much we can do about certain things in the immediate moment.

--------------------------------------

Main question I'm trying to answer is if Trick Room is advantageous at all for us with the initiative order the way it is.  To be honest, it comes down to who do we think is scarier: the mob, or Cosh?

W/O Trick Room, Gallade and Porygon-Z are the only ones going before Cosh, but they, Gothitelle, Tropius, and Kecleon all move before the mob does.

With Trick Room, everyone except Gallade and Porygon-Z goes before Cosh can, but the mob is only outsped by Gustav and Heart.

@Iron's not rolled any initiative yet for Hida and Noire, either, though.  That might also factor into the decision.

---------------------------------------

...seriously?

The only reason we know what the Unfinished Cress Card can do at all is because we've seen the effects before: back when a Finished Cress Card that Dizzy found (along with evidence that a Scimitar had been holding it at one point) teleported us out of Mt. Sentry.  It's why Nathan hypothesized that the Scims might have wanted Keni's art so they could fast travel.

Nathan kept that card, remember?  It can also be used an infinite amount of times because it's Finished.  Shiva isn't the only one with a method of escape for the group.

I'll be snoozing here in Central Europe by that time in the U.S. unless insomnia keeps me awake, but I can try to stop by in the morning for short. Until then, happy working~
