Pyroar won't go near Charizard. He knows that species too well, and Charizard's appearance is scary.

*sigh*  Well, the Charizard thing was worth a shot, I suppose...guess my other plan is gonna have to wait, then...Nathan will also bring Orthros back, though, since I do remember that they at least got along well.  He and Pyroar can play together for a bit if they want.

Mostly just waiting on Sceptile to show up now.  We can maybe come back to Pyroar afterwards.

Well after the bonding session with Noire (are ya gonna do anything with it?) Spira gets ready for the Gym battle, swapping Azazsga back out of his party for Fangma (unofficial nickname) and with that, he's ready to roll! On to the gym battle.

Hummmmm. Shiva expresses towards Foreman Fortescue that both isn't much of a problem for her, as she's 'not here to catch rare Pokemon in the first place, she's mostly interested in snatching two exemplars of Sunstones she can keep as a payment for the work done'. Okay, and maaaybe one or two shards of duskglass, but that she does not speak out aloud. She's sure that if she puts some effort into finding a Thunderstone for a possible Primal Jolteon later, she'll manage to grab or simply buy one at last.

That Sudowoodo must have been very concentrated on their 'Me is not a Pokemon, me is a tree~!'- shenanigans, maybe they have already developed roots. Either way, they are blocking the path, so it's THEIR fault that they get fainted now! It's nothing personal, Shiva just wishes to get the job done properly. "Alright, Gloom, this will likely be a quick battle, nothing too challenging. Please show me and your opponent a graceful dance enveloped in raging petals!"

She hasn't yet seen that Diggersby in Terra's care, so now she stares at the glittering sparkles it leaves behind. "Whoahw, Terra, where did you got that shiny rabbit from? :o "

Did we already have a Rampage Move being used or shown? I guess not.

Appearantly I can decide how long the Rampage will last, that's neat. Let's say 3 Actions in this case.

Accuracy Roll Gloom's Petal Dance 1: 4 Dext + 3 Fight + 6*Channel - 3 Actions = 10d6
Accuracy Roll Gloom's Petal Dance 2: 4 Dext + 3 Fight + 6*Channel - 4 Actions = 9d6
Accuracy Roll Gloom's Petal Dance 3: 4 Dext + 3 Fight + 6*Channel - 5 Actions = 8d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 5 power of the move + STAB = 9d6! +1 autodamage due to SE on Sudowoodo.
Additional notes: Hits a random foe, but there only is one. Gloom is confused out of fatigue after the rampage.

Yeah Pyroar does like Orthros best of all Pokemon. Director North would even comment on it.

"I've been informed that Sceptile has arrived. Like the other recovered Pokemon, Sceptile is rather withdrawn. We'll let the two of you meet up in a room with no other Pokemon present. There should be no danger of it attacking, but remember this is an abused Pokemon."

He releases Sceptile into an opaque room and motions you inside. Sceptile just sits on its haunches, staring at the floor.

I don't really have anything with the bonding session, but it's noted.

Howl welcomes you personally, offering to let you battle any of his trainers. When you announce that you're ready to roll, he smiles and guides you to the gym's main room, which is currently cloaked in shadow. The ceiling contains several Sunstones and Duskstones on a series of wheels. As the wheels rotate, the shadows of the Gym alter in unpredictable sequences. Occasionally, complete darkness blankets the room, or a brief flash of daylight.

Howl himself is a tall man in faded gray-green clothing. He's so thin you can hardly see him from one side. He wears a set of polarized goggles with lenses that keeps up with the amount of light in the room, and he's got on tall boots that come up to his knees.

"My Gym, my rules. Here, we battle with three Pokemon and we use only held items. A Pokemon battles until it can battle no more. My Pokemon undergo a special training regimen, including dust of evolutionary minerals in their food. My gym is famous for the number of Pokemon who have evolved inside it, to meet the challenge of my team. You will probably need that advantage."

He lifts up a pure-black Pokeball. "I'm ready when you are. There's a PC right there. Go ahead and send out your first challenger whenever you're ready. I like to get straight to the good stuff - that's my nature as a host, not my nature as a battler."

Gallade will respect that and wait outside the room, then.

Nathan sits down in front of Sceptile, at a respectful distance.  "...well, I'd say I haven't seen a Dragon look so down before, but you actually aren't the first one I've seen in this kind of mood.  Just out of curiosity, Sceptile, let me ask: is it because of Juni, your former 'trainer'?"

I've used Outrage a few times. Rampage works out just fine with my rules.

Sudowoodo Round 1

Petal Dance 1
(2)(1)(2)(3)(3)(1) (5)(2)(1)(4) The attack barely penetrates Sudowoodo's rooted defenses, but once the leaves are in there they start annoying Sudowoodo greatly.
(6)(5)(1) Sudowoodo takes 3 dmg 7/10hp -1 pain

Hammer Arm 11
(6)(6)(3)(6)(5)(2) (5) Critical hit. Diggersby is following orders and not holding back at all! He's in his element down here.
(3)(4)(6)(1)(4) Sudowoodo takes 4 dmg 3/10hp -2 pain

Stone roots pop out of the ground like cypress knees, knocking Gloom off his stubby feet.

Stone Edge 1
(3)(1)(6)(3)(2)(4)
(1)(5)(2)(5)(5)(6) Gloom takes 4 lethal damage 4/8hp -2 pain

But he just continues his rampage from his sitting posture, spinning on his head.

Petal Dance 2
(4)(4)(4)(5)(2)(2) (6) Resulting in a critical hit! This oughta knock Sudowoodo out!
(6)(3)(6)(4)(4) Sudowoodo is reduced to 1 hp! -3 pain. Diggersby sees an opportunity for a KO.

Hammer Arm 2
(5)(1)(4)(4)(3)
Sudowoodo faints! Its supple body doubles over where the Hammer Arm landed. The miners stuff the giant treelike Pokemon in a cart and shuffle it off.

"Sometimes we sell these Pokemon, or put them to work after some training. Other times we just release them into the wild, like we're going to do with this one. He's tough enough to take care of himself, I think."

The fight was worth 12XP total.

You move onward. A channel in the ground carries water which washes away effluvium and lets the miners pan for evolutionary glass. You can see a little sparkling in the water.

"We get all kinds of evolutionary glass here, even though Sunstones are the most common. The occasional piece of Meteoric Superconductor, too. But here's the problem: something's been blocking the stream, causing floods. It's down through this tunnel right here, but it growls and stomps and produces a horrendous stench. Will you go take care of it, please? We'll, uh, we'll wait out here."
The men all retreat to the buggy.

Sceptile thinks, then gives the tiniest nod. He doesn't seem sure how to feel. And he doesn't seem flattered by being called a Dragon, like you might expect.

(Pretty interesting that a Mega Sceptile is more obedient for Nathan)

(First off, music {slightly tattered clothing on video picture})

Despite knowing Dark-types are prominent, he decides to go with a gamble; "Go Nubi!"
Nubi the Misdreavus is sent out! (I've got OOC reasons for this, let's see if they work)
