"Uhm... What the heck is this?!" Spira can only stare in shock at the strange sight. "So, ehm, what the heck are we supposed to do here?" He turns his attention to the deformed Kadabra, "and what happened to him?!"

The thing seems to be conscious, though it's still partially embedded in Capture Web. Its eyes dart back and forth from you to the Kadabra.


To reach the tube, Shiva tosses a chunk of crystal. It just tings off, confirming that it's made of metal. You notice it's bigger at one end.

Cosh refuses to acknowledge that anything is wrong with his Gauntlet. "Just a side effect of some of the more powerful spells. It means nothing, just smoke and mirrors. Bells and whistles. All flash and no substance."

As I'm sure you guessed, Recalling Angie does nothing. The PokeBall doesn't seem to remember it ever held her.


Her form, unlike the Ruin Maniac, is discarnate within the web. It's just yellow and blue and white light you occasionally forming up enough to try to look at you.


Cosh: "I don't know either, Terra! It seems easy enough to break this stuff, but who knows what it will do to Dunseraph or the others trapped inside? They could be useful. And who knows what all these Kadabra are up to! They're still watching us... look, those two are ready to fight at the drop of a top hat."


Solomon doesn't seem too scared of any Krystal shards, but he won't make any moves to approach the Capture Web. His Hidden Power always counts as an attack, so he isn't ready to resort to that yet. He opens his mouth wide at Shiva's question and points from her to the Kadabra and back again, then doing so on another random human, confirming Shiva's guess matches his own.

None of the Kadabra are looking at Nathan with any kind of familial recognition. If there was that much of Marco left in a Kadabra, it'd be flinging itself up toward him!

None of the Kadabra are wearing any clothing. They don't use any human tools at all, at least not for their intended purpose. Some might use big shards of metal as crude containers/wagons for Telekinesis, and of course there are many spoons about. But no hats, no scraps of clothing, no wielded tools.

All the Kadabra look identical to Nathan's eye, or any human's eye. Shiva, having raised a Kadabra and having her amazing Insight, can tell them apart, but she uses non-human-related features to do so. Length of tail, color of fur, patterns of darker patches.

There are no visual clues at all, far as Nathan (or Shiva) can tell, for identifying who a Kadabra was in life.

"...dang it...there's nothing to distinguish anyone down there from normal Kadabra as far as I can tell...either they're not down there, or..."

No, best not think about that possibility.

Nathan's dad and his pokemon HAVE to be in here somewhere.

And there's gotta be a way to reverse this, too...

Nathan just keeps thinking those two things over and over.

He has to maintain hope.  Has to stay strong.  Has to persevere.

His dad's counting on him.  The whole region, too.  He can't fail now.  That's just not an option.

But despite that, Nathan's fresh out of ideas at the moment. All he can do for now is keep a careful eye out...

...and pray that everything is going to be okay in the end.

Seeing your confusion and hesitation, the Ruin Maniac-Kadabra wriggles wildly and drops quietly to the ground. Using one humanlike hand and one catlike claw, he begins playing a silent, incomprehensible game of charades with you.

When the other Kadabra look at him, he turns slightly to hide his human side in shadow.

(...) Picking up the Kadabra Kyrstals would earn the mystical lass a sharp look of disapproval from the steely brawler, followed a short but sufficient response: "Don't. Drop them. Please. Scimitars says crystals are strange, so we should leave them alone." He doesn't stop her from doing what she wants, though, but if she keeps picking up the Krystals she'll get an increasingly worried grimaces from him. (...)

When Terra rather directly asks Shiva to leave the crystal shards alone, her first reaction is a sulking expression (like this) and she was just about to counter-say something, when she pretends to indeed drop some of the pretty shards. BUT, when he isn't looking, Shiva quickly picks all of them up again to pack them away into her stuff, she doesn't want to just leave them behind. Describing something as 'strange' usually only serves to make her more interested in something, and these shards don't appear harmful! Can't just not take the unique chance to collect them, but she doesn't want to make Terra worry unnecessarily here.

Oi, and she's delighted that the smart Slowking and she think alike! Humm, but that humanoid Kadabra with hat isn't Nathan's dad then. That's relieving in some way.

But unfortunately, she still has no idea what that metallic tube is for, and why the heck it's so full of dents and pierces. But she's certain that it's not just there for decoration, and that it's important for the Chamber. Appearantly no Kadabra cared when she threw a shard onto it, that's good. She observes the side the tube lies to for a bit, do the Kadabra do anything with or near it? Is it some sort of pathway for them? Could a human still fit through the smaller end of it...?

What's actually with that other Kadabra, that one overgrown with crystals? Is there any hint what ITS purpose could be, it it maybe bigger than the others or such which may mark it as some source of power?

Ohhhh! He has freed himself. Shiva's highly hiiiighly interested in bringing that guy to them now, he appears to know more than they do. (Useful NPC detected!) She summon's Lilith to her side and lets her take a look at the scenery down the Chamber and brings her attention to the humanoid Kadabra with hat: "Dear one, do you think with a well-placed Telekinesis you could carry him up to us? Can't let him become a Pokemon if we can prevent it. Try to focus your psychic power on him WITHOUT lifting him yet, I'd like to see whether the other 'real' Kadabra react to that." She also tells the others what she does.

Depending on the outcome of this, what she's up to do is her bringing that guy to them while some others, at best with Pokemon knowing slashing or cutting moves, try to free Angie after having attempted whether the Capture Web can be destroyed at all first. Will probably raise the attention of the Kadabra, but that's the way it is: If they want to progress and find out more, that's a risk to take.

BUT towards the latter, Shiva all carefully speaks up: "Are you...familiar with that creepy fairytale about a boy sporting weird extrasensory skills once having become a Kadabra? Something rather similar seems to be going on with, eh....him. *pointing to humanoid Kadabra with nice hat*"

When it's safe to do so, the Kadabra Maniac catches your eye and nods.

The other Kadabra looks like it's just about done being transformed.

When you Telekinese the Kadabra Maniac, the other Kadabra immediately slap him back down again with psychic power of their own. He's still pretending to be a full Kadabra, so they think you just tried to steal one of them.

They send a leader soaring up to you on waves of psychic power, a team effort. It's no bigger than the others; you can't tell why it has been picked for the job.

This leader floats in front of Lilith's face and gives a series of angry grunts, twisting its claws upward in a gesture of admonishment and disbelief at your daring.

Since Lilith stops immediately, he seems mollified (gender is one thing you can tell about the Kadabra, perhaps that eliminates half of them). As the rest lower him down, he makes an inviting gesture to you all, motioning to a pile of fungus and grunting. He puts some in his mouth and grunts again, showing how tasty it is.

Shiva's screeches in startlememt as one of the Kadabra is sent up to them all, mentally she already prepared to defend herself! Tactfully and without her direct order though, Lilith immediately stopped herself already, which earned her very thankful and praising look from her Master. At this Leader Kadabra's scolding Shiva instictively and intuitively bows down deeply. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'M SORRY! I didn't really mean to....kidnap any of your companions. I was just testing something, please excuse my immense curiosity. Won't do such an action again, lesson learnt!" >o<

Huuuh? o.o Much to her (pleasant) suprise, all these Kadabra don't appear hostile at all given the Leader's even inviting them. Shiva's not sure whether it's that much of a good idea to follow this invitation, but...whatelse to do? Shiva wouldn't mind to do so, but before that she gives a questioning glance to the others as if silently asking for their opinion, watches what the humanoid Kadabra with hat 'recommends' = how he reacts to that invitation from Leader Kadabra and all carefully puts ONLY one of her hands through the hole Angie dug to see what happens. At the slightest bad sensation she'll immediately pull back, if something tries to drag her down she'll call for the others and Azu (Huge Power) to prevent that at all cost.
