You do not feel any Steel typing; in fact, you're pretty confident about that.
Considering that Terra only has a 3D6 Roll there, I'm going to take this with a pinch of salt. Steel (Heh), it's better than nothing, so I'm fine with going forward with this general plan for the Operation:
- Heart, Spira, and Shiva (+ the Scims) confront DMG, and Shiva/SOMEBODY gets the Confuse Debuff + Damage + Other Mental/Emotional Debuffs on them within the first Round, while Nathan/Terra hang back and ready themselves to summon their respective faux DMG (If Ditto does work, then why not copy Oinairi, which could mean the can instantly get Illusion if possible).
- Since it's likely Bug/Psychic (Given this above 'confirm' + the fact that Terra was able to get a connection reading from them in the first place, which Steel would probably muffle), ROCK SMASH would do jack diddly (At least one person has to 'test' it, though, on either the drones or its arms), the initial strike team should focus on FIRE, FLYING, ROCK, DARK, and GHOST type Moves when acting against it, switching to new Moves as appropriate if it turns out they're another Type Combo (Like Bug/Rock) or actually Bug/Steel. Focus on attacking the limbs and drones, if at all possible, since they've been pointed out as probably weak points.
- Once it's confused or significantly weakened, Oinari and Ditto get sent out, and Terra and/or Nathan attempt to Bluff/Intimidate DMG into submission or fleeing. I plan to do so now via Oinari's Foul Play and using it like a Contest Move with Intimidation Support, putting Will into it and dedicating as much Accuracy Dice to performance as possible in order to make it as flashy and INTIMIDATING as possible, along with a Will Points into the Intimidation Roll along with the Contest Roll to ensure it has the maximum odds for success. If the plan works, great!!! We move on, and claim the Treasure!
- ....If it doesn't, though, or shenanigans occur because of it, we have to fall back on a straight slug fest, which is likely going to be very costly. Heck, Terra, Nathan, and Co might become aggro targets in those events, so we'll probably have to work double time in keeping it distracted in order to give some advantage to the rest of the fighters (Like time and reprieve, mainly).
- Alternatively, we break out Perish Song, and see how that works out. This can't really be a last resort, as we need sufficient bodies around to stall for time and keep some form of pressure on DMG, or otherwise it'll just Faint/Kill EVERYONE during the countdown, which makes it either Pyrrhic Victory or outright Downer End.
- All else fails, Retreat! Terra will sacrifice himself to give everyone else time to escape and/or go grab the Treasure while he pulls a Last Stand, and we proceed from there. Worst case scenario, but hey, sometimes you have to throw yourself on the sword to succeed....
How does this sound, everyone? Good? Bad? Awful? Let me know!

I think it's more likely that it's Bug/Rock, given how much emphasis Iron put on how much stone is worked into its weapons and appearance, and how old this Genesect probably is given that it was Deoxys who experimented with modifying it.
That, and Nathan already knows for a fact that this Genesect isn't Dark or Psychic type.

Then Water Attacks and ROCK SMASH/Maybe Sacred Sword would work on it after all, thought that doesn't bode all too well for FIRE. Still, it might instinctively fear that Type, even if it Moves of it can't get past its Plot Armor, which could be something. Foul Play is also liable to still work, since it uses the foe's Strength against it, and Legendary Strength would cancel out the Plot Armor logically speaking if used on it.
I wonder if Destiny Bond could also work on it, but I doubt it. Perish Song has dubious odds as it is, and I doubt an actual 'OHKO' Move would work as intended. Super Fang from Pixie is liable not to work either, or at least be vastly less effective in the most ideal scenario.
Got any ideas of your own that we can use against DMG? Or any other questions to ask Iron about the primal beast? If so, by all means share them, please!

Bug/Rock is primarily vulnerable to Rock, Water, and Steel.
If we destroy the drones and/or disarm Genesect (primarily by removing those stone blades), that may increase the chances of it fleeing, as well as make it much less of a threat for awhile even after it flees.
There is actually one quirk about Imposter/Transform that I'd like to point out concerning their interaction with Illusion: if Illusion is active, Imposter/Transform outright fails in the games. The same thing happens if a Transform user tries to Transform into a Transformed pokemon or a pokemon hiding behind a Substitute as well (as of Gen 5 and later)

Speaking of those stone blades...how many of them does Genesect have on each arm, @ Iron?

One circular blade that looks augment-y. Then claws, but they aren't blade-shaped.

In that case about the type, what should I do? If it is Bug/Rock, Rose will be vulnerable because of Genesect Rock STABS/SE. Doublade still gonna be my choice, since we can at least minimize the damage release upon us, not to mentioned if is Bug/Rock, Sacred Sword/Rock Smash will help mitigate damage and Ignore Defenses and Reduce it's Defense. Shame he still not have Steel moves yet.
Gustav still a option since he has Water Pulse (who can also Confuse the foe), Dragon Pulse, Aura Sphere, and he can also learn a Rock type move I suppose.
Quetzel can also be summoned and use his Fang moves/Steel to cause certain effect against those fools, and his Rock Slide can cause SE against Bugs, and it hits all foes so there is a slight chance of survive. Not to mentioned depending of the Initiative, he can setup Tailwind to raise everyone Dex and help set up the Illusion Plan/Perish Song strategy.
It's a great plan, but both me and Heart doesn't want to sacrifice Terra or anyone else.
What should I do people?

Rose can be held back as a later resort, so long as whomever replaces her can do Damage to DMG and/or mess with it enough where Nathan/Terra can more easily work their ploy.
Between Gustav and Quetzal, I say the later is the better choice, as they can target the Drones and/or multiple DMG limbs with Rock Slide and set up Tailwind to just buff the group's Pokemon (Or at least 5-6 of them, which should be enough!). Gustav can be first back up, and then either Rose or Posei (If we go with Alt Plan Perish Song).
Mate, Terra is SERIOUS about keeping the group safe at all costs, so if it comes down to it, he WILL put his life on the line to buy some time for everyone to act with. Better to let me sack him and give the rest of the group a chance to recover and/or complete their objective, than to not and not.
As a reminder, if you have any alternative ideas beyond Operation Buff Da Big Bad Bug , Honorable Slug Fest, or Perish Song Stall, then I honestly want to hear them, as we REALLY don't have that many good options to dealing with DMG that are not either insanely risky, unproven, and liable to end with someone or some Pokemon getting murdalated. The more things we can come up with, the more options we have to DEAL with that primal beast!

So the choice of combination would be Doublade and Quetzal to act as a support, multi-hit and Tailwind set up, and the second would Rose/Gustav/Posei for extra power and the Perish Song last resort. I think go with the first combination since we need strong defences to survive such strong foes right now and to also hit as much targets we can.
I kinda have one last idea. Heart and Nathan is the most stealth members of the team. While everyone distract Genesect and his drones, one of us can try to sneak behind them and grab the relic and we can get out of there. Along in the path we can target the ceilings of Genesect chamber, making fall in Genesect and his hive with our most powerfull Range moves. I dont know if this will kill them, but since it is techinally a Rock-type attack, it will at least cause tons of damage against them. Or we can use Rock Smash to weak the ceiling also and make fall. More or less like we done against Seikamater.
Heart could use the Baashaaun boots of Shiva to increase his stealth roll and increase our chances.
There is another thing we could do. Or rather, Heart could. This room is filled with Earthpower according to what I understand from Iron. Since Heart now has the greatest connection to Earthpower from all members of the group, I could, i dont know, try to connect with Genesect and at least try to calm him? More or less like a conection via link like Terra and Deoxys did back there, only this time did in purpose. I could even use Moltres Egg as a channel between them since Moltres by defaut is one of the Three Legendary Bird. If not calm him, it will at least give everyone time to get the relic. Another thing to back that is Heart be bless by one of Jirachi wish tags, so he has a chance. Not to mentioned we could also use Shiva dagger to add another connection link. And if Genesect rage is a some type of Curse, Heart Earthpower can break. Cosh, Gendry, could also help with that since they have those Gauntlets capable of casting spells, so in a way, those Gauntlets can connect to Earthpower. And Heart have connection with that.
Its a long shot, but if there is a possibility we can at least try.
It is possible @ Iron?

Humm... My main problem with that idea is that it kinda feels like blatant betrayal towards Cofagrigus and their kin, and on top of that we'd destroy their home as currently we're residing within the Fossil Garden with the spectral coffin & co. just having hid themselves or fled to watch from a safe distance. I really don't want to do that, a deal is a deal. And in case the Artifact is locked away and only being accessible with a golden key Cofagrigus holds, we're very efficiently screwed ourselves. -_-;

That's not a bad thought, but trying to calm down that Modified Genesect neatly goes against the strategy behind the Imposter-Illusionary-Idea: That way that Genesect will be at best intimidated and completely thrown off-track after being confused, weakened and attacked, and Heart trying to calm them down sounds not the best action to take here. Though, you can possibly try to strike fear into them instead via that possible connection.
I feel everyone kinda wants to get that Artifact and get the hell away from here, but I'm actually very interested and curious to see Cofagrigus' reaction to everything, potentionally even ask for/try to grab another souvenir from their Fossil Garden.
Speaking about the Baashaun Boots, @ Mikaruge108, can I assume that Spira gave them back to Shiva by now? There's no need to outplay that unless you'd want to make that a small scene.
