[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Looks like this failed to post? Luckily it was short and sweet so I will just roll it out again from what I remember.

Giant Magcargo Round 2

Mach Punch 1
(3)(5)(5)(3)(2)(6) (1)(5)(5) Critical
(2)(5)(2)(5)(4) Magcargo faints shortly before exploding! Instead a big hiss of steam escapes the cracked shell.
CD: (1)(4)(2) Mikey deftly escapes the burn.

Mikey, Arete, and Sari gain 8XP each. That's 12 for Terra.

Magcargo drops a Fire Stone, a King's Rock, and a Soft Sand.

Solosis swells with pride! Or, is she just swelling? She's definitely growing! And glowing with light. You can see the balls of light multiplying and preparing to divide, which is enough to reach the next stage of evolution.

Congratulations! Your Solosis evolved into Duosion.

(No prob! Also, Sari was )

Upon finishing off Giga Magcargo, the mushroom of champions sprung away from them to narrowly avoid getting scalded by its gaseous emissions, striking a heroic pose as he touched down in front of Terra, one fist claw held high as he shouted his triumph! Yeah, take that you big, dumb, red hot snail! Nobody messes this mean green fighting machine's friends and gets away with it, ORAH!!

For his part, Terra was just relieved that the living lava slug was taken of before it could seriously start putting the hurt on, whipping his brow and *Sighing* before walking up to Mikey and patting them on the shoulder and giving them a firm nod.

"Solid punch. Thank you, Mikey. Now, Paralyze and Poison Magcargo, so I have better chances to catch it."

Once that's done (Note: If 'giving' Magcargo the Toxic Orb would destroy it, let Mikey have the good sense not to hand it off to the slug), the big beast get's a Great Ball first, and if it breaks he'll just bring out Arete and say 'Enjoy.' If he couldn't capture it, then he might as well use them to please his baby Legend, if only to because he wants to make damn sure they're good and bonded to them for the rest of his life (However long it will be). He does not like killing Pokemon, but if their deaths would go to a good/justified cause.....

Sari will also get a couple of Heal Pulses from Solomon to patch her up, and Arete will just get housed down with Water Guns from the Wise King, as its Water Absorb Ability will let them drink it all up to fully restore their HP that way! It's so nice to have non-conventional Healing!

He also offers the King's Rock for Sari to wear Non-Functionally as a gift/token of appreciation(Luck Egg is still her Main Held Item, so + 2 XP for her!), as this resplendent ruler would probably appreciate a status symbol like that; doubly so in KR's case, since one was responsible for her Evolution.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Your team is pretty weird and RPG-like already if you think about it. A street magician Azumarill, a tinfoil hat Gothitelle, a caveman-Eevee/Glaceon/Espeon, a Mightyena with wings. Even Whimsicott has the custom Ethereal Ribbon. Togekiss is the only fairly normal one.

Giant Machoke Round 1

Fake Tears 1
(2)(5)(4)(3)(3)
-2 Vit for Machoke

As Lilith pretends to cry, you all notice that Machoke has black tear stains of its own. Though its eyes are violet, a genetic ability to see in the dark, they also seem very sad.

Seismic Toss 1
Machoke reaches out and grabs Espeon by the tail(s) and whirls him around and around, then releases him straight into a wall. Meanwhile Shiva has swung the Shield and set its point in the ground with a loud cry, creating a field of impenetrable fiery force around Espeon. (Shield will protect Espeon from damage for the rest of the round).

Then something strange happens. A ghostly afterimage follows Machoke, a gigantic soldier of the kind who would have fought for Sarimanok in his last days. It hits Espeon as well but again deals no damage.

Even an invincible cat doesn't like being bashed against a wall.
Howl 1
(3)(1)(5)(5)(1)(6) (6)
+1 Str

Psyshock 2
(2)(3)(5)(4)(3)(6) (2)
(3)(3)(2)(4)(1) Machoke takes 2 dmg as Espeon gets his revenge, slamming MACHOKE against the wall in turn. 16/18hp -1 pain

Machoke edges away from the crazed psychic cat and tentatively tries dropping Gothitelle on her tinfoil-coated head.
Seismic Toss 2
(6)(3)(1)(3)(6)(4) (6)(5)
(4)(5)(3)(4)(3)(6) (4)(3) Gothitelle takes 5 dmg 4/9hp -1 pain
Afterimage 2
(2) +1 SE Gothitelle takes 1 dmg 3/9hp -2 pain. Orchid = 7/9hp.

Future Sight 2
(5)(6)(1)(4)(5)(2) (3)(4)(2) It'll be a crit.

Bullet Punch 3
(5)(4)(6)(1)(6)(2) (5) Critical
7 Str + 2 = 5d6
(2)(5)(4)(3)(4) Gothitelle takes 3 dmg 4/9hp

Ice Shard 3
(4)(3)(3)(1) (1)(6)(2)(6)
(4)(2)(5)(4) Machoke takes 3 dmg 13/18hp -2 pain

Psyshock 3
(1)(5)(1)(6)(2)(4)
(1)(4)(4)(3)(4) Machoke takes 4 dmg 9/18hp -1 pain

Machoke looks surprised to see ice coming from the psychic cat.
Insight: (1)(3)

Psyshock 4
(2)(6)(5)(4)
(4)(4)(5)(6)(6) Machoke takes 6 dmg 3/18hp -2 pain

Forgetting the Shield, Machoke tries a Fire Punch on Espeon.

Fire Punch 4
No damage
CD: (3)

Future Sight 5
(4)(1)(1) The move fails, perhaps due to psychic interference from Espeon's own prediction of the future.

Seismic Toss 5
(3)(6)(3)(3)
(4)(4)(4)(3)(5)(1) (5)(2) Gothitelle faints as Machoke confidently jumps up and drives his intense bodyweight down on her prone body. KNOCKOUT!!!

It's a male Sneasel.

"Well that's not exactly reassuring, you know? I could rip your heart out of your chest with these huge claws, don't you think? Why would you... why would you want to mess with me? But, you know, I won't do anything unless you start it. Too much fighting down here already, but you do what you want. And a Sneasel's gotta eat. You from the surface? I'd like to see the surface one day. Is there as much fighting up there, away from the Ruins?"

"Silver is everywhere in these caverns. If you get deep enough you start seeing gold, mostly melted or stolen from the palace. I worked out a deal with some fiery Pokemon to smelt down the silver into nuggets. I'm gonna try to find someone who can make them into coins. I love coins. Not that anyone takes them down here, besides me, you know, no concept of trading. Just fighting. And eating. Always eating someone else. Even me, a Sneasel's gotta eat you know."

He eyes you hungrily.

"If you want this silver, you could trade me for it. Or if you have... do you have any coins? We could trade with coins. I have some... besides the silver I have some other, I mean, I have two other things, I guess. Or I could do something for you for coins, get you some food. Show you the way or something. Depends on where you want to go, of course."

Spira is still wary as to whether or not to trust this Sneasel, especially with the way the Sneasel is eying him, and Spira secretly readies Toya's Pokeball, in case things go sour, "I don't want your coins." he rubs his beard, "I do have a proposition for you; me and my friends found a boat-load of gold, I could point you there so you can get anything that was left, and if you know the way, you can point us in the direction of the third relic we're here for. Deal?"
Provided things go smoothly, whatever loot may (or may not XD) be left at the ruined ship and the location of it is being offered in return for any information that the Sneasel may have on the location of the third of Sari's relics.
If things go south fast, however, Spira will have Toya beat the Sneasel into submission, then forcibly have him point out the right direction.

(Ah, I see we had the same idea for how Big Roots work in Pokerole.)

...phew...that was close...they got out of it without anyone fainting, though, so that's good.

...but why did the Foongus just....fall apart like that?  It'd normally take more than a Psycho Cut to do that to a pokemon...

...well, the answers are probably somewhere ahead...for now, they just need to worry about what's happening right now.

And right now, Calam needs to heal.  So let's see how much (up to) 2 uses of his Moonlight recovers.  Is this area magical enough for it to become a Complete Heal?

"Hey, that's not a bad trade. I don't mind scouring the Ruins if it means a chance at gold coins. Is it closer to the surface?"

"What relic are you looking for?"

"If you've already found a boat-load of gold, you could trade for some of the things I've found. There's a fruit called the, well, it's a kind of Apricorn, a black one. It grows only in absolute darkness. I found one. I also found one already fitted with a, whatchacallit, shiny metal web thing, and a button. I've heard they are good at catching heavy Pokemon, so it's a must-have item around here. Want to buy it? Wherever you go down here, you're going to encounter big Pokemon, and I've heard there are some on the surface too. It's a, like I said, it's a must-have item."

Yes.

That was pretty terrible though.

5/8 is at least better than 1/8. But we can definitely still do better.

1 Heal Pulse from Gallade to hopefully top Calam's HP off, then.
