Spurred on by the competitive power of the Eye, you sprint for the fortress. Nathan recognizes this from some subtle clues of architecture. This is the place where Sarimanok was holed up right before he faced the new League.


It's made of the same indestructible material as the minarets, and covered with spikes and barred windows. If he'd stayed here, he could have held out for weeks.

Cosh strides confidently through the wyrms coiled around the ancient fortress and with a severe popping noise from his gauntlet, Strengths the door open.


With the power of his Legendaries, Sarimanok was able to make this place "bigger on the inside." It's the size of a big house, but the central part is filled with a huge glowing orb marked with sigils.

Looks a little something like this.


It's about ten feet in diameter and gives you a weird feeling whenever you look at it. Spira and Heart are both drawn toward it.

There's another trapdoor in here, with the same symbols on it as the one Spira found. The room is decorated like a taste of the Throne Room, appointed with every luxury and probably a ton of gold worked into the decorations. It's entirely undisturbed by any humans or bigger Pokemon, and none of the fine furnishings have decayed. The stone floor is soft to walk on, somehow. The room stays well-lit despite the lack of proper windows or indeed a sun. Every chair is soft, supportive, and beautifully upholstered. There are even casks of wine and golden goblets.

The rest of the space is packed with items, but also a lot of Pokemon bones. Actually, looking at that... Terra sees the partial exoskeleton of a Genesect, including a purple orb behind its eye sockets, and two strong limbs connected to a rigid steel backbone.

Heart spots a strange cone at the base of the orb. It looks partially ethereal, bits and pieces of it shifting in and out of existence. By contrast, it seems to be made of a metal, which you might ID as mithril.

There are twenty fitted colorless Apricorns (akin to red Pokeballs) scattered around the room. Some look used, but all are empty now.
There's a robe made of articulated steel, looks like it could function as a Metal Coat.

There's a bookshelf of mahogany and gold, filled with old school TMs. And a chest, filled to the brim with smooth Mega Stones (but no keystones sadly). Two each of Delta Steelixite, Alakazamite, Aggronite, Metagrossite, Lucarionite, Mawilite, and many more for experimental Sarimanok Pokemon that don't exist any more.

Cosh runs forward and pries up a loose floor tile, his back to you. Kelda follows and bends down beside him. When she straightens up, she's wearing the Helm and her form is wreathed in two colors of fire. Every time she swivels her head, she seems to be moving almost faster than the eye can see, like Sid.

"We're done here," say the two armed Scimitars in unison, made cohesive by the bond of the Hauberk. "Finish up and let's go. We have a world to save."

Spira walks up to the strange orb, and places his right hand on one of the sigils, to see if he can get a read on the energy.

On the other stuff in the room:
Spira goes up to the richly-made bookcase and looks at the old-school TMs, mainly how many that are still usable, and if he can tell what type of move is held in them. He'd also put one or two of the wine casks in his bag for future use. Yay, more gold; all the goblets will be collected for selling once the group gets back out of the ruins.

Everyone can pick two TMs for their character. No exceptions will be made, so it has to be either a universal TM or a TM on your Pokemon's movelist. However, it can be a TM from any generation (as long as it's not an HM).

When Spira touches the orb, nothing happens. You can sense some ghostly energy though.

The first thing Shiva would do in that fortress of King Sarimanok is taking a seat in one of the soft, supportive, and beautifully upholstered chairs there for some leisure because they look super-comfy, and all that running was exhausting. With Primal Espeon curled up in her lap and one of these golden goblets in her hand, she halfway feel like a queen, when she's actually just enjoying the luxury of this unique and old place. Oh, and she packs one of the goblets away because it's pretty, classy and for certain worthy, and Sarimanok himself isn't there to hold her back. She avoids looking at any neaby Eye though while she does so.

One of the TMs Shiva's pulling from the mahogany and golden bookshelf for certain is a TM of Psychic that a particular blue and white psychic cat will enjoy. about the other she's still undisclosed and just pages through the disks until I made a final decision.
She's looking through the shelf mindfully, looking out for TMs that are unique as in 'not available anymore in nowadays'. If Sarimanok had unique experiemental Pokemon, he might as well have experimental TMs, wouldn't he? Any TM Shiva is unable to identify is discreetly scanned with her Almanac. (Outta-chara, is there a TM labeled 'Caustic Breath'? It's something Shiva would enjoy to bring along for Chi aka her smol and adorable dragonfairy. [Luxi])

She mentally curses as she goes through the other shelf filled with Megastones, one for her precious Alakazam she already has. There's only one Megastone she wishes to have, and it's not here but near Garlicburg. No keystone's in that shelf, but since there are Megastones, a keystone SHOULD - MUST? - be nearby, Shiva's not giving up that easily. So, @Iron, can she spend an Encounter here at this fortress to search for a keystone in particular? With her high insight, Azu's Helping Hand and Yena's keen sense of smell it's worth a try for sure. She feels they could just as well buried, so she's paying the floor some extra-attention.

Depending how this works out, Shiva may want the others to help in opening this trapdoor to the Throne Room together.

Spira thumbs through the TMs and stops at ones containing Shock Wave and Icy Wind. They'll both be used on Luna, mainly to make up for her moves that were sacrificed.
