[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
(10-10-2019, 03:28 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: WHAT, five exemplars?! ヽ(°〇°)ノ That feels like a jackpot. "NownowNOW, Donna, you're sure about that? Those Safety Googles are somewhat hard to get, even if or maybe because they're niche and hardly used. What you're offering doesn't just sound 'fair', it's sounding more like 'rather generous' - though, on the other hand, that Sandslash's obediant and has some nice moves in its repertoire, sooooo...... *dramatic break* If it makes you happy, I'd be more than willing to let you have that Pokemon of ice and steel for all five Items, it'll allow me to protect several Pokemon of mine, have some stock if one exemplars break, or gift an exemplar to my travel companions if desired. .......Do we have a deal on that?~~"

Kee's not quite sure whether Donna's honestly that generous or interested in that Sandslash, or just wants to get rid of her Safety Googles; but quite honestly he doesn't care too much because he's getting more than what he wished for. Hehehehe, lucky.

Kee and his fairylike Eeveelution adamantly try to avoid that big Salazzle's stare, which is notably getting harder the longer they are in that 'Mon's presence. "Huuuummmm..... Because she wants to make damn sure that either her offsprings or members of her reverse harem end up in good hands?~ This is a trade house after all. Or rather, that's what it's saying at the entrance~~"

Donna shrugs.  "I can always get more Battle Points and items from the Battle Frontier.  A rare pokemon that most trainers in this region aren't going to be prepared for, though?  THAT'S valuable stuff right there.  So I'd say we have a deal!"  She offers a hand to shake on it, then hands over all 5 Safety Goggles afterwards.

"Ding!  That's right!  I hatched a big batch of Salandit the other day.  You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get a perfect Female Salandit that's also shiny...I have a few spares burning a hole in my PC now as a result.  Or are they melting a hole in my PC instead?  Hmmmm...might have to consider which expression to use in the future...anyways...ya interested in a Salandit?  I've got lots!~ Whatcha got to trade for one of 'em?"

- He'd discretely pull the champ of to the side later and quietly/privatey inform him about Karen's fear of dog/canine Pokemon, and bluntly asks if a certain Pokemon of his would cause any problems for her like they did with him because of that. Or even if they still were carrying their grudge against him, for that matter.

Ah ha!  Found something I missed responding to after all.

Lucas listens carefully to what Randolph says about Karen's phobia.  "Oh, so that's what was going on?  Well, I imagine that if Karen has problems with Sally, it's going to be nothing like her issues with you.  Speaking of which, I talked to her like I said I would.  Don't think it's all right as rain yet, but I think you did at least humble her a little.  It's progress, I guess. Thanks for the warning by the way. I'll let Sally know before we head out."

Lucky indeed for him, understandable for Donna. One of these Safety Googles goes to Stella right away so that the smol fox is protected from the harsh weather that's certainly ahead. The other four exemplars are securely packed away, Kee can always ask later whether any of his traveling companiosn would like to have one.

Huh, it seems to be some sort of trend among Pokemon Breeders right now to try hatching a shiny exemplar. Eh, either way, that'snothing Kee's going to loose many thoughts about. "Oh well, yes, sure I am interested in this species of nice toxic lizards, thier Typing and Ability is what's fueling my desire to raise one myself!~~" He pauses here for short, but does not drop his charming attitude. "The only problem's....that I'm pretty much lacking anything worthy to trade for, Pokemon- and Item-wise. I WOULD offer you that I'll contact you once I've caught something nice since my travel's gonna lead me South towards the mountains... That, OR it depends how much cash you'd take for a male exemplar."

Kee's still got those 5.000$Poke he got from Randolph, and he's willing to part with those here. I've started to feel that a male Salandit fits him better, and he's the kind of person who'd give it a chance regardless knowing that it'll never evolve. Benefit it that it'll always be small enough that it can sit on his shoulder or hide in bag, and hopefully appreciate the care when 99% of Trainers would prefer a female Salandit.

Missy looks very confused.  "A Male Salandit?  Honestly, I've been giving them away practically for free, 'cuz I've got more of them than I know what to do with, but...you sure you want one of them?  You know they don't usually evolve, right?  And that Male Salandit aren't nearly as strong individually as Salazzle for obvious reasons?"

Salazzle stops glaring at Kee once he says he's more interested in the males than the females.  Now she's looking at him with more interest.

Kee can only laugh about Missy's confusion. Octavia carefully smiles to mirrow the joy, she relaxes a little as that big mean-looking lizard there stops glaring at her and her beloved Master, but she still doesn't dare to come out of her hide (which is behind Kee). "Yes, I know all that rather well. I've spent some years working for a Gym Leader specializing in poisonous Pokemon, so it'd be a shame if I wouldn't....~~"

He pauses here, comfortably crosses his arms, and overall looks pensive and musing. Even dares to make short eye-contact with Salazzle, can't help but to gift her a smile over the realization that he caught her interest. "Certainly the male exemplars of Salandit are somewhat at disadvatage, but that's mostly because they are lured and...intoxicated by the pheromones the rarer female exemplars emit additionally to that sweet but poisonous gas that the males are emitting just as well. This is what literally breaks their will and makes them a... bad tongues would call it a 'slave' to the females, who enjoy their dominance. There's none yet who has actually tried raising a male exemplar without exposing it to the female's pheromones... At least, not that I know of, which would make me the first person to do that. Maybe.... Maybe the male lizard will appreciate the care it's given as well. ...Right?~"

(Let me phrase things differently: How much is a female Salandit then? Kee's got those 5.000$Poke he's willing to part with. This will result in no bought Dusk Stone for Draven, but that's okay since his evolution isn't going to happen soon. Alternatively, does Missy have any male exemplars that sport any Suprises (statwise, moves, anything)? He'd pay for those accordingly if desired. Because if I'm going to get an unplanned male Salandit for Kee, I want the best I can get for him obviously.)

@Dragonstrike
I think we could do a quick Pokemon Battle. To little Ed learn a bit about fighting. And to get some Exp. 6x6 battle. Ed ability will be Quick Feet. And for Pokemon choice, Aspido and Susanoo will be my first choices of Pokemon. With value of 300 Pokedollars just to start.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

There isn't really time for a pokemon battle before starting the trip to Mt. Coronet.

"Most pokemon appreciate having a companion that cares for them.  At least, that's been my general experience in raising them.  Can't say I've heard of anyone intentionally raising a Male Salandit knowing full well it probably won't evolve, though.  Kinda hard to find trainers who would want to."

Missy's prices for the pokemon she's trading:
- A female Salandit with no surprises would cost $2000.
- A male with no surprises is free.
- A male with at least one surprise will cost an amount relative to the kind of surprise you want (Missy has lots of males, so you can basically choose which surprise they get).  Price range will generally be $1000-3000 for a single surprise, but it could vary if the surprise is particularly strong.
- All of the Salandit she's trading come with the egg moves Fake Out and Knock Off.

(Ohhh, free egg moves <3 Let's see, prefered Suprise on a male Salandit would be that it's a bigger exemplar = +1 HP, aka has a Base HP of 4 just like a Salazzle, so I'm not missing out apart from the 0XP moves on Salazzle [which I don't especially need]. Alternative choice would be +1 Channel. That's not a Suprise, but at best Kee's exemplar prefers to have Corrosion Ability than Oblivious.)

A male with a +1 HP Surprise is $1500.

A Male with a +1 Channel Surprise is $1000.

A male with both +1 Channel and +1 HP would be $3000.

All of the Salandit have Corrosion since Oblivious is their HA.  One with access to Oblivious would cost extra.
