(02-09-2020, 10:27 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Staring at the Fire Plate that was presumably in one of his hands after he first offered it back to the man, Ran felt an odd mixture of befuddled expectation and tired, weary irritation as yet another mystery that may or may not be connected to Mt. Coronet and its cosmic disaster of a mystery found its way to him, and after a moment he could only reach up to grip his face with his free hand and heave a long, heavy *Sigh* .
"Verdammt noch mal und durcheinander, kein anderes Mysterium, mit dem ich mich befassen muss. Warum passiert das immer wieder? Wann hat dieser Wahnsinn ein Ende?"
Translation: Goddamn it and confoundit, not ANOTHER slagging mystery I have to deal with. Why, WHY does this keep happening? When will this lunacy have a end?
He let Scizors handle the rest of the man's questions (Well, so much as the Pokemon could without the rest of the mini-group pitching in to help), but when Johnathan entreated everyone for inquiries, Ran had a couple, along with a request. They were as follow:
- "While you were exploring Mt. Coronet, have ya seen or witnessed anything particularly unusual, or even impossible ? Odd Pokemon, unlikely events, topography or landmarks that are out of place, Items or stuff that just makes no sense, strange murals or signs, stuff like that. Anything at all?"
- "May I have your number, so I can get in touch with ya after all this is done? The League and certain other people would want to hear ya story , and I want to make sure you got out of this okay. I'd also be interested in working with ya on your passion with Fire types, as I got an interest myself with a few of them, and I wouldn't mind helping you with your goals if we could come to an agreement. *Waves hand* But that can come later, if ever. Worry about getting back to civilization safe and sound and reuniting with your own group, alright?"
- "Johnathan, can ya do something for me? I need ya to keep and pass along some information to Rowan - yes, Professor Rowan. We're technically on a 'job' from him (Ran makes an ugly face as he says that) that lead us to investigate Mt. Coronet, and as you can tell from your own experiences we've had an eventful time trying to get it done. If you let me, I'll write down a summarized report of my findings and intel I gathered in that journal of yours, along with a short message to my boss, and I'll tear them out and bound them together so you can get them to him. Before you do that, though, feel free to read it yourself, if ya want - in fact, I encourage ya to do so, and spread all the information to as many of your friends and associates as you can before you deliver it. Leek it to the media, if need be! People need to know the sodding nightmarish mess that's been kept from under their noses and be prepared to deal with its fallout, in case me and my partners can't deal with the root of it. The League nor Rowan hasn't done anyone any favors by keeping it secret. Heck, if they we're doing their own job right to begin with, me and my group wouldn't even be here dealing with it. So, can ya do that for me, Johnathan? Please?"
If they agreed, Ran would do as he described, quickly writing down everything about his job (and the details thereof) and what he's Encountered and discovered during the course of it and his investigation, his own theories about it (Mainly about the cross realities blending in and out, and threats of it growing worse as the distortions intensifies), all the info and theories they've scourged up about The Big Mystery (Mural Findings and Inter-dimensional Shenanigans included), Shadow Pokemon and Mystery Dungeons, and perhaps most importantly (or most prominently) the dangers and threat posed by The Big Mystery of Mt. Coronet and The Entity behind it. He'd be concise and comprehensive as he could be, writing at a speed that leave a Ninjack envious, a skill he picked up from his college note taking days and general business work. Additionally, he'd also shoot Karen a firm look that all but told her to not say or object anything about this, and let him handle it.
Was that a wise idea, or necessary the right one? Perhaps not, but Randolph had long since grown fed up with the job Rowan mislead and more or less force him to take (Not to mention the man himself!), and he didn't at all agree with his or the League's decision to keep this whole business quiet anymore. Such secrecy serves no-one but keeping (in his opinion) much need and incentivizing pressure off the Sinnoh League - whose job was to serve and protect the people of the region - and if sparking a panic or uproar against them was what it took to light a fire under them to get shit done or hold them more accountable for how they handled this mess if his group actually survives long enough to sort it out, then let him start the bonfire.
...And that would be all, and Ran would then let Scizors wisk Johnathan away to safety off the mountain! May everything work out for the best!
When Randolph holds the Flame Plate (and now that the dapper man has pointed it out), he actually feels a little of what Jonathan supposedly felt, too. It's not very strong, but there's an ever so slight...desire to take the Flame Plate to the top of the mountain that can only be felt when holding the item. On top of that, the Randolph gets the odd feeling that the same sensation is being emitted by the Azure Flute as well...
Questions for Jonathan:
- See anything strange while you've been here? "Not really, honestly. I was too busy trying to avoid anything that might have posed a danger to my well being, so I don't really have the clearest memories of what exactly was happening. Which is, well, most everything right now. Not much time to pay attention to details when you're running for your life, I'm afraid."
- Number exchange? "Why, certainly! I'm always happy to chat with a fellow Fire type enthusiast! So, how large is your collection?"
- Deliver a letter to Rowan? Jonathan looks a bit more uncertain about that one. "...this sounds rather...personal, honestly. And I'm not sure I really want to get involved with this mess any more than I already am. This mountain has given me enough trouble as is...still, I wish you the best of luck in whatever it is that you are doing."
If that's all, then Scizor will hold up the badge, and motion for Jonathan to touch it again. "Well, I do believe that this is farewell for now, assuming this works as implied. May your adventures fare better than mine!"

They didn't even had to take a single blow from that Absol - Lucky, VERY lucky. Guess this particular dark prophet was more eager to flee and get away from their pursuer than to actually fight? Either way, it's a pleasant sight seeing that eerie aura leaving this Absol, another successfully performed exorcism!~ This 'very very thankful look' they gave Kee confuse him for a moment, but he's quick to return it with one that silently says 'You're welcome' and a gentle smile before Absol looses consciousness. What they went through must had been awfully painful... Seems like Lucas was right about purified Shadowmon appreciating the act of purifying.
Well then, both Octavia and Orpheus are quick-checked for wounds (which they don't have) and then receive their pets and hugs for a job very well done (Octavia moreso to diffuse her wariness a bit) before Kee knees down to the fainted and now-purified dark prophet, eying them for a bit and then ..... carefully yet gently stroking them over the head, avoiding to touch the black horn. He then calls his dear Drampa closer to him, picks the unconscious Absol up and places them safely and comfortably onto his (Orpheus') back. "Listen Orpheus, please do me the favour 'n carry this Absol for tha time bein'. They're not too heavy for ya, are they? Just wish to...take 'em to that CAVE we spotted AND they nonverbally pointed us to. Seems like that cave could the the root of maybe not all evil but SOME evil." He then pats Octavia's head in another attempt to calm her nerves down.
Kee's not yet catching this Absol - but he's definitely interested in doing so as he keeps a Heal Ball ready. That arises a question, can a Heal Ball unfaint a fainted Pokemon? I'd guess it could at least do so with 1HP, can it?
All together - he, his blue faeeveelution and gentle old dragon with an Absol safely on his back - then make their way to that cave entrance they spotted northeast from here. If there are obstacles along the way (cliffs or similar) they'll FLY over them. Once they're there, Kee looks into the entrance from a short distance, not YET entering because hell knows what may be in there.
Orpheus will carry the Absol, but he needs to set it down when Kee and co. head to the cave they saw earlier, as it takes multiple trips to carry both Absol and Kee over to the cave entrance itself.
Catching a fainted pokemon with a Heal Ball will revive them with 1 HP, yes.
When Kee peeks into the cave he sees...

...what looks like a Kangaskhan shaped rock? It doesn't look or feel like there's any immediate danger...it certainly looks weird, though...what's a Kangaskhan statue doing here?
The Explorer Badge that Kee's holding also begins to glow a little brighter when Kee approaches the statue.

Well, that feeling makes him a lot more introspective about the Items of Arceas he carries. Are they calling him and any others that hold them to the mountain because of this ongoing Tauros shit supernatural mystery force, is that just a general response they have the closer someone gets to Mt. Coronet and/or Spear Pillar? And is this feeling well intentioned, benign, or possibly even malevolent ? Certainly something for Ran to mull over as his continues his exploration of the mountain...

If a Roll is necessary to convince Johnathan about this, I'm prepared to have Ran spend 48 XP to raise his INS and Contest by 1 at the very least. I may spend even more, after I count how much XP I've earned from the past few Fights that Ran's hand with his Pokemon.

Very well, then once Kee and all of his Pokemon + the feline and dark prophet have arrived at that ominous cave entrance, he asks Orpheus to gently set that Absol down, then nudges them (the Absol) with one of those Emergency Heal Ball of his. He may not have...originally planned to do so, but that ery very thankful look this Absol have given him before they passed out from the fight has done a great job to change his mind on that. Ex-Shadowmon being thankful for their purification - Now Kee's curious about that.
This Absol is fainted and paralyzed, the Heal Ball has a Seal Strength of 2 and will revive them to 1HP + cure the Paralysis. If this Ball breaks, try another Heal Ball. If it breaks too, go for a Super Ball.
Given Kee's horrible Strength an Absol may not be an ideal Pokemon for him - but only for so long as his Pokemon use his Stats instead of their own. ~~☆

Speaking about what Lucas has told Kee about that purification - WHERE DAFAQUE IS HE?? He can't have disappeared, and he feels that Lucas is capable enough to get along himself - aka, not dumb enough to fall down a cliff and die. If Kee saw that right, he was pursuing an Absol that ran EASTWARDS... Could he be somewhere around HERE = where Kee currently is? He and Octavia look around for any hints of the Champ, at their current tile and at that strange but actually pretty Kangaskhan Rock/Statue.
Looking at it from cthe cave's entrance, Kew realizes that whoever made this rock really knows their stuff, such fine details are worked into the stone!~ Huh, and is this Rock functioning like Stairs, since the closer he comes the brighter the Badge glows? Seems so. But first make this Absol his partnermon, then look whether Lucas' around here, then touching the Statue to get to the next floor.

Shadow? Absol Round 2
Absol's the fastest thing on this battlefield, so question number one is: does it flee successfully?
Flee 1
A: (5)(5)(1)(1)(5)
K: (1)(2)(5)(4)
Kogeki barely manages to outmaneuver Absol as it trips on a small rock in its haste. That feline isn't getting away now.
Heracross immediately moves in for the Knockout, determined to get this KO no matter what. (Spend that Will Point!)
Arm Thrust 1-4 (you forgot the +1 Str surprise)
(5)(1)(5)(4)(4)(4)(3)(4) Crit.
(5)(2)(1)(5)(6)(3)
(5)(3)(1)(6)
(3)(5) 4 hits!
(3)(4)(4) Absol takes 3 damage and eats its Sitrus Berry.
(2)
(2)
(6) Absol takes 4 more damage! 3/9 HP -2 Pain
While Heracross backs up and repositions, Susano'o charges, cloaked in water. This feline isn't going to get away this time!
Waterfall 1
(6)(4)(6)(2)(3)(4)(5) Get soaked! That's a crit!
(3)(5)(2)(1)(4)(3)(3)(1)(3) Absol takes 0 damage, however, much to Susano'o's disappointment.
Kogeki's all up in Absol's face. He's still not entirely used to wielding the Sword two handed again, however, and still needs to deal with a -1 Accuracy penalty.
Strike 1
(1)(4)(2)(4)(1)(1)(5)
(6) Absol takes 1 damage 2/9 HP -2 Pain
Susano'o tries to soak Absol again and end this fight sooner rather than later.
Aqua Jet 2
(5)(2)(3)(6)(5)
(1)(6)(3) ...to no effect. Absol takes 0 damage once more. Kogeki's closest partner is pretty few up with trying to use Water in this sunlight.
Absol tries to fight back, trying to inconvenience the bug so it has a better chance to get away.
Bite 2
5 + 4 + 3 - 4 - 2 = 6
(1)(2)(3)(3)(4)(4)
3 + 2 + STAB - 3 - NVE = 3 - 1
(3)(4)(3)
(3)(2)(4) No damage, no Flinch. Better luck next time, Absol.
Strike 2
(5)(1)(3)(6)(5)
(4) Absol takes 1 damage. 1/9 HP -3 Pain
Kogeki's sword slashes are careful and precise, and the fight's at a point where any one solid hit from Kogeki or his pokemon could end this battle immediately. Absol's getting desperate, so it tries one last trick.
Me First 3
5 + 2 + 2 - 3 - 6 = 0
However, Absol can't fully anticipate Susano'o's next attack because of being unable to focus due to extreme pain, so the attack fails.
Susano'o opts to use raw power instead of fancy techniques this time.
Iron Head 3
(6)(2)(3)
(3)(3)(2)(6)(5)(2)(5) Absol takes 3 damage and finally faints!
Susano'o sends the Dark type flying with his brutally powerful Iron Head attack. It slams into the side of the mountain, losing consciousness instantaneously.
No dark aura evaporates into the air, however. Instead, the Absol begins to change. It shrinks, begins changing color from white to pink...
...until eventually, it's revealed that it was actually a Ditto all along, not an Absol. ;P
Heracross, Nagi, and Susano'o all get 3 exp. Kogeki gets 4.
"So...The Absol was a Ditto. Interesting." Said the ninja while he shreat back the sword. "You took us a lot of trouble to beat you friend. Great work you too...lets just avoid next time in fight in Sunny Day Susanoo. It a pain in the ass." Kogeki grab 2 Great Balls and 1 Ultra Ball. "Now. Lets do the most important part: Capture this Ditto. This one can be a great partneer in the future. If he was capable in Transform into a Shadow Pokemon, imagine what more he is capable of."
Action: 2 Great Ball and 1 Ultra on Ditto Dragon.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

- Jonathan's quite surprised at Ran's goal of getting a Legendary pokemon. "A Heatran?! My, that's...certainly ambitious. What I wouldn't do to have a Legendary Fire type in my own collection...but alas, I'm afraid such a dream is likely beyond a man of my capabilities. If you do find any leads, however, I'd certainly be more than happy to assist you however I can should we share the reward!"
- Yeah, Jonathan's gonna need a little convincing before he'll take that letter. It's a convincing argument, though, so the roll will get a +1 bonus. This particular persuasion attempt will be Empathy based, as it's playing on sympathy and good nature. (Please make sure you update your character sheet to reflect the upgraded stats, Windos)
5 Ins + 1 Contest + 0 Empathy
(3)(2)(6)(1)(5)(5) 4 successes. Not bad.
Jonathan will roll Will to oppose it. He has 5 Will.
(4)(4)(4)(1)(3) 3 successes
Jonathan reluctantly agrees to Randolph's request. "...well, if it's that important...if you haven't resolved...whatever is going on in a few days, then I suppose I can get the word out..."
Jonathan obtained Randolph's letter!
"Well then, I do believe it's about time I was on my way. I just pray that whatever it is you want me to do works..."
Scizor holds out the Explorer Badge once more, and Jonathan touches it. Scizor then holds it up in the air, and Jonathan is suddenly Teleported away by a pillar of light as the badge begins to glow!
...and the badge continues to glow as well, even after Jonathan leaves. Both Karen and Scizor perk up when they see that. "Oh! The badge! I think that means somebody found the stairs!"
Scizor nods, and indicates that everyone should be prepared to Teleport. Time to go to the next floor of the dungeon!
(I'll get back to this group once I've addressed everything else.)

As soon as Kee touches the statue, the Explorer Badge glows really bright! It's almost blinding! Moments later, three pillars of light Teleport the rest of the party to the statue.
First comes Randolph, Rui, Karen and Scizor. Rui and Randolph stumble a little since this is their first time experiencing this, but they aren't surprised since they saw it happen at the start of Floor 2 and Scizor warned them right before it happened. Karen's excited to see Kee! "Kee! Did you find the stairs?" Rui's looking around the room, puzzled. "...this is weird...where are we...?"
Scizor, by contrast, calmly walks over to the statue and touches his badge to it, then starts fiddling with something. He gives Kee an approving nod as he walks past. If he had thumbs, he'd totally be giving the man a thumbs up, too. Good job!
Next is Kogeki, who doesn't stumble because this isn't his first time Teleporting. He's just not used to Teleporting in this manner, and he had no warning, so he was likely caught off guard.
Last but not least is Lucas! He momentarily looks surprised for similar reasons go Kogeki. "Whoa! Okay, what the heck is...oh? Oh hey, there ya guys are! I was trying to find ya after that avalanche separated us! Turns out I was chasing a Zoroark, not an Absol. So...where the heck are we right now?"
Looking around the room, there's one path behind the group and in front of the statue (which has now been obscured by a mysterious fog. This is the entrance Kee used), and one path behind the statue (also obscured by fog). Aside from the Kangaskhan statue and the exits, there's nothing else of note in the room.
Scizor finishes fiddling with the statue and sits down in a corner of the room, taking a moment to relax.
"...so...do you mind explaining where we are, Scizor?"
Lucas summons Sally to translate again. She looks confused as Scizor explains at first, but she closes her eyes and accepts the strangeness of it all after he finishes.
Scizor says we're at a rest area of sorts. We're safe here according to him. If we take the path in front of the statue, it'll get us out of the Mystery Dungeon and put us back at the entrance. The path behind the statue, meanwhile, will take us to the next floor. He recommends we rest while we have the chance. The dungeon's only going to get more difficult to traverse from here, and statues like these are usually only found when there's great danger ahead.
Lucas thinks about that for a moment and what that means. "...well, you heard him. If anyone wants to turn back now, this is your last chance, it seems. We're getting close to Spear Pillar. I imagine the section ahead is going to be the upper levels of Mt. Coronet's cave system, and those link directly to the Spear Pillar itself. Once we're there...well, I don't know what exactly we'll find, but chances are that Dialga's waiting for us...for one reason or another. If anyone doesn't want to continue, then I don't blame you. Facing a Legendary is not for the faint of heart."
Scizor startles when Lucas mentions that. Wait, what?! Nobody told him that Dialga was here!
Rui startles too. "...a...L-Legendary pokemon? Are you sure about that?"
Karen nods (and notably is also trying to keep her distance from Sally again). "Unfortunately, yeah...something's wrong with Dialga, apparently. We talked to the Lake Trio earlier, and...well, they gave us a Red Chain to help seal Dialga's power! So...I'm staying. Honestly, I'm scared, and I don't know what to think of all of this, but...if there's something I can do, I want to help. Whatever's causing all this trouble that's pulling pokemon and people from other worlds to the mountain, the source of it all must be at the top! If we go there, maybe we can find out how to return you to your worlds, Kee and Scizor!"
Scizor has to think about that for a moment. He nods after a little thought. He's gonna stay too.
Rui looks uncertain. "...do you think the reason I lost my memory is related to what's going on at...Spear Pillar, you said?"
"Maybe. Can't really say for certain. But if you ask me, I think it's the best lead you're probably going to get. If we can calm down Dialga, I'm sure they can help you with that little problem, too."
Rui thinks about it...then also nods. "...a-alright...guess I don't have much of a choice but to tr-trust you on this..." Espeon cuddles with Rui, trying to comfort her (and also completely unphased by the idea of facing a Legendary pokemon, weirdly). It'll be all right. Rui absentmindedly pets the cat pokemon.
The group can rest here for the night, as it's isolated from the rest of the dungeon. If there's anything you wish to do before the end of the day/before heading to the third floor of the dungeon, do it now. This is the midway point of the dungeon, so you guys can have a short break from the action if you wish.

As for Lucas, Kee doesn't see any sign of the Champ yet. He must not have chased his Absol in this direction.
---------------------------
As soon as Kee touches the statue, the Explorer Badge glows really bright!
In the exactly moment Kogeki finally capture Ditto, he and his Pokemon get teleported. He was quickly enough to not stumble very much messy, and quick recover. "...If I can be honest, I pretty sick of these sudden teleports. First time is okay, but now its getting ridiculous."
Upon hearing the possibility in face a Legendary Pokemon and possibility of simple turn back, Kogeki said a few words. "Its not like I have a choice in the matter Champ Kiddo." He mean Lucas. "Its not like I can simple can teleport away. The time space in this place could mess up with Kirlia teleport. Besides, I have my own personal reasons." Kogeki approach Lucas and show his mechanical arm, problably making Rui starle since its the first time he see the grumpy ninja artifical arm. "I feel the bastard who took everything from me is close. I will get the answers I fight for a long time way before you get that Champion tittle boy. I am no weak person. Tomorrow, Dialga will feel the steel of my sword. I always wanted to hurt a god myself. How can I lost such opportunity?"
Kogeki than look to Karen and Randolph. "Karen? I believe you still have that Alpico with ya? I would like to take a look in him before settle a possible trade. And Master Rans? I found a Ditto in my path. It copy the form of a Shadow Absol. Its have no loyalty to no one, but I pretty sure you could find some use. Lets arrange some sort of trade alright? But a Transform Ditto could always find a place in my Team. A ninja can always find use in Transform Pokemon.
