[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
A Big Apple we don't have, but 2 normal Apples that Kee's holding on - one that we found yesterday in Dry Forest, and one that Kee bought from Kecleon. That's one spare unless anyone of us gets hungry.

But yes, already stated in-game, I kinda prefer to pick the two easier F Rank missions.

Goody! That two for the Rough Rock Mountain Pat! We just need one more vote for this to be the majority option, so hopefully No One or Spiritmon can get onboard the low risk train with us, choo choo!

I'll get to posting when everyone else decide what Trail path they wish to run, as Pyra wouldn't have any real preference in Missions OOC until she's heard all her group mates opinions IC.

Quote:I saying that too, because Komalas have moves we should be aware of: Komalas can learn by leve Rollout, Yawn, Stockpile/Spit Up, Sucker Punch and Woodhammer. Yawn could be a nasty move to deal it in case we fall sleep. And Sotckpile/Spit Up is dangerous normal types moves. Its not dangerous for Kogeki since they are Normal-type moves, but might be dangerous for anyone else.

Gonna reign in some expectations here.  It's unlikely Komala would have strong moves like Sucker Punch and Woodhammer for an E Rank mission, particularly since those moves are later in its level up movepool.  The missions on the board scale from F (lowest) to A (highest).  The higher the difficulty, the stronger the wild pokemon are, and the more shenanigans I might try to pull (particularly with Outlaws, who are not wild pokemon, and thus usually somewhat stronger/smarter than them).

F and E are both really tame compared to the higher ranked difficulties, and are generally used for early game dungeons with low level pokemon.  Most of the foes you should face during those difficulties are unlikely to be much stronger than you guys currently are.

Oh, in that case, I very much up for Komala mission! But we still need to be careful around Stockpile and Spit Out. Those moves can be know by Komala in early levels, so it might show some sort of danger.

I still prefer going with the two missions, as they're still more low risk than going up against a criminal baddy at this stage of our charas.' growth arcs. Sure, we managed to beat Boldore and his minions without getting anyone KOed and Primal Triggered, but that was a fight against a borderline feral and territorial Pokemon that'd acted carefully and retreated the first sign of getting Fainted. Fighting a gainst a criminal, who probably doesn't have much to lose with going all out and being as annoying and/or nasty as possible to avoid capture and continue their crime spree? They're probably going to be a fair bit more problematic to deal with, and that's assuming they don't have any tricks, traps, or allies lying in wait for us.

Plus, completing two missions is better than just one in terms of being efficient, and shows the Guild the group is willing to undertaking what amounts to menial work for the betterment of the whole organization, and are also being smart about their choices to boot. Taking risks can be a good thing, and I don't think the group taking the E Mission would go badly even in worst case scenarios, but why take it just yet when we're not entirely equipped to deal with the full range of negative consequences should things go up the creek?

That, and I don't really want to brave a Desert Dungeon this early in the game. Be it IRL or in a tabletop setting, rarely are those sandy wastelands anything remotely nice to experience, least of all unprepared.

I still kinda wish to take both F Rank Mission too and not put down Komala, because

1. desert dungeons tend to have sandstorm raging within them, constantly damaging us - we're still low on HP that 1 autodamage every now and then will quickly wear us down
2. we'll certainly won't just presented the fight against Komala upon entering the dungeon, gotta search for them and possibly run into other battles against wild 'Mon beforehand, and fighting an outlawmon when being weakened already just calls for failure (as in, I made the mistake to go after outlaws rather early in ExplorersOfSky, and they all creamed me because I didn't have enough power nor Seeds to stun/confuse/blinker them to defuse their power
3. I REALLY don't want to fail the trial, so I rather want to play it safe and search for a lost Stufful and Apples
4. it's two missions in the same dungeon - the more missions we can complete in the same place at once, the better (as in, I'm used to collect job requests/wondermail codes for 50+ floor dungeons until I had min. five (better more) so that it's really gonna worth it traveling there)
5. if a desire for battles and earned XP is a reason to fight Komala, there'll certainly be battles against wild Pokemon as we walk around to complete the E Ranks too.

Thank you for being okay with taking the F Rank Missions then, happy to hear that!~ I'm certain we'll still run into battles against wild Pokemon while searching for Stufful and Apples, even if we won't do so anyway we can choose to actively seek out fights to earn XP.

Slightly Off Topic: If you're bored and want to watch someone play through a PMD game or are curious about what the actual gameplay is like but don't have the time to play the game yourself, the esteemed Chuggaaconroy is going to be starting a Let's Play of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX on May 14th.  Chuggaa's an amazing dedicated Let's Player I've been a fan of for years, and I'm very excited about his new LP!

Chuggaa uploads his (usually ~20 minute) videos at 5 PM EST almost every day, so there's almost always a new video to look forward to as long as life doesn't get in the way of his scheduling (he's very good about informing the community when life does get in the way, though).

Disclaimer: this post is in no way affiliated with Chuggaaconroy or his channel.  I am merely a fan of his work and wanted to share the news since it's somewhat relevant to the primary topic of this game.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get around to playing RTDX's Post Game before Chuggaa uploads his videos on it.

Have fun playing and watching their LP then!~ Nah, but I'm good at the moment..
