[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
(08-29-2020, 10:38 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: .......I'm not surprised you guys refused, but I'm still immensely disappointed none the less. Wasting Healing on an enemy that isn't guaranteed to join the group isn't a good idea, and at this point in the game we need all the Resource we can get to either sell or get goodies. So with that said, I ask again: can you all all please let Pyra kill the Klink, or at the very least let her dissaude Karen from attempting to heal it instead of Kogeki? What will it take to get your permission on this? Favors? Poke? Certain concessions? Let's reach a compromise on this, so that we all can get something out of this without incurring a net less in one aspect or another.

I'm gonna post in the game thread a little bit later, so hold that thought.

If all options fail, as in 'neither Karen nor Kee manage to help Klink', then I may let Kee do as Pyra desires - he's not going to like it a single bit however, but will not hold it against her either to avoid drama in-chara which I outta-chara don't want to happen.

EDIT: Uh, @Spiritmon, would be best to hold back yourself the next time when using your Kunai and other ninja weapons to deal non-lethal damage instead. Alright?

I'm against her using Healing on Klink BECAUSE it's a huge potential waste, so that isn't exactly a good compromise for us dear.

Dragonstrike has got a post to make about this, though, so I'll drop this until I see what it is for everyone's shake.

Ah, I see... Okay, then my suggestion's not gonna work at all, that's true. Though, uh, I see not much of a problem with attempting the Healing from Karens and Kee's side, mostly because it doesn't take us any Rescources - the easiest way would be likely to let Klink have an Oran Berry, but I really want to keep the one I have for ourselves. Psychic fairy's and furry crittercoon's Actions may be seen as a waste of potential, or as a chance to do something good to a wild 'Mon (which kinda is what Rescue Teams shall do), depends.

Enough of that now indeed though, gonna see what the dice and GM will decide!~

Due to the revisions Dragonstrike has made, most forms of Healing costs Will, which is beyond resting is pretty hard to get back, ESPECIALLY mid-Dungeon crawl. And since Basic Recovery Healing scales off 1/2 of the healer's Max HP and the Heal Roll itself is random.....it's pretty costly, methinks.

Also, the group is an Adventurer Group, not a Rescue Team or Exploration Team. Helping Pokemon isn't a primary obligation of us, just something we CAN do to further our own respective goals, I believe (could be wrong, though!).

In gameplay, I don't typically approve of doing good for Goodness' shake if it has a non-negligible cost attached. Call me selfish, but I don't like waste or excessive risk in my game plan, and I don't want to see a trend form where the group does good at cost to themselves willy nilly.

Just FYI for everyone!

On the other hand, I like to enjoy the games I play, and heartlessly murdering something isn't exactly my idea of fun. If Karen wants to heal the Klink, she should be allowed to. Dax would approve of that. If Pyra wants to kill the Klink, Dax will vehemently oppose that. Live and let live and all that. Besides, I see no need in healing Kogeki right now, because as I understand it, his health will go back to full in the next tile. I'm not enormously fond of playing every game in a calculated way, because it really takes the fun out of it.

Putting aside all of my own grievances with that course of action, if Pyra tries to kill Klink, Dax will oppose it. Violently, if needs be. Simply because that's in his character. He doesn't do the whole killing thing. Especially cos he understands what it's like to have to attack someone to survive.

For those curious, this is the specifics of the move that Karen just learned:

Life Dew
Accuracy: Special + Survival + Nature
Effect: Heals 1 HP at the end of every Round for 4 Rounds.
Notes: Spread move.  User spends one Will Point upon a successful roll.

Essentially, it's a version of Aqua Ring that can affect multiple pokemon simultaneously in Pokerole.  Much stronger than its equivalent in the SwSh.

And for those wondering, yes, I adapted this from the 2.0 book.

To each their own, as I say. I'm simply have stated my opinion on all this, and begged for you and the others to consider it. If you end up disagreeing with me that much, so be it.

.....That being said, vehemently opposing and possibly attacking Pyra over possibly mercy killing a random NPC that is already dying and whose death is probably unavoidable this will certainly not put you in my good graces, mate. The fact that you're issuing an ultimatum over this (regardless of everyone elses stance) at ALL I find to be....overly aggressive and worrying. Especially since I've made none myself, and have so fair refrained from posting what I want to do with Pyra in order to see what Dragonstrike does and minimize trouble. I also somewhat resent the implication that my way of playing isn't fun or enjoyable over yours, but as I said you're entitled to your own opinions.

Point being, I think taking things a bit too seriously and you're not being considerate of what I want. I'm all for character conflict and drama in game, but when it spills over to OOC it stops being so enjoyable and starts becoming a drag on everyone. That's just my take on it, however, so do as you may with it.

So things worked out after all. Guess luck favors the bold sometimes.

I say we should hold off naming it until we hear if it wants one or not. Wouldn't be too friendly to call someone a nickname if they don't want to be, no?
