[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
(03-02-2024, 02:14 AM)Mikaruge108 Wrote: Darren tries to get the jump on Barbaracle, with Swadloon at the ready to pop off a Razor Leaf

Darren's Ambush roll: Dex(2)+Survival(2)+Stealth(2)=6D6 vs ins+survival+alert of the Barbaracle (hopefully it is too busy doing its thing to notice Darren?)

Razor Leaf
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(4)+Channel(4)+Single Action(1)=12D6
Damage: Strength(2)+STAB(1)+QE(2)+Miracle Seed(1)+2=8D6+1
Notes:High crit, ranged

Ambush! Swadaloon!
DEX (2) + Survival (2) + Stealth [Swadaloon] (0) = 4D6 Dice
(5)(3)(3)(6) Tie
Barbaracle's Alertness!
INS (2) + Survival (4) + Alert (2) - 2 (Distracted) = 6D6 Dice
(2)(2)(3)(1)(6)(6) Tie

Your little Buggy burrito tries their best to get into position for a sneaky barrage of leaves, but the walking barnacles notices just as they get into range and cease their practice, stomping forward to meet this challenger head on. Time to practices on live, moving dummies!

Initiatives:
Swadaloon: 7 + (4) = 11
Barbaracle: 2 DEX + 4 Survival + 2 Alert + (3) = 11, Goes to Fully Evovled Pokemon

Barbacle goes first, then Swadaloon.

Surfside Monster Spar Round 1!

He notes the location/price of the Photo Balls, but he's already got a couple.

Then he heads off to the Survival place (without a battle), keeping an eye out for any hints of information about Wailmer, plus whatever else the Survival center might have to offer.

Janice seems disappointed by your lack of adventurous when it comes to her full selection, but concedes and gets you your new Camera. "No warranty for this level of purchase, so if you break it you're paying full price for repairs or a replacement!"

You decide to take your time getting to the Survival Center, letting your feet and ears drag you all over to see if you can pick up any Insight as to where to find some Wailmer at...

Wailmer Fact/Rumor Hunt!
INS (3) + Survival (2) + Alert (2) - Location (2) - Rissy Vibe (1) - No Leads (1) = 3D6 Dice
(6)(2)(4) 2 Successes

Not much word to be had about getting yourself a whale of a Pokemon around here, especially from the locals who scoff at your attemtps to get info out of them, but you do manage to get a small Lead from a fisherman on a shopping trip - The Deep Sea Diving businesses or the Marina Fleet might be avenues to finding yourself that Mon, as Wailmers tend to either be far out at sea and/or located in the depths. Looks like you'll have to do some scrounging around there and sleuthing/socializing to see you'll get your chance to see an Oran of the Seas...

"Not sure why you're bothering with one of those behemoths, mate. Sure, their Size is great, and if you can grow them up to a Wailord they're almost impossible to wear out, but they're not exactly suited for the Land or most places ya can Battle in. Being Big also makes ya a more attractive target to swarms of Wild critters looking for their next juicy meal. Ah, but what do I know? I just like catching the small fishies and Mons, not any of those water fiends of huge monsters of the deep!" is what the fisherman says to you before you part ways. They're also open to a 1v1 Battle with their Staryu, citing they want to toughen them up a bit to be a more reliable Illuminate Lure for him, but if perfectly fine if the offer is declined.

She just...can't. She might be a healer, and her duty is to help heal other people injuries. Both physical and emotional. But no one is able to heal the wounds in her heart.

So you any could only imagine how she was grateful to find a spot in the beach to be alone and relax a bit. She lay down in the towel, enjoying the nice breeze coming to her face. She close her eyes for a few seconds, sniffing the scent of salt water, almost like her problems is blowing away by the water.

"EEEK!"

...Until her peace was metaphorically stolen by the dandy man. She barely had time to say anything then just a startled eek. After her encounter with Morgana, she is just scary to any suddenly call to her attention.

She look at the man, and recompensing herself, she tried to keep her best apologetic smile. "Sorry about this...been having a rough day and get startled by your sudden presence."

"Second? Huh, I just hope the person didn't get hurt or anything. I just found this place to rest a bit."

She doesn't know what "sheela" is. She's probably so much outside of Sutalör she might have forgotten some words. Regardless she offer a space to the guy to sit beside her. "Well...I do came here to have some alone time...but I would be lying if I said some company would be good. And lift the spirits would be a good start I suppose. Guess fate would not let me be alone I guess. I do not mean that in a rude way I swear!"

"String Shot, followed by Razor Leaf!"

String Shot
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(4)+Channel(4)-Penalty(1)-Actions(2)=8D6
Notes: Dex -1 to target, if it is possible to give Barbaracle effectively 0 Dex, will be used twice (6D6)

Razor Leaf
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(4)+Channel(4)-Penalty(1)-Actions(4)=6D6 (4D6 if String Shot is used twice)
Damage: Strength(2)+STAB(1)+QE(2)+Miracle Seed(1)+2=8D6+1

As for Dragonstrike's Encounter : I'll get to it later due to some details that need to be hashed out, but you notice that Ianai has elected to join you for your trip. If asked, she plainly states 'I have nowhere else to go, and the city does not interest me. My path shall stay with you, for now.' Maybe you can get some conversation out of her to pass the time while you're trying to get to the Embassy?

Seddi will allow the hug, but politely decline the offer to carry him.  "Think I've attracted enough attention for today, friendo.  'Preciate the offer though, and you'll be the first to know if I don't feel like I can walk for some reason."

Ianai electing to join Seddi on his trip to the embassy gets a simple nod from him.  "Well alrighty then.  I'll introduce you to the Professor and we can see if we can put together a plan.  As I mentioned, some local knowledge would be very helpful for our research."

Then he leans in to whisper to her.  "Just keep it down if you notice anything...strange about her.  Don't want to draw unnecessary attention."  Seddi already knows first hand how perceptive Ianai is, so better to warn her before they get to the Paldean Embassy...

That's the main thing Seddi needed to say to Ianai, so ready whenever!

Goodra pouts at the denai1, but they aquisit to your stern denai1 in the end. One day they'11 cart you around before the weec is out, though, bet on it!

Ianai simp1y nods to you, though she raises an eyebrow as you whispered that warning.

"...Noted. I reserve the right to question her 1ater if what I find is most Strange or Arcane, however, shou1d I fee1 it is needed for C1arity."

"Oooh, you're meeting with a big wig Professor? Neat! Maybe they'11 be more fun than the duddies Erni hangs 'round with!"

You and the shamanistic woman stop as you both heard a voice pop in on their conversation.

A sma11 voice.

A cute voice.

A smo1 adorab1e face sudden1y was dang1ing in front of yours, hanging on and upside down on your hat, yet perfect1y ba1anced and without noticab1e weight.

He'd pick up 1 Taunt TM from the bargain bin as well as the Capture Cube, this device shall pay itself back soon enough. Lots of interesting stuff to revisit when his reserves of bait run out as well.

(also cap cube ruling question, does it hold the mon instead of a pokeball or do I have to catch something normally first to use it, if it works like a ball what would be the ''seal strength''?)

Wait, that voice sounds famil...

Seddi is rather startled by the tiny pokemon appearing right in front of his face before he's ready for it and falls over, his hat falling off his head in the process!

"Vaultin' Veluza!  Where in tarnation did you come from?!"

...and out comes his Veluza from their pokeball in dramatic fashion, gnashing his teeth eagerly in anticipation!  Did someone call for him?!  What needs to be sliced and diced?!

After a moment of blinking away the surprise, Seddi picks himself up, dusts himself off, and puts the hat back on.

"Stand down Veluza, stand down.  Just a little surprised, that's all."

Seddi gives this very strange pokemon a very curious look, seemingly understanding (partially) who's talking to them surprisingly quickly.  "So, you're Bernhard's friend?  Didn't take him for the type to have such a...how do I put this...unique partner.  Not gonna judge of course.  I'm a bit on the strange side myself, after all."

Cha-Ching! Items got! Record them down in your Inventory, as a1ways!

Ru1ing - It ho1ds the Mon instead of the pokeball , but you first have to catch it with a Regu1ar Ba11. You can then Transfer the Catch into the Cube and then Re-use the Ba11 you used to catch the Mon for whatever you want. Basica11y, the Cube is a Temp Ho1ding Pin for Mons you don't want to add to your Team right away (or as an emergency option to rep1ace a mon that has to be sent to the PC/died, if you are that paranoid) or are p1anning to se11/trade/use as food 1ater, but in order to use it you have to go through standard Capture Procedures. The Mon is re1eased from the Cube after 24 Hours if the Mon is not transferred into another Party's Ba11, however, so you got a day to get whatever you caught to wherever its fina1 destination wi11 be!
