He comes and interposes himself between Nathan and Heart.

Kirlia blinks.  Wait a moment...

Ack!  It's a Steel type!

Kirlia quickly gets behind Nathan.  That pain from the Muk is becoming all too apparent now...

"...Heart.  Please call off your Aron."

Well, this was certainly bringing back memories...

Heart couldnt help but chuckle a bit.

"It seems Kirlia dont have much Iron in his diet. Perhaps we should....Aron(an)ge a date with a Gardevoir to help his mood. Kirlia indeed "Rock" in this swamp. Hihi." Heart chuckle a bit because of the joke. "That doesnt need for that Aron. We could have dificult in defeat that Murk by ourselfs, even with a battle 2x1. We have luck Nathan was passby here. Dont be a meanie with the Kirlia. Behave youself. Hmm, I didnt think a proper name for you. I think I will call you....Gawain. The Armor Pokemon, Gawain. What you think of that name Aron?"

After tasting the honey, the creature comes and lands on your shoulder, and points with one claw toward the camp! It wants to see this honeyman for itself.

The empath almost startled as the green serpent bird decided to roost on his shoulder and start ordering him around, which subsequently caused Apsis to let out an extremely irate *Hiiiiiissss!* as her patience/tolerance was tested, but he choose to let out a jolly chuckle instead, defusing tension between both serpents somewhat.

"My my, what boldness you possess for such a little creature! More and more, you remind me of the Dragon types I worked with in the past, and it make me wonder if your species has some connection to them! Ah well, that's a topic to be investigated for another time. Let us make way to camp, and get you aquanted with Nathan and his vast stores of Honey...." he said with mirth in his tone, before he began marching towards where the group designated they would all meet later in the day, his giant snake following behind him to protect his rear and keep an eye of the weird green Pokémon if it decides to make any funny moves. If it so much as twitches the wrong way, its getting an Ice Fang for its troubles, *Hisss!*

Order: Ventus is going to return to camp and seek out Nathan company to introduce the strange Pokémon to them in the hopes of sealing the deal. Of course, their is always the possibility it chooses to be their Pokémon instead of his, which would be.....annoying to say the least. Please don't let that be the case....

[Dragonstrike]

Heart couldnt help but chuckle a bit.

Kirlia doesn't find that funny.  He stays behind Nathan still.

"...I'd recommend you not joke about the Steel, Heart.  That's not doing you any favors with Kirlia.  To put it mildly, he has a rather extreme dislike of Steel in particular."

11 months before this story began...

It was just another lazy day in Trillium.  Another day with Ralts.  Had it really only been a month since he'd found the little guy?  He was up and about as if he hadn't been 5 minutes away from dying already.  Not a care in the world...heh...

It made Nathan happy to see this Ralts playing with the few poketoys his mom had managed to find around the house.  The Ponyta didn't really use them all that often, thankfully.

Nathan glances in the direction of the town's gate to the route leading to Mt. Sentry.  Such a large and intimidating mountain...Mt. Molten was scarier, of course, being an active volcano, but it wasn't so bad, living in the space between mountain ranges.  Newcomers would be rather daunted by the prospect, though.

A second look at Mt. Sentry, and Nathan spots a hiker meandering into town.  Great.  Another visitor...well, maybe he'd have some more news about what was going on outside Trillium.  Nathan would listen in on whatever conversation he got into.  Or engage in it himself if the man approached him.  No way was he going to walk up to him.

The man walks into the center of town, stops, looks around...spots Nathan and the Ralts beside him.

"Ho!  You're a local, I take it?"

"Yeah, I live around here.  Just came from Mt. Sentry?"

"Yup!  Bagged myself a rare pokemon while I was up there, too!"

Nathan raises an eyebrow.  "Oh, did you now?"

The hiker gives a hearty chuckle.  "Indeed I did!  You and your Ralts care to meet the little fellow?"

"Sure, I guess.  Should kill a little time."

Ralts looks up.  A friend to play with?  Ooh, this might be fun!

The hiker throws a pokeball, and out comes...

...and Aron.

Ralts's eyes go wide in fear as soon as he sees that Aron, and he immediately runs and hides behind Nathan.

"Wha...?  Ralts, is everything okay?  Ralts?"

The little pokemon is too scared to move.

"Oh...my apologies, kid.  I'll recall Aron now, okay?  Didn't mean to spook your Ralts.  So, which way to the pokemon center?"

"It's over there on the western side of town, across from Mallorn's Lab.  Can't miss it.  Brightest roof in the area."

Nathan kneels in front of Ralts as the Hiker recalls his Aron and heads off to the Center.  "Hey, you doing okay buddy?  It was just a little Aron, you know..."

Over the next few months, whenever someone passed through town with a Steel type of some kind, no matter what kind they were, Ralts would run and hide behind Nathan.  Without fail.  Nathan eventually managed to connect the dots and figure out Ralts doesn't like Steel at all.  Ralts would eventually stop hiding from Steel types on a consistent basis, but the fear has never really gone away...Nathan's been very, very careful around Steel types ever since.  The only ones that Ralts would seem to be mostly okay with were the ones owned by League Officials such as the Shield Maidens on the very rare occasions they passed through Trillium...though he still preferred to keep his distance if at all possible.

Of course, this is all just one problem.  

Now Ventus is approaching the camp, and Kirlia is quick to alert Nathan about that.

Nathan turns to face Ventus as he approaches.  He's VERY wary right now, and still somewhat nervous.

And then he almost does a double take.

Wait...what kind of pokemon is THAT on Ventus's shoulder?!

And why is it pointing at him?!

Uuuhhhh...yup, now Nathan is really starting to get nervous...

"Swiftfire, Kirlia, stay back..."

Nathan calls the Combee duo over.  Whatever that pokemon is, it looks like a Grass type...

[Iron]

As Ventus gets close enough, Nathan can see that the Pokemon's brilliant plumage is sticky with honey! When it sees him it smiles ^_^ and claps its front limbs while its tail hangs over Ventus' shoulder for balance.

Upon seeing proof that Nathan has honey, the Pokemon seems like it'll be willing to ride around with Ventus, as long as nothing happens to stop that flow of honey.

Ventus still doesn't know the identity of his new friend, but his intuition confirms the draconic attitude of this Pokemon. It'll ride in a Pokeball at times, if you want, but it mostly prefers to ride on his shoulder.

Quetzoral: Happiness 2, Loyalty 2, Disobedience 2.

The researcher couldn't help but roll his eyes and let out a small huff at how guarded Nathan and his Pokémon became when he approach him with the strange serpent bird on his shoulder, and decided to smooth things over before they react in a poor manner. "At ease, Nathan, this Pokémon means no harm to any of us....at least if we don't provoke it. I found this charming little girl while I was hunting with Apsis out in the swamp, and decided to try and convince it that joining my family would serve the best interests of both of us. As you see, I managed to do so partially, but part of the bargaining process involved sharing some of the Honey you gave me earlier, after which they were insistent on meeting you herself before making a final decision. Hopefully you'll humor her like I did, my....friend" he says in a calm, diplomatic tone, though the last part sound rather forced to anyone with even a inkling of Insight. Oh well, at least he's trying to be more polite, so the thought counts?

Heart follow Nathan to the camp and when he see Ventus with a draconic bird in his shoulder he almost couldnt hold a breath. "No...way...this is...." Heart dont come much closer to not scare the Pokémon. "I only see in old books, but never could see a Quetzoral." Heart almost explode inside.

Heart's revealing of the serpentine bird as a Quetzoral caused the researcher to perk up a bit, and turned to regard the Pokémon on his shoulder with a kind and curious expression on his face. "So that is what your species is called, hmm? I've don't think I recall ever hearing such a Pokémon, so you must either be quite the rarity indeed, or your kind hales originates from such a distant land that their is scarely any information available for the rest of the world! Intriguing! Heart, since you seem to be the most aware about this Quetzoral, would you care to inform us more about it, if you are able to?" Ventus said, giving the rare collecter in question an deeply excited and highly analytical look, as if his eyes were trying to pick him appart for all the information about his newest sister. He often doesn't get this way unless he encounters something particularly exciting/interesting that pertains to Pokémon research, but when he does its hard to kill his the sudden rise in cheerful inquisitiveness!

Case in point, Nathan continued abrasiveness/the history between them hardly dented his newfound giddiness, causing him to regard them next with a uncharacteristically (at least, when direct at him) cheerful grin as they explain why they sought him out in the first place. "Well, you see, part of the reason I was able to convince her to join me was because I offered her some Honey, and told them that you would be able to supply her more of the sweet treat too as we journeyed through Cheshire! Because of this, may I humbly ask for a portion of your Honey supply from time to time, in order to keep her sastiated and content while we are traveling? I can compensate you for your trouble if you wish, so what do you say, Nathan?"
