[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Quote:

(Hummmmm... I've got the feeling that this woman is the same gorgeous gym-leading one Spira worked together with to catch Chansey. That little problem/encounter mentioned also, is it already included here or is it supposed to be in a seperate post? I'm not sure, if it's the latter you accidently forgot to post that as it's nowhere to find.)

Shiva can barely believe her strike of luck befalling her this morning as she spotted what looked a lot like what she's been hoping to find by the base of a big 'n old oak. As she kneed down to pick these precious antlers up she fails to hold a delighted chuckle back, when investigating them very carefully she practically can't stop smiling. They feel and smell great and interestingly different that she had guessed - seem to be a mixture of plant- and mammal-based material. Sawsbuck itself she has read about a lot and even interacted with when a Summer Exemplar was given to her father's Daycare, but the stag has never allowed to her touch his antlers. Must be a sensitive spot for them.

Due to being caught up in her finding Shiva ends up being a bit startled by the woman that came to her, but the next moment even she finds herself gasping at bit at her beauty; that bit of mud doesn't appear to spoil the imagine. She's a bit shy but catches herself quickly as this woman speaks up to her. "Hehe... *embarrassed but thankful smile* Yeah, I signed up as a Volunteer Ranger for the Safari Cup and took the break between shifts to search for good crafting material. I'm Shiva, and who are you? A participant of the Cup probably?" Shiva holds out her hand to her.

"If you're, well, interested, I can surely get back to you once I turned these beautiful antlers into some just as beautiful jewelery and we can arrage a trade, yes! ^o^" She seems to rejoice about that before becoming timid when the conversation moves on to a Gloom. "Are you looking for a particular Gloom? I.... I've seen one.... Yesterday, that is. It wasn't afraid of me at all, and, uhm... even agreed to join me...! I can show you the spot I met him if you like!"

Shiva doesn't think the Gloom she owns is that woman's, as if it was he would never agree to come with Shiva and registering him to a Safari Ball would problably not work either. (Forgot to say, but let us make my Gloom a male exemplar. I like the thought of a male Gloom becoming a beautiful dancer if Shiva happens to get her hands on an additional Sun Stone.)

(Base HP for the *Azurill and exp?)
Spira uses his only Burn Heal on the Beedrill and with a "No hard feelings" to it, sends both to the PC. With that, ready for the final encounter.

Azurill is normally 3HP, so now it's effectively 2HP. Toya gains 6XP, so 3XP for Spira.

Btw, you can heal a Burn using "stop drop and roll" if you're outside of combat, so go ahead and keep that Burn Heal.

Safari Zone - Spira 3

Aggro: (1)
Rarity: (1)(3)(1)(4)(2)(1)(4)(2)(6) - 8 safari successes, the rarest yet.

Off in the distance, several hundred feet away, you see a lilypad rise out of a pond and amble across the grass. Oh, it's just a Lotad, no big deal. But as the Lotad passes through the grass stalks, they are sliced away, seemingly by the edge of the lilypad. Something very odd going on there. You head off to investigate...
*flashback*
After dealing with the desert dwellers, Spira attempts to get closer to/sneak up onto the strange Lotad, getting Luna's Ball ready for a battle if he's successful in the ambush her surprise attack will be gust.

Spira doesn't wanna push himself too hard after that battle, so he'll move to Area 3 then Area 2 expending 1 encounter in each area.

Safari Zone - Spira 4

Aggro: (2)

You find an aggressive Noctowl, who annoys you by blowing you backward so that no matter how much you change direction, you're always facing into the wind.

Rarity: (2)(2)(2)(3) A Pikachu laughs at you as you combat the Noctowl's wind. The Electric type is not at all afraid of Noctowl, of course.

*present*
"Well this is a nuisance... Hida use ancient power on that Noctowl."

Dratini is still hesitant. It's not sure how it would be to live outside of nice clear running water like this.

"I know I'm asking a lot of you.  How about we look at it this way, though: you had a good feeling about this, right?  This might be a once in a lifetime chance.  Us meeting each other...something like this might not happen again, or at least not in the exact same way.  I had a good feeling about coming here, too, and I'd like to see where this might lead.  So...how about you?"

"And ya know, I wouldn't mind visiting other bodies of water suitable for Dratini, either.  Maybe the tarns at the summits of the Great Divide...or maybe a trip to Lake Chicory...I've heard there are some beautiful Dragonair in the bays, too...this wouldn't be the last time you'd see a clear body of water to swim around in to your heart's content, I can promise you that much.  I'm probably going to visit ALL of them eventually for one reason or another."

Dratini has never seen a Dragonair.

Empathy: (6)(5)(2)(1)(1)(6) (6) - 3 successes
Will: (5)(5)(3)(5)(3)(1) (1)(5) - 3 successes

Dratini is still not convinced, and you're not sure what the problem is. It still seems hesitant.

Duskull looks you straight in the face and dramatically pushes the Spell Tag up into his eyesocket, rolling his red orb up to watch its progress into his brainpan. He watches you to see how uncomfortable it makes you.

From now on, he'll be surrounded by ghostly fire whenever he can. He might use it for tricks, too, like using it as a second eye.

"My name's Angela. If you call me Angie, I'll sic my Mawile on you." She shakes your hand, showing that she was just joking...maybe.

"I don't participate in the Cup unless I'm sure I can win first prize. This week, Anaster is participating, so I don't have a chance. I'm just here training; I like to fight Poison types. That's why I make my home in the swamp, actually."

When you show her the spot:

"Oh, it's fine if you captured my Gloom. I'll just find another. That one is just used to battling me over and over, you see, but it's probably for the best if I don't get into a rut. Plenty of Gloom in the Safari Zone. It's even possible to find Bellossom here, you know. They're rare, but they do exist! Trace amounts of Sunstone mineral in the soil can trigger evolution, sometimes."

As Shiva can tell, the Gloom doesn't actually belong to Angela. She just felt a sense of ownership with it because they've been battling each other all week. You're not sure if Gloom would want to meet her now or not.

Mostly leaving home, it seems.

You sneak up on the Lotad. It seems to be the normal color, disappointingly.

(6)(4)(4)(6) Lotad* takes 3 dmg. The little critter is bowled head over heels, causing some damage, but the attack bounced right off the lilypad that ought to have been vulnerable to it! 3/6hp -2 pain

Lotad immediately angles its lilypad at Luna. You can see the lilypad is actually made of steel, camouflaged to look like a lilypad.

"Hmmm...worried about being homesick, huh?  Well, that's fair.  I miss home sometimes, too.  I've been traveling a lot, so...it's only natural, I guess.  As I said, though...I'll probably be visiting all those bodies of water where Dratini are said to live one day, likely including a revisit to this location, so it might not be goodbye forever.  And all my pokemon friends...well, I hope they can consider traveling with me a home away from home.  I try to do whatever I can to make sure the experience is both comfortable and enjoyable for them.  And hey, if you come along, there's some things ya might get to see that you'll probably have never seen otherwise.  For example..."

Nathan gestures Dratini closer so he can whisper the next part to the little dragon.

"...I have some leads on where the Legendary HMs for DIVE and FLY are located.  And I also happen to already have the HM for ROCK SMASH.  You'd have to be a fully evolved Dragonite before being able to learn any of them, but I'd be glad to help you get to that point...does that pique your interest a little more?  Oh, and if you need proof that I have the ROCK SMASH HM...both Solomon and Gallade know it, and would be happy to demonstrate for you."
