If so, though, then I don't really have a problem with that, other than it diminishing the odds of you claiming victory over the fancy fae. Then again, better to lose completely than get penalized or hatred from a Gym Leader....

Iron's campaign ties a burn's Lethality to if you hold back on the move's lethality or not.  He introduced that with a Vulpix's Flamethrower in Shiva's little cup training, and Spirit and I have been using it with Flamethrower and Flare Blitz ever since.  And it applies to Fire Blast, Inferno, and any other move that can inflict Lethal Burns, too.  The idea/reasoning is you only clip them with the flames, rather than engulf them in it (just as if you were holding back with the move's damage), so the burn is less powerful as a result.

It's a bit of a house rule since the book only says holding back affects damage OR makes the move non-lethal (not necessarily both), but Iron's being a little more flexible with the Lethal damage rules in Skull Ruins.

Also, that third Flamethrower should have another damage die due to Blaze being at +3.

If all 3 are successes, Nathan wins immediately!

1 out of 3 successes, but every bit counts.

Haha, indeed!~ It'd be an almost perfect moment for Koa to go for it and ignore his pain to finish Cottonee at last if we wouldn't have agreed to ban Will Points in this battle.

Man. That battle was amazing. So far, this is my favorite of all times. Maybe I should have go with Dual Chop instead of Dragon Claw, but I was hoping the critical would do better results with Dragon Claw. But despite that, it was a incredible battle, and you deserve that victory Phantom. Shiva and Cottonee grown a lot like persons and trainers. And that battle show your skill, move wise choice and her experience in battling.

And this mean we have a tie. I win once. And you win this time. Next time, we gonna fight in the Pokemon League, when we faced the Elite Four. I won't going to taking easy on ya. I will get stronger next time. And Koa shall be a Mighty Haxorus. Be ready.

But today is your victory. Congratulations!

Welp, here we go...time for Nathan to catch up in the timeline...starting with how Angela reacts to Nathan's initial reactions to Heart's text.

Such cute words, thank you! They'll make me turn in for the night with a smile. Oh heavens, the League though! That's a long run still, I hope Shiva won't make a complete fool out of herself there.

Don't worry. If Shiva could handle such hard battle against Heart, she will do amazing there. And Koa will also be waiting. And before I forget...

@Lord Windos! You next!

But not now since we still have things to do.

Meanwhile, Terra doesn't have to worry about that at all for a little while longer, and by that time everyone else will have sorted out what to do, so he won't have to add or contribute much to the discussion at all!

On a different note, congrats on the epic win against Angela! I especially your decision to field Calam, as a Dark type brow beating one of its arch nemesis type is always a treat, especially when its one so cool and noble as that mountain cat! Shame that Charizard got chunked during his Evo Battle, but at least he put on a dang good showing. All's that left is getting him his Mega Evo, which involves some more trust/bonding exercises between you guys.

Kinda a bit disappointed that the rest of the group isn't liable to be fighting Angela anytime soon, though, given she's apparently a wandering Gym Leader that only extended the offer to Nathan for a fight (so far as I remember), and especially since he's going to get some sort of secret goodie that he's IC honorbound not to spoil to the rest of the group. Given that Terra's been blazing through the roughtest parts of the Safari Zone, I'd figured he'd run into her once and get his chance to shine with them, but guess that's not to be. Hoo hum....
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
