Heart bow in respect toward the might Golurk. "Great and might Golurk. Me and my Golett Atlas we are searching for a way for him to reach the next level of his evolution. I challenge you to a battle, and if we win, you will guide us to the place he can reach his final form."

With that said, Heart his orders!

"A flying Seadra? That could sure be useful. But, I don't have any noble ancestry. Just a few witches on my mother's side. So I did know about the Violet Tent, actually. But it's so easy to capture an unconscious Pokemon, so yeah I'd just knock the Seadra out and capture it. I'm sure it could fuel some amazing spells."

"...it is easy to capture an unconscious pokemon, yes, but what of the pokemon's desires?  It would certainly earn you no favors with them, and they certainly wouldn't feel any obligation to protect you if need be.  And I don't think Seadra would have felt inclined to tell me about where they learned DIVE if I had fought them."

Nathan sighs.

"...have you ever properly talked with your pokemon in the rare instances they're not contained in their pokeballs, Kelda?  And...there's something else that's been on my mind.  How many of those pokemon actually belong to you personally?  Again, call me curious, but I do have good reason to ask."

"Technically, they all belong to the Scimitar organization. There's no point in talking to them - it won't change what I ask them to do, what my goals are. Being a Scimitar is very different from being a Trainer. Besides, we have our ways of learning what a Pokemon knows... but I can't really tell you about that. Ask Cosh."

"...you know, Juni said something similar.  She said she and her Alakazam had a bond of some kind, one that we'd never understand...in the aftermath of it all, though, I honestly didn't see it.  Far as I could tell, Alakazam didn't really have any kind of special bond with her.  It's funny that you phrase things that way, however, because from what I know, you Scimitars never actually ask your pokemon whether they want to do anything...you just...well, do it, whether they want to or not."

Another sigh from Nathan as he continues.

Golurk Round 1

Iron Defense 1
(3)(3)(5)(1)(6)(4) (2)(1)(2)(4)
+2 def for Golett

Golurk considers carefully, draws back an arm methodically, and hits Golett in its spirit-torso. The tiny Pokemon goes flying.

Shadow Punch 1
(6)(2)(1)(3)(3)(5) (2)(5)(4)(6) Critical hit.
(2)(6)(5) Golett takes 3 dmg 5/8hp -1 pain

Ice Punch 2
(4)(3)(4)(2)(2)(6) (4)
(5)(4)(3)(3) Golurk takes 3 dmg 11/14hp -1 pain
CD: (3), (4)

Golurk methodically lands another blow in the exact same spot.
Shadow Punch 2
(4)(2)(6)(1)(1)(5) (6)(1)
(2) Golett takes 1 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain

Ice Punch 3
(1)(5)(5)(2)
(3)(1)(5)(2) Golurk takes 2 dmg 9/14hp -1pain
CD: (4), (2)

The bigger fist clashes with the smaller, as both automatons follow very similar "programming." Golett is just as strong as the bigger golem thanks to Heart's training and Iron Fist.

Shadow Punch 3
(1)(4)(5)(2)(3)(6) (1)
(6) Golett takes 2 dmg 2/8hp -2 pain

Ice Punch 4
(1)(5)(2)
(1)(6)(1)(5) Golurk takes 2 dmg 7/14hp -2 pain
CD: (3), (2)

Shadow Punch 4
(2)(6)(2)(6)(1)
(3) Golett takes 1 dmg 1/8hp -3 pain

Ice Punch 5
(6)(1)
(2)(6)(2)(4) Golurk takes 3 dmg 4/14hp -2 pain
CD: (1), (4)

Shadow Punch 5
(5)(3)(3)(1)
(4) Golett takes 2 dmg and faints.

Golurk shakes his head slowly. Golett is not yet ready to be given the secret. He'll have to find it for himself.

She breaks. "Who cares?! Why are you telling me this? Why, in the middle of an apocalypse, are you so concerned about the well-being of Pokemon you don't even know? They aren't pets to us Scimitars. They're... employees. They have no say in the matter, and what they want doesn't count for shit."

Nathan keeps his response calm and reasoned.  "Because it's not just humans that live here in Creshire, Kelda.  The pokemon do as well.  I'm fighting for everyone who lives in Creshire, human and pokemon alike.  That is why I'm wielding this Sword against Deoxys...and whatever else I need to face to help make this world a better place for everyone in it."

Nathan closes his eyes and goes quiet for a moment.  He's hoping these words will have a positive impact in the long term...

Quote:Lunapup is feeling full already; it takes only a nibble of Gourmet Food.

Lunapup crouches down to allow you to see some of its treasures - you can see through the doorway a glowing Eye emblazoned on the inner wall of its doghouse. You can see some shiny swirling Mega Stones, a dried mushroom with pleasant colors, a shard of clay, a few metal figurines that have been chewed like dog toys, and the bones of giant Pokemon.

Ah, then Shiva's taking the freedom of helping herself with a hand of Gourmet Food. It's still lacking a great amount of sugar for her taste, but it's originally made as a healthy snack for Pokemon anyway. "I'll leave this here for you, Lunapup, help yourself if you're becoming hungry later. I can always buy more after all!~"

Their careful revelation of SOME of the collected treasures makes Shiva go ( ◕ヮ◕)و✧, the befuddlement where this mondoggo got not only one, but several Megstones from comes secondary. They are not what allure her interest and desire of 'Must have!~' most, no. Before she could speak out a single word though, something moves within the pocket of her Ranger's cloak, and out of it pokes the head of a small black ratlike creature. It yawns, then blinks at the surrounding. "O... Oh, you're right, I almost forgot, but I DO have a small Pokemon with me indeed, dear puppy of the moon! It's this smol artistic rodent I came across in an upper Layer..." She gently plucks Ratsy from the pocket with cupped hands, then places him before her on the ground. "Would you like to say hello to him, maybe?"

Mechanics:
Forgot about Ratsy in Shiva's pocket yesterday, but he and Lunapup can still be introduced now before things concerning the treasures are adressed. Would like to see how they react to each other first before doing that, as it might make quite a difference.

Furthermore and maybe too obvious to tell, but when Spira comes back and tells of that trapdoor he came across, Shiva's instantly highly curious and interested. She'd like to check it out, feeling that the Artifacts could be the key to open it.

Golurk doesn't want to fight a freshly revived Pokemon while he's still wounded. It already feels it has won. You could try offering to heal Golurk somewhat, maybe.

Touching the Shield to the trapdoor does nothing. Your intuition picks up that this could be a way into the palace proper, which even Lurantis did not know how to access.

Lunapup is overjoyed to find gentle Ratsy to play with! This actually gets him to move from his doorway a bit as the two roll around together.
