Lapras shies away at the thought of traveling with humans.  It may be hungry, but it seems to be distrustful.

Kee shies away too, looking honestly startled and sorry. "Oh, have I been too straightforward for yar taste? I....didn't mean to hurt yar feelings like that, should have KNOWN that ya're havin' issues with humans due to them havin' overhunted yar dear kind... I'm sorry for that, I really am, please forgive me that stupid mistake..." He offers them an extra-portion of nori alongside this apology.

"But..." If allowed, he pets and hugs Lapras' head again, "...it's not like I can't understand such a reaction from yours. Humans can be SO cruel, takin' advantage of yar friendly nature to lure ya into their nets 'n traps just because your meat is praised as a so-call'd 'delicacy' 'nd so on. Does it help ya to know that I'm a vegetarian 'nd STRICTLY refuse ANY kind of meat 's well as ANY stuff made from a Pokemon's skin, scales, feathers, etc.? 'nless a strict carnivore's under my care or b'comes my companion, ya won't see me feedin' any meat to my dear ones EITHER. It may be a small step, but it does mean somethin' to me... I like Pokemon WAY too much to get myself to...eat 'em -", he shivers slightly at that thought, "- 'nd I've got ENOUGH of all that cruelty done to those dear creatures just cuz people like how they taste." He looks disgusted by that thought.

"...In short, there's really no need to fear me for possiby deceivin' ya here. Ask dearest Octavia here, she can assure ya that." Said faeeveelution smiles encouragingly at Lapras and is open to clear and settle any remaining concerns they may have.

"That 'genuince care' I mentioned... In my case, that means 'granting protection from anything and anyone that means harm to ya' foremost and 'honing yar skills properly and teach ya how to fight if it b'comes necessary to defend yarself'. I know yar species isn't exactly...prone to battle 'n fight, but ya should still learn 'n know how to fend off 'gressive 'Mon 'n predators. Protection..." Kee sighs a little at that and holds his head in one hand as he prefers to look into the tarn instead of at Lapras. "...Honestly, I'd give mah life to properly protect those I care for, probably b'cause I damn-well know how it feels like to have close 'n loved ones snatched from ya. Don't exactly wanna...others, 'ncluding a kind 'n dear Lapras like YOU, to go through such a misery if I can prevent it."

Karen has that sheepish look of someone getting lectured by their parents when Randolph not so subtly calls her out for being nosy.  To her credit, though, even when she's being apologetic and is finding it difficult to look at Randolph directly, she's still trying to be at least a little cheery.  "...I'm sorry...I think you're doing a good job, though...I don't think we could do this without your help..."

Lotus, meanwhile, has chosen to start ignoring Randolph, finding his comments rude.  What kind of gentleman forces a lady to do something they don't wish to do?  The bare minimum amount of attention she pays to him is because she's making sure that he doesn't treat Karen the same way.

Amethyst is 100% concerned about Randolph's behavior, but not just because of him.  For a moment while he's talking, she looks very anxious, looking in every direction.  By the time Randolph has finished talking, though, whatever was bugging her has seemingly gone away...

Boreas is certainly trying to chat with Lotus, but the rose doesn't seem very interested in socializing right now for obvious reasons.

Karen eventually summons her Magnezone as she and Randolph awkwardly stand around in silence.  She gives her closest partner a hug, and she manages to crack a small smile again.  She'd been waiting so long for this day, and now it's finally here...sometimes ya just need to focus on the small comforts instead...

Blubelrog Round 2

Spoilers: there isn't much this frog can do in response to a priority Hypnosis that can't miss.  Zzzzzz...

Hypnosis 1
Not gonna bother with rolling accuracy in this instance because it can't crit.
Blubelrog falls Asleep again!

Wake Up 1
(5)(3)(4)(6)(4)(2) 4/5

Gama's almost a blur as he hacks and slashes at Blubelrog's thick skin.

Night Slash 1
9 - 2 - 2 = 5
(6)(5)(3)(3)(5) Gama became Dark type!
(5)(1)(3) Blubelrog takes 1 damage. 3/10 HP -2 Pain

Kogeki uses a Potion on Gama! 8/8 HP

Wake Up 2
(5)(5)(4)(3)(3)(3) 7/5
Blubelrog wakes up!

Nagi calmly continues with the plan of attack, not really phased by the ludicrous speed at which this frog can wake up from impromptu naps.

Psywave 2
9 - 4 = 5
(5)(3)(5)(2)(6)
(6)(3)(2) Blubelrog takes 1 damage. 2/10 HP -2 Pain

Quick Attack 2
9 - 4 = 5
(6)(5)(4)(4)(2) Gama became Normal type!
(4)(4) Blubelrog takes 2 damage and faints!

The 6 foot tall frog pokemon falls backwards into the now poisoned water as Gama slams a fist into her torso, causing a large splash.  Fortunately, Gama's the only one who gets wet, and he's the only one who really wouldn't care about it.  The black aura surrounding Blubelrog dissipates into the air as a small amount of peace graces this section of mountaintop once more.

Gama, Nagi, and Nami all get 3 exp, and Kogeki gets 5.

(I noticed a lot of errors in your math during those orders for that battle, Spirit.  Might want to double check that you're writing down the correct numbers and that you're adding them correctly)

That has a chance of working.  This Lapras seems really hard to convince, though.  The food and assurances do help slightly, however.

Lapras hesitantly swims forward and brings their head down until their at eye level with Kee.  They look long and hard at the man's eyes, searching for something...

Empathy +1: (6)(4)(3)(3)(6)(1)(4)(5)(2)(2)(6*) 6 successes
Effective Will: (2)(3)(2)(2)(2)(6)(1)(3)(5)(3)(2)(3) 2 successes.  Okay, maybe not as hard to convince as I thought they would be.

...then they back up and slowly nod.  They still seem to be a little distrustful, but they're willing to give it a shot.

Gotcha!  Lapras was caught!
Known Moves: Sing, Growl, Water Gun, Mist, Confuse Ray, Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Brine, Safeguard, Hydro Pump, Sheer Cold
H/L/D: 2/2/3
Will: 10
Current Ability: Shell Armor
Other Abilities: Water Absorb
Base HP: 8
Gender: Your choice
Held Item: Mystic Water

Looks like this Lapras already knows how to fight and defend itself despite normally being a rather docile species.

Kee gets 5 exp for this encounter.

Hearing the wee lass' timid apology and encouragement prompts Ran to remove his hand from his face and crack open his eyes to peer at her with a small amount of reserve, until he let out another *Sigh* and leaned up from Amethyst and stood before her again, and rested a hand against the girl's torso (or wherever he can reach that isn't inappropriate) .

"....Karen....thank ya. Can't begin to understand why a young'em like you appreciates anything about a tired old bastard like myself, but....maybe you can see something I can't. That, and I don't have to understand in order to accept it, I think. So.....thank you again."

He looked so lost and tired as he spoke about that, but underneath both was a sense of gratitude towards her. Easy enough to find, if you knew where to look.

Lotus' dismissive attitude towards his advice earns her (and by extension Karen) last remarks from him, his expression towards her more grave and serious than ever.

"Heed these words, Lotus: those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. If your Trainer is put through another situation like this because you refused to grow, change, or adapt yourself from this one, whatever trouble you fail to prevent will entirely be on you. And the next time, you two might not have anyone to bail you out of it."

His ivory protector's behavior doesn't go unnoticed by him, but since she eventually calmed down he decided not to comment on it. If whatever troubling her was gone and/or absent now, then he was not going to worry himself or her anymore about it yet. Right now, they all have enough woe to handle as it is...

Boreas' failed attempts at friendship/otherwise with the walking bouquet earns him a a small amused snort from his Trainer, and they themselves just end up shrugging and leaving the prickly rose to their own devices. Cold shoulders don't bother him too much, for fairly obvious reasons.

Ran would let the bi-chromatic eyed girl her moment with her Magnezone, silently watching the two with what might be a contemplative and inscrutable expression while leaning against Amethyst for the longest time, before again he leans up from them and *Claps!* his hands, getting their attention (hopefully).

"Alright, let's regroup with Rui and get a move on north (the passage the Rhyperior was guarding), Karen. We still need to find the Stairs on this Floor, or otherwise we'll be harassed by the locals or eventually this Wind Scizors talked about, and between those to I prefer dealing with neither . *Jerks thumb at Rhyperior* And I'm betting that rhino was guarding either the path to them, or something equally special or important. So when ya ready, let's go."
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

(Can you name the mistakes in my orders Dragonstrike?)

He praise his powerful Pokemon actions done. "Excellent job you two. Now...let's send that guy to the PC."

2 Dusk Ball in the Toxic Frog.

Also, Nami know Recover right? Can I ask her to heal herself with the move and complete the healing with Cleffa help? Unless we had a moment to rest since the number of encounter reach the limit I guess per day. Can you confirm that?

It's not actually night time (though it's admittedly hard to tell), and the weather doesn't seem to be triggering the Dusk Balls' effects, so it doesn't seem to be working much better than a normal pokeball.

Dusk Ball 1
S: (5)(3)
W: (5)(1)(4)(6)(2) *crack!* That's a broken Dusk Ball, unfortunately.

Still want to use the second Dusk Ball?

If Nami knows the move (do you remember when she learned it?  I'm having diffuclty confirming she knows it since it isn't listed on the character sheet as a move she knows), she can absolutely use Recover to heal herself, so long as she spends 1 Will Point for every usage of it, just like with the Heal Pulsers.

Also, strangely, nobody feels tired from exhaustion yet, despite having participated in 4+ encounters each by this point.

Shouldn't Dusk Ball work in dark or cavern places? We still in the caverns inside a mountain. So yes, the Dusk Ball effects should be triggered.

2 Great Balls and 1 Ultra Ball.

It is in the char sheet, in the Moves Page. It is between the description of Peck and Focus Blast.

You're outside on the mountain's slopes now, not in the caves.  Despite the path changing somewhat due to the mystery dungeon, the group still needs to follow the same general path as you originally have to in the games (lower caves, outdoors, upper caves) to reach the Spear Pillar.  The current weather also doesn't count for the effect.  That's why the Dusk Ball's effect isn't triggering.

Then also add the move to the list on Nami's quickpage, please.  It's easier to look up moves known by a specific pokemon on the quickpage and PC tabs.

Recover (Spend 1 of Nami's Willpoints)
9 + 2 - 2 = 9
(4)(5)(2)(5)(3)(5)(3)(2)(1)
(5)(4)(4)(6) *whistles* Nami recovers 4 HP! 6/8 -1 Pain  Maybe she doesn't need that Heal Pulse after all?

Great Ball 1
(6)(6)(5)(4)
(6)(5)(3)(5)(2)

Karen will catch that Rhyperior before the mini group moves on.

Ultra Ball

(2)(1)(1)(2)(4)

Gotcha!  Rhyperior was caught!
No need for me to post a stat block this time either.

--------------------------------

*draws card out of hat and rolls*

(Turns out I can insert images into google sheets on mobile.  The map has been updated.)

Probably to Randolph's disappointment, the path Rhyperior was guarding does not lead directly to the stairs.  Instead, they find that an avalanche from one of the nearby peaks has effectively turned this path into a dead end unless the large quantities of snow, rock, and dirt can be cleared.

There is however, several items of note strewn around the area.

- A very expensive looking red top hat
- A TM for the move Fire Blast
- A TM for Swords Dance
- A Flame Plate (something that only Randolph would recognize due to his light interest in Lore)
- 4 Big Nuggets
- A jornal with a fire pattern on the cover
