[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

It's best if we be careful with Taunt and Torment. Those two can be complicated to deal with if he decides to seal any other move we have. Pyra should try to Flinch Monferno with her Bite, or maybe use something else against him to cause more damage. And Kee do his best to either Evade Monferno Fighting Moves, or use something to Flinch him or cause more damage as possible.

Daxter should be wary too, since Monferno line can learn Thunder Punch so careful with that. How that plans sounds everyone?

Welp, that's a relief at least. A small one for Pyra, but we take all we can get!

Concerning Mach Punch, if Dragonstrike is using Bulbapedia then Mon-mon gets it as a Evo Move AND 1 XP Move, so I'd be concerned with it none the less. Plus it's a Evolved Pokemon, so it's likely that is has either High Instinct or a few High XP Moves under it's belt, so caution is well and truly appreciated with it!

Contrary to what Phantom says (sorry honey), but trying to Flinch it may be a good idea, even if Bite is likely to do beans worth of Damage. Denying enemies their Actions is never a bad thing, if you can pull it off! That aside, I'm honestly not sure what much I can do Pyra Movewise, since Monferno might as well be the closest thing to a hard counter to her right now. Still, I can at least try to Flinch with her Bite and chip it a bit, so that'll be my plan!

Now we can confirm Monferno indeed know in use Mach Punch. Now it's a good time in use that Quick Attack.

...? The makers changed what happens when clashing successfully? Which version's corebook are you using then for Clashing? I'm mildly confused, since it seems that in the first Round against Monferno BOTH me and the foe suffer 1 auto-damage independantly from any Super- and Not-Very-Effectiveness, which isn't what v.1.25 = the ones used for this Campaign says.

They changed it from 1.2 to 1.2.5.  I think 1.2.5's is better balanced, too (and so did the writers, because it works like that in 2.0 as well).

I'll be using 1.2.5's version, as I do state that's the book we're primarily referring to in the fidst post of this thread.  If the rules in this thread state otherwise, I'll edit them later.

Mind if I Clash this time against Monferno Phantom? In terms of typing resistance/immunity I could negate any possible damage since I Ghost Type, so Mach Punch will not do any damage against me.

Ah I see, thanks! Hmm, then what this threads says might need editing. Either way, I'll note down myself that a successfull clash will now deal 1 auto-damage to both me and the foe, regardless whether the moves clashing are super-effective or not-very-effective. Sounds alright?

I'll stick with my orders for this Round, but there's nothing wrong with you aiming to clash too. Go ahead if you like~

Hmm I check everyone orders and...pretty much everyone already decided what they want to do. I ready to see if this plan of us will work or not.

So. What are we doing? I think we should leave for now, cos we've achieved quite a bit in this in-game day already.
I'm no one special. Also, here's a pupper pic:

I'm definitely for seeing what's at the end of the corridor instead of outright leaving - Monferno himself stated that the exit of Hall of Magic is at the end of the corridor here, and sometimes loot can be found at the deepest part of Mystery Dungeons. Maybe Monferno has more stuff hidden away at the end or similar, that too. We can still leave upon activating our Badges afterwards, or use the Escape Orb Kogeki still has.

Uh, @Dragonstrike, something else I wanted to ask: Why do we get only 3XP for that battle? It's more of a question/something I can't quite comprehend than an objection. That amount of XP seems rather low in terms of this battle having been not as 'easy' as the ones we fought before, plus it's been our first fight against a real outlaw - sounds like a challenging enough experience that should teach us something roleplay-wise, and Monferno himself was a relatively tough opponent. 3XP is literally the same amount we've gotten for defeating Spoink-Magnemite-Driftloon here and Pumpkaboo-Pumpkaboo-Klink here, and we even got more (5XP to be exact) for managing to clear the horde of Litwick here., I wouldn't say that the first two battles were as hard as Monferno nor that the Litwick Horde was harder than Monferno. No chance you'd possibly reward the defeat of Monferno a bit more XP-wise?

I say to explore a bit more deep since there might some extra loot there.

And I agree with Phantom. It was a pretty tough so I think it could have a bit more XP gained. It should be at least the double of that XP.
