Before I get to the bread and butter, I'll give you some backstory.

I've hatched 6 shinies ever since I've started breeding in October. Three Eletuxes, a Raptorch, a Tonemy, and then a Tancoon. Anyone in the Breeder's Discord can tell you, I have GOD AWFUL shiny luck. I hatched 900 Eevees and didn't get a single shiny. When I was hatching Eletuxes, it took me 700 for the first, 500 for the second, and about 430 for the third. Yes, I've hatched 1630 Eletuxes and only got three shinies. Yes, I had Masuda and Charm for all but the first 500 Eletuxes I hatched.

Raptorch is the only Shiny that I had intended to hatch that came really soon. Tonemy just came randomly when I was hatching for a 6IV.

So here's what's happening now. I've made a second file and completed it's PokèDex with the help of Vyhn and his living dex, so now it has both charms. I also have the Christmas Pufluff and a 5iv Competitive Tancoon on that file. I also have 35 completely empty boxes to fill. With Tancoons.

Yes, I'm about to fill a whole PC with Tancoons.

Why am I doing this? To prove a one point or another. The first point is that my shiny luck is indeed extremely awful and that I won't get a single shiny in these 35 boxes, or just one from sheer luck. The second point is that, on my second file, which was made after the addition of Praseo and Neopunk, will have better luck than my main file, and that the update somehow bugged the shiny charm on my main file.

And, well, I'm off to a good start. I've just completed a full box, and got a shiny on my 7th hatch. That's one shiny, though. Until I hatch two or more, I can't be definite about things.

So, there's that. At the end of this, I'll have 1050 Tancoons and an unknown amount of shinies and 6IVs. I'll post another thread at the end of this endeavor.

Hi all!  So since I seem to be writing a lot of Uranium fanfic lately, I decided to start this thread and put all the stories together in one place.  I'll make new announcement posts as I publish more, and also add them to this post so that they're conveniently listed.  

I use the fic name "StarlingJedi" on FanfictionNet; I also use it on Archive of Our Own, although I've recently added "EeveeBailey" as a pseudonym on my account there so that both names come up.

Feel free to leave comments / reviews / ideas / suggestions in this thread!  Feedback = love!  

I'm trying to get to the seventh gym, and escaped from Lanthanite Cave just barely (between four wild Sableye, assorted trainers, and weather damage).  But that huge frozen pond/rock puzzle -- the one east of the cave and north of Dragon Trainer Kim, with two white rocks at the far edge -- is driving me up the wall.  Could one of you please give directions (verbal or diagrammed) across the area?  Many thanks!

EDIT:  I've found the corner with TM77 and the Never-Melt Ice, but the directions I need are from there to the path between the white rocks.  I always manage to  end with ONE of them blocking the way.

Before I get into details, I'll make a short Pros/Cons summary.

Pros:

-Great story
-A nice challenge
-Very creative Pokèmon designs

Cons:

-Nuclear Type is a gimmick rather than an actual type.



My Review:

I'll try to make this short and sweet. If you haven't finished the story, then don't read this to avoid spoilers.

Pokèmon Uranium is the first Pokèmon-related game I've played since the original Pokèmon Sapphire. Great story, and the general design of things like the towns, routes, and Pokèmon are fantastic. There are some things that bug me, however. Why would Lucille abandon her husband and only child to protect a project that is highly, highly illegal? And what's with the cheesy 'secret agent' thing with Cameron- er- Stormbringer? (I think I'll just call him Cameron Caine. That's just personal preference, though.)

The challenge the game provided was nice. It was, at times, annoying, however. Having chosen Raptorch as my starter (I say chosen because I purposely answered the test in a way that would get me Raptorch), The first few gyms were a bit rough. The first gym sweeped me a few times, but that was just from inexperience, so no there's no gripes about that. The second gym, surprisingly, was a breeze for my Raptorch because I taught it Rock Smash. If I otherwise hadn't, that probably could've been a problem for me. The third gym.. Oh boy, the third gym. Struggles were had there. I'm glad that Nupin egg is around, otherwise I probably would've ended up giving up for a while. While the gym was outright difficult for me to beat, there were still options for me to use, such as that Nupin egg, in order to beat it and progress, which was a great decision from the devs.

And while we're on the subject of Nupin, It's design, like many other Pokèmon in PU, is neat! I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a Grass/Electric type until I saw Nupin. Some of my favorites include Luxi's and the Starter Pokèmon's evolution lines. The type combinations are also super interesting, especially with the Starters. I'm impressed by their typings and how the devs managed to design them. I really love the creativity that's been put into this game, and I seriously look forward to seeing any expansions to the PokèDex in the future.

Alright, now the one and only thing I dislike about this game. Nuclear Type is a gimmick, and nothing more. Weak to everything, Effective against nearly everything. It doesn't make sense. A rock isn't going to be destroyed by radiation, neither would the ground beneath it. A fairy might be able to resist the radiation, or a dragon might not be affected by it at all. The fact that any Nuclear-type Pokèmon can destroy and cheese the whole game just by having a high speed stat is, honestly... Not good design. I have an idea as to how Nuclear Type can be rebalanced, but after asking one of the current devs about it, it doesn't seem likely to happen. Which, in my opinion, kinda sucks.

So that's that. I give the game and it's story and overall design an 8.5/10.

I'm a Breeder. Simple as that, really. Aside from the fact that I can breed 900 of something and not get a shiny with the best possible rates. I've been deemed the 'Unshiny Shitlord' by many. Seriously. People can hatch more shinies in a day than I have since October (I've hatched five total shinies). But, that aside... I don't really have much else to say, really. If you're in the Breeder's Discord then you know that there's much more that I can say, but I'm too lazy so I'll edit this post later.

can some one trade a astrontie  and a slothohm. I just want to complete my pokedex I will trade them back.

There was this little bug I found while heading to Venesi City for the first time. It doesn't do anything, it just makes the Ninja Surfers out of place, and it's actually kinda funny to see them circling nothing. Basically, if you are one tile below the sand, the surfers will auto adjust their position by going around you. I took a screenshot to show what they are doing.

So I'm training up all my low-level 'mon to add their evolved forms to my Dex total.  I've defeated the old Seikamater, collected the Royal Jelly, and (thanks to rematch-grinding) trained a female Firoke to level 44.  She's holding the Royal Jelly, I feed her a Rare Candy to reach level 45 -- no evolution.  If you'll excuse the pun, is this a bug?  What did I do wrong otherwise?

I was wondering if we could go back to the nuclear plants after the completion of the game, maybe a special ID card to catch some nuclear pokemon while the pokemon rangers treat the mutants. I really wanted a nuclear barand, but because theo kept spamming hurricane the other pokemon took too much damage too quickly.

Also since finding a shiny is 1 out of I think it was 7000+, it would be really frustrating to finally find a shiny and have it faint (one way or another).

Could we make this happen? (I wanna catch all shiny pokemon too)

Maybe it's because I don't play Uranium much anymore (I've gotten super into Pokemon Shuffle and I'm nuzlocking Red right now) but I kind of like the community here so I'm trying to stick around. .-.
