  The First Month of Pokemonuranium.co
Posted by: CodySP - 10-12-2016, 02:34 AM - Forum: Rules and Official News - Replies (14)

Howdy Uranium Fans,

A lot has happened in our first month, hasn't it? Uranium services failed and went radio silent, but despite that, the combined effort of r/pokemonuranium and an awesome group of fans that provided an unofficial server brought new life to the game. Unofficial patches became new updates. Unofficial Developers became the next big thing and soared to new heights in provided quality support for Uranium.

The Forum? The Forum got the word out. It gave everybody who visited an opportunity to reunite and connect with like-minded people, it has been used as a safe, secure and fun place to discuss the game and make new friends. But above all else, it was the perfect tool that many people utilized to ensure that the community stayed alive and strong. It has been an absolute joy to watch the website grow and evolve, to see users flocking to share their art, their ideas, their concerns and their hopes for what Uranium will be in the future and none of this, not even one tiny little bit would have been possible without each and every one of you who signed up and got talking.

Thank you for making this adventure so much fun!

Before we get started with our first month numbers, lets recap our very first week.

  • In our first week, 128 different people registered to the Unofficial Uranium Forum
  • We have 154 Posts in 35 different Threads
  • The Most Popular Forum is the Help Desk
  • The Official Uranium 1.0.1 patch has been downloaded over 30,000 times
  • The most users online at once was 24 on September 10th
  • The average time it takes to load the forum is 72 milliseconds

Not too shabby for our first week right? Well our first Month numbers have increased exponentially!
  • In our first month, 525 users have Registered to the Official Uranium Forum
  • We have a total of 2,865 posts in 217 Threads
  • The most popular forum is Battle and Trade
  • The most users online was 65 on September 25th
  • Three major official patches have been released here on the Forum
  • The average time it takes to load the forum is 65 Milliseconds
Cheers to the next great adventure and moving forward!

  Unofficial Downloads?

So uh, I don't have the game yet, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any 100% safe (virus-free) downloads of the game. I really want to start playing ASAP, but until I have a reliable download source, I won't be able to.

  LF Advanced Breeding Advice
Posted by: CooltrainerHerb - 10-11-2016, 09:20 AM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (19)

Hey folks,

I've been breeding some pokes, gettin' ready for some online battles. One spot I've been having difficulty with is getting a 6-IV poke from two 5-IV pokes. Now, normally this isn't a problem because 5-IV pkmn are often fine. I mean, why would Nucleon need a 31 in Atk, right? When I do want a 6-IV pkmn however, I usually end up in the following situation:

After breeding for the egg moves, ability, and nature I want on my pokemon, I start breeding for IV's. Whenever the offspring has more perfect IV's than the parent, I use the offspring for breeding. Eventually I end up with two 5-IV pkmn. However, since they are coming from the same breeding pool, they end up with the same imperfect IV. According to this breeding calculator, I have a .5% chance of getting a 6-IV pkmn when both 5-IV parents lack the same stat. When the parents' imperfect IV is on different stats, the chance for a perfect 'mon doubles to a little over 1%. Now, I realize the difference between .5% and 1% isn't that huge. When you're hatching 5 eggs at a time though, and the odds are 1 out of 192 is perfect or 1 out of 96 is perfect, respectively, it usually saves alotta time.

My question is this:
Is there an easy way to avoid this situation? Do I need to be more vigilant during the breeding process and keep an eye out for more diverse perfect IV spreads? Or, do I just need to be patient and wait for that 1 out of 192 eggs?
Thanks much!

  Mobile Version?

Any word on how possible it would be to port to this android, I know you couldn't put it in the official google play store but you could host it on your site here and it'd be amazing. I heard this game was made in RPG maker and I noticed the newest version of that has a android and ios compiler built in

I am back! (and not that new)
Posted by: keybrdkid09 - 10-09-2016, 07:17 PM - Forum: Everything goes - Replies (8)

Greetings all!

My name is Keybrdkid09.

I was, in a former life, a semi-competitive TCGO Player. In another former life, I helped found the Tandor Casual League on the old Pokemon Uranium Forums. I also achieved the rank of Ace Trainer on the old Uranium Discord Site.

I am currently working on a Tandor Casual League 2.0 Reboot. So if you were a League member before, you may still keep your position.

I have been a Pokemon fan for most of my life, with somewhat lengthy hiatuses here and there.

Nice to meet you all, and hope you will challenge the Tandor Casual League and our array of Gym Leaders and Elite Four members - if or when it comes back fully online.

In the meantime, happy training!

The Tandor Casual League Official Battle Reporting Thread

We're back all. Here is the thread where you will post your League wins.

------

To do this:

1.  Take a screenshot of the victory screen when you defeat a Gym Leader or Elite Four member.
2.  Post that screenshot here as a record of your victory.
3.  We use an honor system that you followed the rules of the Gym Leader challenge. If you try to cheat the system, you will probably be defeated at the Elite Four Level anyway. So expect that your efforts will not probably help you in the long run.
4.  A successful completion of the entire League Challenge may result in a prize being awarded from our prize closet!
5.  The League will keep a section here on this page for active challengers updated regularly. We will also keep a GoogleDocs master spreadsheet in the event of catastrophic server collapse or act of God ect.

The New Tandor Casual League 2.0

THE TANDOR CASUAL LEAGUE 2.0
New League Headquarters :  Mt. Lanthanite
Est. September/October 2015.

League Administrator:  Keybrdkid09

~ Note: With the re-introduction of Virtual Trainers and Live Battling, the League should be re-opening for challenges in the near future. Check back often to see when we go live! ~

Greetings to all!

Welcome to the all-new Tandor Casual League 2.0! Since I apparently cannot find a complete saved copy of the original League text from Version 1.0, I am going to start over fresh. And hopefully, things will be a lot more simple and less tiring to read than before.

But first, a little League history.

In my days as a Pokemon TCGO Player, we used to have challenge-able leagues on the official Pokemon forums where gym leaders and Elite 4 members could be battled at varying levels. The general way it worked was that you had to battle either a set group of gym leaders or Frontier Brains (ect. since i don't know what they have now) before you could challenge a set group of Elite 4. At one point, I think one league even experimented with a single Elite 4 member challenge after so many gym badges obtained. There were "saving point stages" where you could keep your gym badges currently earned in that challenge if you beat so many gym leaders in sequence. A loss would put you back at your previous save level. If you had no previous save level, you lose the badges you had up till that point. Wins and losses were reported by the gym leader/Elite 4 member. A cooldown period following a loss was enforced.

Off this model, I helped create the Tandor Casual League. If I remember right, a large amount of assistance came from early League members such as Iron, Lord Ozma, and Polaris. After that. others joined, and the rest is history.

This league has been in existence since on or around October 2015. The Tandor Casual League was originally designed as a place for League-style forum challenge, without the need for everyone to have hyper-competitive pokemon. As time went on however, I began to understand the way 31 IV pokemon work somewhat, and have since then relaxed my stance to allow them into the League. Thus, both types of pokemon are welcome. Just don't give me cause to re-cant my prior statements...haha.

The Tandor Casual League went into Open Beta in January of 2016, but then went on open hiatus until the release of 1.0. After that, it operated for a time, and was even challenged. But then shifts in the leadership of Pokemon Uranium, combined with a few in-game problems vital to the League's operation forced us to close up shop for a while.

However, we are now back! And with operational VT's we are closer than ever to re-opening the League for challengers. So please read the rules/levels below, and challenge the league at your leisure. And thanks for your interest in the Tandor Casual League!

------
Levels of Challenge:
Primary level:  Gym Leader (s)
Secondary level:  Elite Four member (s)
Tertiary level:   Final Battle on Mt. Lanthanite vs. League Champion (Iron)

Rules:

1.  A challenger may have 6 pokemon and only 6 pokemon. A League member may have 6 pokemon and only 6 pokemon.
2.   Lanthan, Actan, and Urayne are banned from the League per League consensus. This applies to both challengers and League members.
3.  Psuedo-legendaries are allowed, but only one in your team.
4.  You are only allowed to have 1 of any given pokemon on your team. Evolutions of varying stage are allowed.
4.5 Held items are allowed.
5.  You may challenge gyms in any order you wish, but please request a challenge on the League thread or in a PM with the specific gym leader or Elite Four member you wish to challenge.
6.   Gym Leaders will primarily use Virtual Trainers, unless they wish to host a live battle at their discretion. Elite Four member battles are always conducted live.
7.  Should you lose a gym challenge, you are free to challenge again as soon as you like. Should you lose an Elite Four level battle, you will be put on a two day cool down period. During which time, you will not be able to challenge any league member. The same cool down applies for the Mt. Lanthanite Final Battle.
8.  All battles are single battles, unless noted otherwise by the specific League member to the League.
9.  Changing teams between gym leaders, elite four members, and Final Battle levels is allowed.
9.5  Elite Four members may have a special individual rule that only applies to their challenge. You will find out this rule when you challenge them, or before.
10. The challenger must report all wins via a screenshot on the League Battle Reporting thread in the Competitive Section of the Forums. It is clearly labeled as such. I will link it here also:
11.  If the event of game glitches interrupting matches, I will recommend the following solution. two glitches in a single match by one participating party results in a win for the other party. League member or challenger alike.
12.  League Members must report their wins on the League GoogleDocs Spreadsheet. Only League members will have access to this spreadsheet.
13.  No cheating engines, cheating software, or other such programs will be allowed to manipulate challenger or League pokemon. If the League is notified of such an instance, and it is confirmed, I reserve the right to indefinitely suspend you from the League.
14.  Have fun! this is meant to be a challenge, so don't expect our gym leaders / Elite Four members to be pushovers. Their teams should not be impossible to defeat, but may put up some resistance. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!
15.  There may be prizes awarded to those who complete the entire League challenge!
16.  Anything else I missed.

Oh and here are some old Music by "MixMagius" clips I worked on as ideas for Pokemon Uranium-style music.

https://soundcloud.com/keybrdkid09   . Enjoy!

I might call the "Winning the Championship Medley" the "Tandor Casual League Theme" instead, and the Gym Leader theme as it is.

Maybe I'll work on a few more in the future as time allows. Perhaps an Elite Four theme and Final Battle on Mt. Lanthanite theme.
